+Robert Perrigo I don't recall Chevy putting big blocks in there half ton trucks in the sixties. I recall two different straight sixes and the 283 being used in the half tons. I know GMC was using a 305 V6 quite a bit in there half tons. I am more of a Dodge man myself; so I may not be recalling things correctly. I do doubt that though; because I was a Master Technician for over twenty years. By the way I am not calling you a lier. I just think someone put that 396 in it and not the factory. I just checked Wikipedia and it says that a 396 was never installed in a half ton Chevy at the factory. Sorry to give you the bad news.

ScottieDTV Scottie is that an LS engine or a bb chevy,it's kind of hard to determine with all that dressing around it.I still like big blk.,chevies,and I do like the ls engines too,but I have the old tech..

Hey Scottie I live in Washington State and I have a 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT. I want to do some power upgrades and color change. Who do you suggest in Washington or neighboring states.
Kinda out of My area Brother....I would do that color change with a wrap...And find someone that tunes those HEMI's on a regular basis....Trust Me when I tell you...Who ever gets into that motor needs to have been there before....Good luck and keep Me posted...Wish I could have helped more!
