Eric Clapton duetted with most of the great guitarists of the world especially Blues based players with two very conspicuous exceptions. Gary Moore and Robben Ford. Clapton resided in the Albert Hall for weeks on end for 20 years known as the Clapton Proms and many guitarists guested on those shows. When Gary Moore was asked why he never guested he replied 'Eric never asked me'. That was always a mystery to me. Hmmmmm!
This is the music that we, I and my friend, used to perform tapping with when we drove in Jalal -Ale-Ahmad Highway, Tehran, Iran at 6 AM. People watching us and enjoying the wonderfulness of the music and our performance :D.... some of them were not even conscious and they were sleepy! but laughing and enjoying and sometimes initiating same tapping theme with us... Really great days! unforgotten moments.... Warm greetings to my friend "HOOMAN" and those of you who really love this masterpiece
Credit also goes to Eric Clapton who is a fantastic musician to collaborate with across genres with very different vibes and musical qualities. Perhaps the most versatile bridge that exists between blues and rock.
Help the poor Won't you help poor me? Have a heart, won't you, baby Listen to my plea I need you so much, I need your care Need all the loving, baby, you can spare Help the poor Oh, baby won't you help poor me? Say you will Say you'll help me on I can't make it no further In this world alone Baby, I'm beggin' with tears in my eyes For your loving, don't you realize? I need help, oh, baby Help poor me You are my inspiration You could make me be a king But if you don't come to my rescue I couldn't ever be anything Help the poor Won't you help poor me? Have a heart, won't you, baby? Listen to my plea Well, I lost my courage till I found you You got what it takes, babe, to pull me through Help the poor Oh, baby, won't you help poor me? I'm in trouble don't you see Only your love can save me Help the poor, help .......
It's a crime to even mention Steve Vai in the same breath as B.B. King. B.B. King is one of the very best guitar players to have ever lived. Steve Vai is a child. Listen to some of BB's stuff from the early 70s and see how much intensity he can build up with just a few phrases. Steve Vai, and all those like him, are bad guitarists because they think that soul can be substituted for speed.
Vai is who he is, and BB is who he is. How can you compare the two? Two different styles entirely, much less genres. Like having two cooks, one who cooks Italian which you love, and another Chinese which you might not like as much. Does this make the Italian a better cook?
@wiltner I've seen Gary live and can't say that i found him very nice that evening, he came 2,5 hours late and started yelling at fans between songs. I later read that besides being well respected in the music scene multiple musicians stated that they didn't really enjoy working with him as a person...How ever we'll never know. It's a shame he never even got on stage at the crossroads guitar festival. A shame.
@wiltner Well, i've seen Gary live and i wouldn't really say that he's known for his kindness. I once read that he was very respected for his music but not really liked as a person back then. So, maybe that's a reason but i guess we'll never know why. Still, i've asked myself this very same question over and over again. He didn't even apear at any of the crossroads guitar festivals.
@xOEHLALA there definitely wouldn't be. Without BB king there would be no SRV, no Clapton, no Vai, Halen. He Influenced music itself, not just the blues. Less is more can never be proven more than throwin on some BB king.
The best song ever to ski to. Gave me my best run ever at Beaver Creek. Two amazing musicians, a perfect blend.
Unexpected comment:)

What a great blues and with a good message..
The headline is a good message, but the lyrics are quite selfish :-)

Help the poor
Won't you help poor me?
Have a heart, won't you, baby
Listen to my plea
I need you so much, I need your care
Need all the loving, baby, you can spare
Help the poor
Oh, baby won't you help poor me?
Say you will
Say you'll help me on
I can't make it no further
In this world alone
Baby, I'm beggin' with tears in my eyes
For your loving, don't you realize?
I need help, oh, baby
Help poor me
You are my inspiration
You could make me be a king
But if you don't come to my rescue
I couldn't ever be anything
Help the poor
Won't you help poor me?
Have a heart, won't you, baby?
Listen to my plea
Well, I lost my courage till I found you
You got what it takes, babe, to pull me through
Help the poor
Oh, baby, won't you help poor me?
I'm in trouble don't you see
Only your love can save me
Help the poor, help .......

17.5 can't wait Eric
King indeed.
Очень хорошая песня, я её люблю!
Чиж, похоже, её тоже любит, поэтому и сделал на неё римейк под названием "Перекрёсток".
Love this, and check out Robben Ford's version which he recorded years earlier and where I learned it..
I love BB, but Robbens version is much better, and much more sophisticated.
@@kimhansen6384 this sounds almost amateur by comparison haha

I ENJOYED IT,after all these years
No no faltan y si faltan otras. Pero
Best music in the world !!! :D
Super dułet bluesowy a kawałek jeszcze lepszy
sit back and feel the blues
