That is literally part of religion though. Religion stands for god's words to many. So it is absolute truth to them, and they never question it. If the bible says the earth is a few thousand years old, then nothin I say or teach em will change their mind. Religous indoctrination increases the chances of controlling people , especially women and minorities. I would even argue that organized religion (like the abrahamic ones) are easiest to abuse in order to oppress others. And it was used by many religious leaders as an excuse to oppress in the first place. That is fact. One can see it throughout history. Interestingly, especially where religious indoctrination + extremism are very common. The less educated, the easier to indoctrinate and control indeed.

during Prophets time burqa was worn during a war period as not only Muslim, Jews and Christians worn so for safety of not being recognised who is Muslim or Christian, it wasn't a religious obligation, but it has been incorporated to Islam as if it was prescribed by Islam for all times. When I read the Quran on Hijab it never addresses women must cover their hair or face, it addresses mainly their body and chest as an obligation.

Obsessed with gaining superiority makes us forget that in commerce, business and politics, a monopole situation does not exist. Ignoring the need to negotiate a balance always results in an implosion.
As the father of two strong daughters and two strong granddaughters it saddens me greatly that women are treated this way regardless of the cause. Religion, culture or just plain old ignorance. The Afghan army was given everything they needed but lacked the motivation to fight for their own freedom and chose instead to lay down their weapons and walk away. I bet if these strong women were in the military they would have stood up to the Taliban and fought for their freedom.
I'm positive of that. They would have definitely fought because they had something to fight for while those dudes felt much wouldn't change for them, their freedoms wouldn't be messed with.
Unfortunately you make a good and most likely true assumption. The government remains a completely paternalistic system where the men who chose not to fight are still part of the group in power. Men are not persecuted and dominated under sharia law like women are. Theocracies controlled by religious zealots have no place in a world still struggling to leave the dark ages behind. Religion in all its glory.
Sometimes women need to be treated that way for the betterment of humanity as a whole. Afghan women were meant by God to only increase the population of the world. Education for women in Afghanistan was a mistake that threw away lots of money and time when it could have fixed society there as a whole. Honestly, it would have been better if US troops kept women over there from even going to school. Women are meant to have kids and increase the population.
I have a friend in Afghanistan. Life was hard with four little children, but when her husband was shot a few months ago, she is greatly restricted where she can go without a male. It is very very hard without the breadwinner as well. The Taliban don’t supply care and food, only punishment if they don’t follow Sharia law.
Islam doesn’t require any of this. These men just refuse to hold other men responsible for their actions towards women, and instead impose restrictions on women to prevent SA and SH. If they actually taught their boys to respect women like they say they do they wouldn’t feel the need to impose these restrictions.
These rules are needed/necessary by their essence and regardless of how men may be acting. They don’t enforce the rules for men, they enforce the rules because they value the rules themselves. For example the hijab is necessary for a Muslim woman and it’s not dependent on the actions of men.

It's has alot to do with their religion, they are fundamentalists so follow Sharia law to the Extreme and women get the bad end of the stick there

during Prophets time burqa was worn during a war period as not only Muslim, Jews and Christians worn so for safety of not being recognised who is Muslim or Christian, it wasn't a religious obligation, but it has been incorporated to Islam as if it was prescribed by Islam for all times. When I read the Quran on Hijab it never addresses women must cover their hair or face, it addresses mainly their body and chest as an obligation.
This is how Islam spread everywhere. Women don't work or study, they have to stay at home making a lot of children. Easy. Also, ignorant women will raise ignorant children.

All high schoolers in America should have to watch these videos. Everyone needs a purpose in life.
They just want to protect their woman from western propaganda, feminist etc.
Leave them alone. They are doing great.
No one wants to fight for America, Taliban is a reaction, armed by the U.S., trained by Pakistan and Funded by Saudis. To fight Soviets.
You being Able to Interview them says a Million words .
May God protect them :'((
he already protecting them.

Mean-while in Afghanistan: When America pulled out of Afghanistan it froze Afghanistan’s government funds held in foreign banks so the Taliban could not get it. Corrupt American politicians plan to use these funds to compensate American corporations for what happened in September 11. So now Afghanistan has no overseas funds to buy food for its starving populations. Nothing else as important as this is a worthy issue in Afghanistan news but the root cause is the west not respecting Afghan cultural beliefs like it was a crusade. The Innocent Afghanistan public are paying the price of September 11 with their lives. Rather than America, NATO and UN handing over in a planned way to the Taliban with assistance to mentor the Taliban in the way to run a modern country, they just abandoned them after 20 years of colonialist control and hegemony. both is right:
1. USA have made a major mistake by supporting the Taliban and by fighting against the Taliban later.
2. The Taliban dont have the perspective of women because they are only men. It is not right to be only men and decide what is wrong and what is right. 50% of population are women and they need to be able to be part of decision making. especially when it comes to their own lifes.

This documentary points to a very important aspect of the oppression of women in the Islamic world that Westerners tend to overlook -- in the most severe situations, it’s not the literal application of Islam responsible for their oppression but rather leaders who invoke Islam choosing to go above and beyond the requirements of their religion.
