Thank you ladies you have saved me, I have never really sewed and bought a designer jacket worth allot from Italiano Cultoure in LA. 5 years later due to the moisture where I lived I think it went home perfect to fell apart. So I am cutting , unpicking and re sewing it as I am in Sydney Australia and pretty sure its out of warranty. Your tips just streamlined my production line ....excellent. The roller foot saved me. Spent first 3 days unpicking as would not stay in place, pins didn't work and left marks. So, sincere thank you to you both, regards a man from down under!
candygirl77777 with the older husqvarna machines (swedish) they hide it inside the cover where the thread arm comes out. Never know it's there until I opened the cover one day.
Thank you, I got an old singer sewing machine bought when I was little by my aunt, but now Im using it. I have a hard time figuring what is what and most videos tell you to look at the guide book without much explanation. I get it, sewing machine varies from brand to brand but I dont have the manual book at all. I kept on making mistakes, not sure where to adjust, or where the mistakes coming from. Your video helps a lot.
i thought it would be the opposite … lighter fabric would move more easily naturally so wouldn’t it need more tension to keep it in place? and heavy fabric is thicker so it wouldn’t need the higher tension… now i’m confused
Mine jammed while doing denim and now the pressure is so tight I can't moved cloth through it no matter what the setting :( is there another way to adjust?
thank you thank you thank you - I learned about this more than 40 years ago and when I ask someone if their presser foot tension is "off" when they have problems they answer with "what is that?" - I felt it was almost an insult when I took a machine in for a cleaning and they asked if I knew how to adjust my BOBBIN tension and that tension is one of the first things you learn to adjust when sewing!!!
I always learn so much. Simple and clear. Very straight to the point! I am your big fan! Thank you so much for your inspirational and educational information🌺🌺🌺
I've been sewing for over 15 years and I had no idea this was something you could adjust!! I'm gonna have to look at this on my machine immediately bc I think it's the reason my stitches are wonky.
I have a Brother ST531HD. I have read and understood the instructions manual thoroughly but I definitely cannot find a dial or a a screw to adjust the pressure on my pressure foot. I have a feeling Brother sewing machine does not allow the user to adjust that pressure on the pressure foot. Am I right?
If you have a husqvarna (I have 2 older ones) flip open the cover on the top left of the machine where the arm comes out and you will see a numbered dial inside. That's the foot pressure dial for older huskis.
I have a Kenmore 12-stitch from the late 80s. If it has one of these, I can’t find it anywhere. I wish it did. The pressure is so high, I can barely turn the fabric to do curves or anything without constantly having to lift the foot. I thought I was just a horrible sewer for years before I realized I could adjust this on my newer machines.
I have Singer Tradition 2250 do you maybe know where is foot pressure dial there ? Because I can’t find it and I have really hard time sewing stretchy patches that I want on my jacket. They get all stretched out and uneven
Thanks for this, very helpful - do you have a similar tutorial about thread tension? I've found keeping it around 3 or 4 on my machine (a mechanical Janome) tends to work best, but I don't know why.
My pressure foot has tension bringing the needle up; but NO tension to bring the needle down! The needle goes down anyway - but very very slowly!!! What should I do?
anyone on here can help me. I have singer confidence 7640 machine i cannot find a pressure foot dial or anything relating to it in the handbook. does anyone have ideas contacted singer they did not know, that says a lot
Can anyone answer my question please. ..I have a 1998/9 approximately. .. Toyota sewing machine (no user guide) does anyone know where the presser foot adjuster is please ?
do you know the model number because I've been able to find several user manuals online just by googling brand and model? Anyways, it's worth a shot. good luck!
THANK YOU SOMUCH I W AS GOING CRAZY TRYING TO FIGURE IF IT WAS EVEN POSSIBLE TO ADJUST THIS I WAS SO READY TO JUST RIP THE FABRIC FROM THE FOOT AND EAT IT WITH THE TENSION SO DANG DARN HIGH I CANTDO ANYHTING TAH K YOU SO

‘High for heavy, low for lighter’ (fabrics) - just what I needed to know thank you!💖😊💖

Thank you!!! I was going crazy trying to get my white 3100 to sew my thick hoodie ... I love this Machine I must say!!!
Glad I could help!
This is the most precious and concise adjustment information benefitting me! Thanks 👍
I'm so glad you found it helpful

Thank you for the simple demo to figure out if it's working properly or not and see what an incorrect tension can do to the fabric!

Helpful as always!
This is SO helpful. Thank you!
Sigh my machine has no button or dial to adjust the tension and the manual was no help.. Idk what to do 😩
not all machines have a presser foot adjuster :(
same here. Does anyone know if brother ce5000 has one?
Love the basics as I tend to go all hyper when things are off. Thank you.
Thanks you, these are great reminders!
My machine doesn’t have that lever to push the pressure foot down, is there something else it could be?
I'm wearing the same nail polish! What are the chances

do you know if the brother ce5000 has an adjuster? help!
I'm not sure but if you don't have a manual, google it. Most manuals can be found online. :)

Please help me in getting spreader foot for my UJanome machine.
You'll have to find a Janome retailer for accessories. You might even be able to buy parts on their website.
