Not going to lie, those scion tc's have GREAT acoustical properties when it comes to bass ( they'rethe equivalent to the Honda CRX) . I put two savard hi q 6.5 running off a Rockford fosgate r 1200.1 in a custom ported enclosure in her 2012 tc and it sets off car alarms!!!

I have a extended cab pickup and I was rattling my TAILGATE with a 10” MTX MSX1004. Ported box fitted between back seat bottom and between both front seat backs. So kinda like dead center in the back like an extension of the center console. Shit was mint I can’t remember what amp and gauge wire I ran
These 12s hit hard I just swapped to 2 15s but ran some ds18 ZXIs on a 4K it slapped

Shape of the hatch always gonna mean that it puts out good bass. Back in the day a Honda CRX was the shiznit because of the shape of its hatch. Would always pick up a few DBs in that car

I used to have a Chevy spectrum hatch back way back in the days 90s -2000- wasn't as nice a car like the CRX but the shape was nice inside. Had good cabin gains for low end
Don't forget an old school Chevy blazer. Mine was an 83 or 84 Chevy blazer. 2 Pyle pounders in a sealed box all alps. This was back when I was 18. Early 90s. I kid you not the bass was competing with some of the best ground pounders back in the day. Including T-towns infamous Foss car audio van. And if you can compete with an audio shops top bass machine. Your right. Just the acoustical value of a well sealed hatch, trunk makes all the difference. Man I miss that blazer! Had 84,000 miles one owner I purchased for 2 and a half racks.
Of course there were other examples of good sealed vehicles. The only brother other than Foss van was an all black pinto wagon with bazookas. Twas a sound to behold.

Scion Tc's get pretty loud. I'm closing in on 150db @ 28hz, single driver in the same car. Very minimal effort into this temp setup I'm running now. I could do 50+ all day at higher frequencies if I tune the port higher, I just prefer the lows.
I bet this setup is trailing right behind. Looked like it was killing lows pretty good!

@@josegiraldez6230 thanks man! I should have more videos posted this week on my channel. Last night, in my friend Alex's 4dr aluminum f150, we almost got to 150 at 32 hz. Same exact sub setup but, he runs 2 Taramps Smart 3ks. I run 2 SAZ3500d's, the old OG Amps. So far in the TC I've done 148.8 @28hz in a box I built for my F250, I'll be doing more work and testing this evening. There's a ton more to be had, the box is totally wrong for the car by a long shot. Just playing with it and see what I can get out of it.
I'm really impressed with his setup in the F150, I never thought 150 could be so easy. I built both setups not knowing we would be able to get this loud so easy. These DD9918's ain't no joke. The TC will be a piece of cake. Then we will attend this competition in grand junction Colorado this Sunday(I'll have footage), and start building again. Something much more serious this time for both vehicles.

I wonder if you could record with a zoom and actually hear the bass. I can tell it's loud but there's no way to get how fast or accurate it's playing or if it's distorting. No idea how it images.
Wear good headphones and it makes certain vids way more informative and entertaining
My buddy had 4 kicker comps back in the day. The originals. Amp I believe Caustic. People could not believe the sound. Also 4 comp 8s and all the mids and highs kicker. We had cds back then. It was a hell of a system.

You would be impressed with my 1 12" RE audio with a KS 1200.1 arc audio amp. It don't sound like a lot but it bangs the windows on the house. It sounds as good as a lot of guys who have 2 twelves. It ruined my push to start control module and my moon roof. Proper input signal to the amp, gain low. Direction of the woofer and port. Big Box to utilize the full low-end excursion. When the specifications of the sub says "fs 28 hz" I hit it!

In my aunt's eyes which I laughed at her when she said she had the best sound system in Rhode island and everyone else system was distorted and sounds like shit. But from what I see on this video I would have a headache after a few mins. I love bass but this is insane and I love it. Come wire up my van I have 4- 12 in bass subs and 2-15 in JBL xr100 club speakers that I'm dying to hear.
hatchbacks always hit harder in my experience.
There is a reason CRXs are sought after cars for the lanes. Hatch back short wheel base. Less cab to pressurize makes big numbers easier. SUVs and wagons also. Just have to go bigger because of more cabin.

Lots of people have been talking trash about sfb amps.They are to sensitive and sound quality isn't the the best. Tried to use a 2000.1 sfb for some mids and I got an annoying buzzing after hooking it up.
Not the worst amp but I'll never buy another 1
They are the cheap line for a reason. You have some good frequency filtering. Can't run a full tilt setup on a damn line converter.

Idk why so many people face their subs up or forward. For a setup like in this video, facing them to the rear is going to wake that bass up! 🔊 it's going to hit more notes and probably the lower notes most drastically.
Not true. I have a Ford Focus St hatchback and facing my subs up with port to rear is the best sound I have gotten out of my 2 10's L7 Q class. Faced to rear with the box size I needed put the subs too close to the hatch wall. In a hatchback facing the subs up will always be louder than facing rear. You are right about the subs facing forward though. In my car it was very weak.

I just checked out your channel. Nice custom made box. Those 12's are hitting hard. You have the same issue I have. With your 12's you have a box built so big the only choice you have is to have the subs facing up. I first used a pre-fab box and had it facing backward. It sounded good. The cubic foot per sub wasn't ideal though. I believe it was 1.20 cf per sub. The smallest recommended size is 1.25 cf. With that size of a box I was able to scoot the box right up against the rear seat leaving a lot of space between the subs and the hatch door. Next I bought a pre-fab box that had 2cf per sub. The outer dimensions were huge. I felt if I put the box in with subs facing rear the hatch door would be right up against the subs. So I put them in facing forward. The bass was weak. Not enough space for the bass wave to form adequately. I didn't like it at all. I finally turned the box around with them facing backwards. It was definitely louder but needed all bass volumes up to make good,loud sounds. The smaller box sounded better in my opinion. It had more room to develop that bass wave. With the bigger box the sub was just a couple of inches from hatch door. The sound coming out from that setup was muffled by the hatch. I was going to go back to the smaller box when I decided to go custom. I wanted subs up with aeroport out to hatch door. What a huge difference!
Had to turn gains down significantly. Best the bass has sounded in my car period. Quality bass,high and low(SQL). I have 2000 rms going to both subs and the subs take it all(sub rated at 750 rms)
@@dman09191964 hell yeah bro! Yeah my friend and i custom built the box. Its 1.75 cubic ft per sub. It hits the lows so nice and also the highs too! The port is the perfect size. I had to prefab boxes in there before the custom and they sounded good as well, but barely fit. They both were facing the rear and were about 4 inches apart, so i put a piece of foam in between the boxes so they wouldnt slide into eachother and the back of one box smash into the front of the other box. The custom box sounds way better though, and i actually got 3 more db. Went from 147db to 150db. The other day i cut out the rear deck and now its even louder! The hole works like another port.

Where you located? Got a pretty similar setup but with skar audio vxf 12s, Memphis Mojo Pro mids and highs, all powered by Hifonics Brutus Elite series amps. 2.5k on the subs, 800x4 on the mids and highs. I’ll even throw in the 3 shuriken batteries i have for an absolute steal
