The back door straps are nice. I like how he is maximizing his output with one sub instead of using cone area. You kind of have to with that small vehicle.
@@RomaVilla He is using the straps to keep his doors from moving too much, which will make pressure loss, or loss of loudness. He is using lots of power and a big box instead of multiple subwoofers on lower power to get output. You either double power or double cone area to get louder, you will run out of the ability to double power quickly, so people add more subwoofers. This car is small, so he cannot add lots of drivers. He keeps the panel flex down to make the pressure felt by the person higher.

Steve Meade had nothing to do with them beyond lending the SMD brand name. It was purely a marketing venture. Ascendant Audio were 100% responsible for the design, manufacture and distribution of the driver. The man who designed the Ascendant Audio SMD drivers was Scott Atwell. Ascendant Audio then merged with Scott Atwell's company, Fi Car Audio, before ceasing trading. As you're probably aware, Fi Audio make some of the very best subwoofers available. So, if you're looking for a subwoofer as capable as the one in this video, Fi Audio is where to shop! FYI, before Scott founded Fi Audio he created/owned RE Audio (makers of the infamous XXX subwoofer). A single 15" is all ya need unless you've just got hundreds of Amps overhead. 3KW is gonna be more than enough for most 15s, which will require atleast a 200A alternator. If ya don't have the alt power, no point in putting more than 1-15" in
I wonder if these guys have ever looked at roll cages for race cars? A 10 point cage with bead rolled filler panels to the A+B pillar, along the rop of the windshield, and center of the roof would make everything pretty rigid. It wouldn't exactly have to be a NHRA approved install either.
The doors will still be the weak point, the roof, all sheet metal, its better to lay thicker sheet metal on the surfaces which flex the most, the chassis on unibody cars that are newer are pretty stiff compared to old cars, so a cage wouldnt do basically anything because the job of the cage is to protect in a crash and make the body of the car the crumple zone, of course, it would only work with proper seatbelts and harnesses
