I love how much respect they paid to both characters here.
Dio dominates the fight at first and is as cocky and badass as ever towards the end, but once Alucard lets loose he starts panicking. It really plays into the idea of Alucard being this eldritch horror that even other vampires fear

this is one of the few fights that I have no problem with, yea Dio was a bit overpowered for Alucard in the end they dont choose battles so that power scales are somewhat identical, they just choose battles based on how identical the characters look, how identical their story is or how identical their abilities are, this being the perfect example
Not to mention Alucard's "WTF" face once he sees that Dio is behind him.
I love the detail at 20:51, Dio is standing right next to a knife store, and then he stopped time, and now he has knives in his hands and the windows in the store have now been shattered, meaning he stopped time, smashed through a window to get into the store, stole a bunch of knives, smashed through another window to get out, and then resumed time to continue the fight.
Reminds me of a scene of the Simpsons were Homer screams

I think the only mistake I think they made... Is they slightly oversold Dio's regeneration. He can't die normally sure, but he also can't regenerate to the degree Alucard can. He's never been shown to regenerate limbs- he has to reattach them manually. And a whole plot point was he was stuck as a head for a while.
I still agree that Dio would probably just about won because it's hard to overcome time stop.
dios stand is what won him the fight cause alucard cant even see or touch stands
DIOS regen is massively accelerated when he drinks blood though, which is Alucards weapon, and there are only 2 ways proven to kill DIO, destroying his stand (which Alucard physically can’t do) and sunlight, which Alucard probably wouldn’t figure out (he wouldn’t want to fight in the day anyways, because he said it’s exhausting)

not sure how much i agree with this battle. while i fully agree that dio stomps alucard, if he has no backup lives, i'm pretty sure alucard would be smart enough to recognize that fact.
the question i have is would he even go level 0 against dio? he doesn't really have a reason to do so. he doesn't need the numbers to fight a large number of enemies at once, and he most certainly wouldn't respect dio enough to wish to be killed by him and therefore wouldn't deliberately give him the opening.
the smartest thing alucard could do is just stay at level 1 and abuse the fact he can't be killed until the sun rises, which he most definitely can last that long, considering it took him himself almost 30 years to kill all of his backup lives. alucard doesn't seem to mind the sun, as we saw him openly walk around during the day in brazil, but dio would almost instantly die from exposure.
i get that the idea is that alucard is said to be "strongest" at level 0 and therefore the characters have to go up against each other "at their strongest", but i'm not sure i fully agree with that.
again, the question is whether or not alucard would deliberately expose himself to dio like that and i don't think he would.
(edit: as it was brought up in another discussion, dio's timefreeze is not as op as many claim. while it's true the time gets longer the more he uses it, dio himself claims it took him almost half a year to raise the time by 4 seconds (chapter 257) and the only increase he gets during the battle with jotaro is directly linked to him drinking joseph's blood (chapter 261). it would take dio years if not decades to increase the timeframe in any meaningfull way and it most certainly wouldn't just happen midway during the fight.)
I mean Dio would most likely leave him no choice but to use it, since he has no way of getting passed the time stop( Which Dio could spam over and over) and he would have no way of countering it, so he would have no choice but to use when pushed into a corner
not really, there is really no real reason for alucard to do it. apart from the fact the timefreeze really isn't all that (see the edit to my previous comment), there is no reason for alucard to release all his souls against a single enemy at once, unless he wants to die, which wouldn't against dio. so his best and most likely strategy would just to stall dio out unitl sunrise.
edit: also dio can't just spamm time stop, their wouldn't be a 9 seconds limit if he could spamm it nonstop. in that case their simply would be no limit. dio has to wait at least a few seconds between each freeze before he can pause time again, leaving him vulnerable in the meantime.
@@thechatteringclown i mean they also point out in one of the text boxes at the end of the fight that Dio could simply just use stop time to get away once he notices the sun is coming up and just continue the fight at night again. Dio is no idiot he would notice what Alucards doing if the fight continued for so long

there is no question he can stall dio until sunrise, if he's being smart and doesn't just let himself get killed like an idiot, but can he then use the sun to his advantage. i can come up with a handful of ways that might work, but in the end it's a hard maybe.
still much more open to interpretation than the one-sided way db portrayed it.

Schrodinger doesn't disable his base abilities. Schrodinger disables his soul based abilities. Meaning; He wouldn't be able to create card copies of himself by using Alahambra's abilities, or Rip Van Winkle's magic bullets.
He would still be able to use his own third eye and potentially even Baskerville, which is a familiar and not a soul as well as other abilities he has in his base kit.
But even this is purely speculation based on how he disappears if he can't recognise his own soul. He would be able to use even his soul based abilities as long as he's still able to recognise himself. So clearly this is not a hard limitation.
Secondly, Over Heaven is NOT canon, but even if it was, it wouldn't be effective against Schrodinger. The World Over Heaven is a reality altering ability, Schrodinger defies reality. It's just not effective.
@@Caldera01 one, Araki wrote Eyes of Heaven and Multiple dimensions ARE a thing in main line Jojo, so technically Over Heaven is Canon, and two, Over Heaven undid both Gold Experience Requiem and Tusk Act 3, so I think he could get his hands on Schrodinger

I disagree with their analysis on the fighting style of Alucard. He doesn't do it to wear his opponents down, he does it to gauge their strength so he knows what kind of opponent he is dealing with. Whether that changes how he sees Dio as an opponent I wouldn't know, but I would hazard a guess that because Dio is not a human and definitely not of noble heart, Alucard would do everything in his power to not die. Maybe even find a way to conceal his heart like Davy Jones. :v

How do they assume Dio hypothesis Alucard but not the other way around
Because Alucard has fallen for illusions and hypnosis before. Although what gets me is Dio moving 1500 times faster than light is such an outlier and high ball it makes no sense.

Valid reasoning.
The problem is that there is literally nothing that says Alucard couldn't have both Schrodinger and his normal powers at the same time. The last chapters of the manga, have Alucard return after a several year hiatus and return only to confirm that he has obtained and mastered Schrodinger, and he drinks from Integra. Nothing there says he cannot have both. If you omit Schrodinger's powers, then you're basing him off of his timeline before absorbing him, and this would mean that Alucard couldn't break the seals that hold him from reaching level 0 without specific instruction from Integra. Either way you put it, this battle was slightly borked. I never necessarily cared much for the weird math they do comparing it to TNT, because TNT is a force that equates to equal force in all directions, an explosion, where things like laser beams or punches are directed energy being applied to a small area. Which is why 1 punch in Jojo's doesn't just completely and utterly obliterate the planet. Furthermore, moving that fast is virtually impossible if you're trying to go by mathematical equations. Objects moving at a fraction of the speed of light spontaneously combust into molten matter-- moving that fast would literally cremate the object into nonexistence because of friction forces, this object being a body made of flesh.
I will agree that DIO would **probably** win even without the dumb math overall because I agree that the villains and characters of Jojo's are generally stronger than the villains and characters of Hellsing, but the reasoning they gave is kinda trash to be honest. To really see these things, you should compare their rivals and their abilities, as well as what it took to kill or defeat them. Then compare the strengths and weaknesses, we don't need impossible math. I will agree that Stone Vampires cannot be affected by holy weapons (i.e. Alucard's guns), however, DIO almost died from getting brained 1 (ONE) time. It's also interesting to me that we don't get to see much of Alucard's other abilities. Like the fact that Alucard is technically not made of flesh, but a dark otherworldly substance that is completely impervious to mundane/otherwise conventional types of damage, and he simply allows his body to look like it's been injured to toy with his prey more. Also, going back to my previous point, Alucard is only vulnerable at level zero. If Integra isn't there to give specific permission (i.e. pre-Schrodinger), then he technically can't die, it's just a matter of how long it takes to regenerate back from a pile of goo that he purposely disguises himself as to get an upper hand in his methods of toying with his prey.
They mentioned that stands can interact with intangible objects so the world would probably be able to hurt him.
Let's disprove this in parts:
#1: The reason for the sentence "Alucard cannot have Schrödingery his normal powers", comes to the fact that Alucard had to sacrifice and expel all his souls, when he absorbed Schrödinger, if it is supposedly true, that Alucard can have both powers, why did he expel all his souls, and stay only with Schrödinger's?
#2: Several things in real life do not apply in Anime, in Jojo's we can literally see invisible ghosts, shouting "Ora Ora Ora", to say that Dio is not FTL, because The World would "burn", is more than wrong, you are simply "Over-Exploring" a logic not applied in the Stands and Anime in general.
#3: And Alucard went to Level 0, because of time issues, Death Battles have a time limit, they can't last 10 minutes for example, that's why they jumped directly to Alucard Level 0, even with that, Dio would still have the advantage, Alucard can't touch or reach Dio, and Dio has everything to protect himself.
#4: And bro, "TNT" is the measure used in the versus, it's not 100% real, it's just a measure to compare the opponents, it's not based on "Explosions", but in general strength.

Hey people, question, how would Alucard Get passed THE WORLD plus time stop and Dios space ripper stingy eyes, this is a genuine question cause i want to imagine a scenario were Alucard wins and i only think of him Doing that by attacking in the intervals between Time stop but then i remember he cant see THE WORLD and he needs to get passed it plus DIO's ranged Eye attack

Ik someone are going to follow up my reply about Schrodinger ability since im not well verse about it but i welcomed for the explanation.
By logic, u just cant and Dio stand is classified as one of the strongest stand because of that ability. The problem for Alucard is his weapon is inffective and even got hit, Dio would resort his stand right in front of him since physically nothing can hurt it
Another problem to Alucard is he cant get closer. He get rip to shred by his stand instantly since Dio raw power are upclose. Conclusion, time stop ability is just outward broken to any anime or movie series due to fact you can do almost anything to your opponent or H protagonist prey
Now let say Alucard have Schridinger( again, im not well verse on this part so some part i can be wrong). Someone mention to me that it exist in quantum physic where time can coexist in there, meaning even Dio stop time, it is useless against Schrodinger because they can be in part of frozen world. But assume it does, result would be different, Alucard would still get rip to shred since he cant rely on greater power at a same time but he can close gap to Dio without worry about time stop. I would say a chance are 50/50 Alucard to win because the longer the match, Dio would think of something else to win it since he using a brain wisely when favor isnt his side
I did say assume it was the case cause i never know the fact Hellsing Schrodinger can exist in timestop or not, much like fire element in anime where one can easily put it out with water while the other anime cant due to need something to do to get rid of it, hence same as Schrodinger. Schrodinger is a hard topic in any place to begin with and i myself may get wrong to this
@@divider928 I know this is late but yes, Schrodinger is the answer to how Alucard would win (and should have won here). Schrodinger's powers allow alucard to exist and/or not exist, be everywhere and/or nowhere, be alive and/or dead completely at will. "I think therefore I am". If Alucard thinks of himself being alive, then he literally cannot die no matter what as long as he thinks that. So if DB was unbiased/bothered to do accurate research, there is literally no possible way for Dio to kill him without convincing him that he's dead (which just straight up wouldn't happen). Not even over heaven dio with reality bending would be able to do anything as Schrodinger Alucards existence cannot be determined by another's will, only Alucard can determine his own existence and/or nonexistence with Schrodinger's powers. Which also means that yes, if Alucard recognizes that time is stopped (which he can because he can kinda see into the future) then Alucard would not be effected by time being stopped. He could literally think "I'm not time stopped" and he would be fine

Schrödinger is not the exception, he died when he was absorbed by Alucard, not when he decapitated himself.
To say that Alucard and Schrödinger think by themselves is wrong, the only one who thinks and is conscious is Alucard, Schrödinger is only a soul that is inside Alucard, and forces Alucard, to not be able to absorb another one, because it is an attempt against his own life.

Honestly I think they should just stop using JoJo characters ENTIRELY unless thier opponent has a counter to Stands because without that the fight is a total wash. The Stand will always get in the way to protect their user and because their opponent has no counter to it they literally couldn't kill them.

Not quite sure I agree with the battle. Since like... If the point of death battle is to take characters at their peak, then where were alucard's other opponent's that he'd eaten. Like the woman with her rifle and such. Not saying the outcome is wrong, but... Not exactly fair to not have one character at their peak power. They did the same thing in Aizen vs Madara with them not using thousard year blood war Aizen.

I know i am late in this video, but how is Dio having World Over Heaven canon? Araki may have wrote it but its from altogether different timeline and is considered by numerous fans to not be canon because it destroys primary aspects of the begining of JoJo. Whereas Alucard's mastery of Schrodinger's is actually put into the manga and is a canon. That is because it does not jump into an alternate reality like Dio's World Over Heaven, where he beat the JoStars. That makes quites literally zero sense. Feels like the guys who make Death Battle were like, we like Dio more and he should win. When Alucard is quite literally a paradoxical being capable of anything so long as it is unobserved. He would be both alive and dead, both there and not. Everywhere and yet nowhere. They are basically saying that Alucard, who is essentially a god and tethered into the very fabric and fundamentals of any and every universe, is beaten by Dio. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever

Honestly who thought this was a fair fight? You pitting somebody with faster than light feats against somebody with faster than sound feats. That's like Kid sasuke trying to fight adult Sasuke. Not even a chance.
Speed isn’t everything in fight as if other stats in your favor like durability and attack potency you can still get a win depending on how big it to your opponent like bardock vs Omni man is a good example. But yeah Alucard sadly doesn’t have other two stats as dio was also far stronger and durable.
When Death Battle was still growing, I remember wanting Alucard vs Ghost Rider. Thought it would make a cool "East vs West" match-up that wasn't Goku vs Superman.

Fun fact: the power of the world has gone through changes in the manga countless times due how broken Dio was. The original Dio was supposed to use his vampire abilities, the world would have the abilities of all the stands and control of the actual worlds( like change the rotation of the planet, stop time, turn off gravity etc). Later they changed to the world could steal stand abilities that is why jotaro was able to stop time becuz time stop was his ability but it was stolen. They ran out of time to put on the story so the current one is the result.
And that's not true at all. The things that you see on the internet aren't true most of the time. Araki said that "The World and Star Platinum were the first stands ever made. And I wanted them to counter each other so I gave them both the ability to stop time". They both had their abilities first. And we have seen sp stop time before the fight against dio. Nah he loses, it wasn’t biased the researcher all agreed dio win, he massive gap in stat trinity of strength, speed and durability and while alucard has better abilities and hax they were basically worthless as dio to fast and tank to do get any significant damage and even he dose, alucard strongest weapon uses blood and dio regen goes with faster with that, he unintentionally giving out free med kits too dio if he want to do massive damage

He was the bird of Hermes a literal god and had to eat his wings to keep himself tamed. There’s no way for Alucard to die to Dio at all, strength they’re about equal as well. The main writer for this fight though is a big Jojo fan apparently though and wanted Dio to win. There’s no way for Dio to win against Alucard especially since he can’t kill him.

With Schrodinger’s soul mixed in with the consciousnesses of the other 3.5 million souls Alucard had consumed, he was incapable of recognizing himself anymore, and incapable of determining his quantum state. Because of that, he could no longer affirm his existence and thus faded from reality that why it break lore to have both power added as both power made him fade from existence

They had Alucard win in The DBX a few years back, and when they discussed this matchup on their podcast a couple years back they agreed Alucard would win. Him losing now is by no means bias.
