I'm so glad to see all of the comments here. I feel, sometimes, that I'm the only one who remembers him. I'm so glad that I am wrong. Rest in peace, Steve. The crocodiles on earth still cry, yet those that passed before you rejoice.

I´m from Czech Republic and everybody here knows him. I remeber when I saw him on Animal Planet I had to be happy. My English is realy bad , Steve, I know but I must say this: You were THE MAN, you were THE HOPE for wild animals, you were HOPE for people and finally you ARE still in my (our?) heart(s) and will forever. Thanks for your contribution to this planet.

I saw a few of his documentaries on the Animal planet channel, his point of view on life was extraordinary. He was in love with life and everything that had to do with it. He was a great dad. One of the greatest man that ever lived. I cryed half way trought the documentary, his little girl loved him, its so sad that shell grow up and he wont be there for her. He will be missed.

To those who misunderstand this great man, I want to say this. He had a tremendous respect for the wild and never harmed an animal. He had a great love for his work and those who never saw him work need to really do some research. He was an idol of mine because of his wonderful commitment to his work. I am not going to include any words in here to make myself sound tough. I am simply stating that those of you who seem to misunderstand Steve really need to take a second look.

I am not one to remember things. But I remember what he has done to my life. He had a way of expressing himself. He was, no, he IS one in a million. Jumping in danger, not knowing if he will live. He was happy and he changed the world. One of the few men to do so. When he died I cried deeply. Tears fill my eyes as I type this. Steve, if anyone deserves to live forever, it is you. Rest in peace.
