A wise Buddhist monk in Thailand told me that Buddhism is not a religion.
Buddhism is a way of life and a training methodology to enlightenment.
This is correct.

Every religion and Spiritualism is a way of life. Everything produces fruit and the fruit from it all that is produced is wicked destruction.
This should be taught in schools. All around the world . And maybe if we listen and understand it . The world would be a better place
I'm in my 30s and have always considered myself open to different ideas and beliefs. I've never heard teachings and practices that so align with my own natural way of thinking and seeing the world/myself as I've heard in this short audiobook. It's a really beautiful feeling. I'm very excited to learn more. Thank you for this.
Thank you for sharing.
There has never been a war fought in the name of buddha . The tao is also very good.
Me too, Joey.
Thank you

I’m 61 been unhappy all my life, I started looking for my happiness and find that Buddhism sits right in my soul and feels so natural thank you for this book it’s a great help to understand my new road to happiness,
Don't forget to reject the duality of life
Hi Buddha said “ there is no road to happiness. Happiness is the road!” Living in the present is the key to happiness so instead of looking just feel it! 🙏❤️peace be with you🙏
I grew up Christian and I'm an atheist now. I do not believe in, or follow any religion, but I do align with many Buddhist principles. Thanks for posting this💚

What makes Buddha more relevant is that he was a human being just like us. He felt pain, anxiety, loss, desire, happiness and sorrow
Exactly
It leads you to nothing and when something bigger and out of your control comes against your Buddhism or whatever Spiritualism you a Tree attached to is nowhere to be found so you seep back into the same as you were before. Yet, you will continue to let it rule over you as long as you feel better abd don't have to take accountability for all that you've done. Floating around with no foundation is why you keep ending up dry and depressed. Theres no power outside of the Living God YHWH ELOHIM ADONAI and His Word. Youll continue on the same path of roller coaster emotions until you leave this Buddhist nonsense behind and follow the True Christ Yeshua and His commands by the Word of YHWH ELOHIM ADONAI. I hope this offends and cuts you deeply so that you will see what is really inside yourself instead of believing the lies that Buddhism tells you so that you continue into bondage of yourself and your imaginations having no real power to actually overcome the things of life.

You were not 'born Buddhist'.
You became a Buddhist.
If you had been born somewhere else, you would have been something else.
You are indeed lucky to have been born in the midst of a life philosophy many people like me take years to learn about.
You were born a man ......
Of all the religions - Buddhism is the best model for life and society.
I am an atheist but want to become a buddhist and this is helping
Thsnk you for watching.
Practically, atheist and buddhist are similar...am Buddhist and I was never force to attend buddha teaching in my life .nor by monks or family even they are so religious. But it's very important to find a good and qualified guru......
There is no reason to consider the conflict. Its irrelevant

Listening to this calm and humble voice is the opposite when commercial lies interrupt it. But it is a great example to compare the difference between Buddha and the world. Almost all humans under control of media and commercial lies that take you eternity to the Abyss. Positive is in consequence with negative, just be conscious. Conscious mind is a light shining into your heart.

Thanks for sharing. Well explained and very informative. I'm living in my van and alone almost 100% of the time but rarely do I feel lonely as I have me, myself, I, and all the surrounding nature around me to get to know and enjoy.
I meditate a lot...in many forms, sitting, standing, laying down. And I TRY not to let negative and toxic energy get into me.
Thank you for sharing your peace.
The way to get to deep meditation is when after u exercise, physical and mentality has to come together
I hope to live the same way☮️✌️

I have been interested in Buddhism since the 1980s. But that last 3 or 4 years I have been trying to follow the tenets of Buddhism. It is very difficult -- but I am working on it every single day. I can see how Buddhism is the right way to live.
We each have our own path...peace be with you.
Thank you. BUDDHISM in nut shell. I recommend to everyone who wants to know what is Buddhism. It also gives answers to the misconcepts about Buddhism.
Thank you dor watching.
I’ve been meditating for a yr almost every morning and before bed time and I am getting all benefits what this book is talking about slightly, gradually. It is not easy but if you stick with it you will know meditation is the most valuable challenge that can change your life.

Thank you.
Modern research on Near Death Experience by Raymond moody, reincarnation memories by Ian Stevenson/Jim trucker and past lives regression by Brian Weiss all independently but coincidentally show that our consciousness survive death, we live many lives and our thoughts and actions matter in the hereafter. This is in line with Buddhist teachings.
So be kind and helpful to others, be virtuous, meditate and cultivate ourselves to higher spiritual levels. Cheers.
Although, if one needed to put a label on it I suppose you could say I am Christian, as I do strongly believe in and try to follow the teachings of Jesus, however when I read about Buddhism I see how much I just naturally live more of this lifestyle in many ways as well.
I always say I am not a person learning how to be spiritual, I am a spiritual learning how to be a person.
And I truly feel that way.
I believe very much in kindness towards all living beings, to the very best of our ability.
I also feel like if we set a goal to each day try to be a better human than we were the day before (no matter your faith or religion) , then we should always be on the right path ❤️
Thank you for sharing.
I have been listening to this over and over for over a week now, and it has been exponentially helpful to me, as I fell off my path of practicing a couple of years ago, and have been wanting to get back into it, and I absolutely love this book.
May you find your way...peace be with you.

I don't claim to have attained anything complicated. To enjoy my breath and cease emotional reactions to circumstances is what Buddhism (so far) is to me. For my ultimate fate, I trust Jesus' love. For my moment-to-moment mental health, I enjoy my breath and I cease struggling. The two perspectives West and East are One.
Amen.
East and West are two siblings, the understand u can only reach if u understand religion. It dont mean spezific one but all at "once".... the meaning hide behind all and nothing.... it sounds hard but the islam got me to the understanding of the meaning from the ghost of the time. So how can i tell u Christian, Islam, Buddism... the order of the religion is not important, the important thing is the "ghost" behind all. So how can i tell my childs they belive in the wrong religion and talk against u.
I apologise for my gramma...
Have a nice day and stay clean.
Thank you so much for sharing this, cannot begin to describe how meaningful it is to have discovered this.

Just a start. All Buddhist schools up until now are at an elementary school level except Falun Dafa.
how Buddhism encourages individuals to rely not on blind faith, but on personal experience and practice. The Buddha's advice to his followers to test his teachings like goldsmiths test gold - by examination and not by faith alone - is frequently noted for its rational approach

For the first time I meditated listening to this. I was able to push your voice to a back corner somewhere, where I could still hear you but I was focused on my breathing and relaxing my body. At some point a warmth and deep relaxation started in my chest and stomach and radiated outwards. The joy and love were so pure and pleasurable i cried for the first time in years. There was no sadness to it, I think I just couldn't deal with the intensity of the feeling. I started shaking a bit too. I can't believe this..thank you very much for sharing, this is changing my life already.

That is awesome! Good for you. I need to try this. I have the mindset, but I seem so scattered.
@@thelong-hairedleapinggnome7939 I'm new to it, all I can say is don't force it. You have to relax completely and let your random thoughts just kind of fade away. It was available as an ebook in an application called Storytel in Turkey, but it was in English. I wanted to translate it into Turkish and I translated it. If you can help me, I would like to share it with Turkish people. I didn't want to do anything with the book without your permission. Very simple and effective way to explain what Zen is. It's written in a way can everyone understand what it is and what is the purpose in it. Well done sir.

Skip kindergarten altogether. All Buddhist schools up until now are at an elementary school level except Falun Dafa.
@@jeffforsythe9514 wrote, _"Skip kindergarten altogether. All Buddhist schools up until now are at an elementary school level except Falun Dafa."_
Falun Gong, (Chinese: “Discipline of the Dharma Wheel”) also spelled Falungong, also called Falun Dafa, controversial Chinese spiritual movement founded by Li Hongzhi in 1992. The movement’s sudden prominence in the late 1990s became a concern to the Chinese government, which branded it a “heretical cult.”
Falun Gong is an offshoot of qigong (Chinese: “discipline of the vital breath”), an amalgam of traditional medical and self-cultivation practices developed in the early 1950s by members of the Chinese medical establishment as part of an effort to promote traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in modern socialist China. Although some members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) attacked such practices for their “superstitious” nature as well as for their links to religion and spirituality, proponents of TCM managed to carve out a place for qigong and other similar therapies alongside biomedicine.
Qigong was available in some clinics and sanatoriums in the 1950s and early ’60s but was banned during the Cultural Revolution (1966-76) for its “feudal” history. It received a new lease on life in the late 1970s, when a purported laboratory discovery of the material existence of qigong energy dovetailed with a fundamental change in state policy away from revolution and toward science and economic development. Overnight, qigong became “scientific,” a change in status that led to state approval for qigong activities.
Out of this conjuncture developed the qigong boom, a roughly 20-year period, spanning the 1980s and ’90s, when hundreds of millions of Chinese were drawn to a wide variety of qigong schools and practices in the socially freer post-Mao Zedong era. The leading figures in the boom were charismatic qigong masters such as Yan Xin and Zhang Hongbao, who built nationwide organizations, sold qigong manuals, and gave talks in sports arenas and other large venues, which believers paid to attend. The masters were supported by qigong magazines and newspapers and by best-selling biographies of the masters themselves. Behind the scenes were government and military figures who believed that the study of qigong could be the key to creating a “Chinese science” that would expand human potential and propel China to the forefront of the developed world. Although average practitioners were likely to have been drawn to qigong for health reasons, other currents in the qigong movement included experiments with alleged paranormal phenomena and extrasensory perception (ESP) as well as a wide variety of spiritual and cultural pursuits. It should be emphasized, however, that most advocates of qigong regarded it as a self-cultivation practice with a scientific basis and not as a religion, which is heavily regulated in China.
Although the qigong movement had high-level supporters, it also had detractors, who condemned qigong as superstition and chicanery. By the early 1990s such critics had gained the upper hand in swaying China’s political authorities. It was in an effort to restore the qigong movement’s flagging fortunes that Li Hongzhi in 1992 founded Falun Gong (“Discipline of the Dharma Wheel”), whose name referred to the revolving wheel that Li promised to install in his followers, purifying their bodies “in another dimension” and freeing them from bodily concerns. Li’s original message sought to dispel qigong’s associations with fraud and faith healing by emphasizing “higher-level cultivation.” He also initially gave his lectures free of charge, relying instead on sales of his books and other Falun Gong paraphernalia. Whether it was the message or the man, Falun Gong grew rapidly in popularity, and Li followed the familiar path of other charismatic qigong masters, giving dozens of well-attended high-profile talks and building a large nationwide organization between 1992 and 1995. Estimates of the number of Falun Gong’s adherents during this period vary greatly, ranging from about 2 million to 60 million.
However, the advent of Falun Gong did not end criticism of the qigong movement, whose revival turned out to be short-lived. In early 1995 Li decided to resettle in the United States in the apparent hope of avoiding political problems caused by the continuing denunciation of qigong in the Chinese media. His departure changed Falun Gong in a number of ways. First, upon leaving China, Li announced that his newly published text Zhuan falun (1994; “The Revolving Dharma Wheel”)-in fact a transcription of a nine-part lecture series-would henceforth serve as the focus of Falun Gong practice. Followers were to read and reread the sacred text, sustaining their relationship with Master Li as they did so. That change was important in the context of the broader qigong movement, in which manuals had traditionally served as how-to books and guides to cultivation but not as sacred texts (although Zhuan falun could be downloaded from the Internet for free, followers were not allowed to write on the pages of the work). The content of Zhuan falun also stressed demonic and apocalyptic themes that other qigong texts had only hinted at.
Second, despite Li’s absence and the generally falling fortunes of qigong and Falun Gong, most Falun Gong followers in China continued to believe that their practice was completely legal, as high-level debates on the subject within the government had been inconclusive. Accordingly, when faced with media criticism, Falun Gong followers reacted by peacefully demonstrating at the offices of newspapers and television stations. Finally, in a massive and unannounced gathering on April 25, 1999, some 20,000 Falun Gong adherents protested outside CCP headquarters in Beijing.
That demonstration, which took party leaders completely by surprise, marked the end of the qigong boom and largely sealed the fate of Falun Gong as a Chinese movement. The party soon declared Falun Gong to be the greatest danger to state security since the 1989 student demonstrations in Tiananmen Square and banned the movement as a “heretical cult.” However, because of the surprising strength of Falun Gong in the Chinese diaspora-particularly in the United States and Canada-China was not immediately successful in suppressing the movement. Falun Gong followers championed their cause in the Western media as an issue of freedom of religion, until a number of self-immolations by alleged Falun Gong adherents in Tiananmen Square in January 2001 convinced much of the Western media that the group was indeed a “cult” (Falun Gong followers insisted that the immolations were staged by the Chinese government). Falun Gong subsequently established its own media outlets-including the Epoch Times newspaper, the New Tang Dynasty television network, and the Sound of Hope radio network-and continued to resist what appeared to be an ongoing campaign of repression in China.

Absolutely. I feel peace with the many realizations that have come to me about myself through this fabulous book. Such heavy words. Simple but somewhat complicated. I personally became programmed to believe my unhealthy thoughts and behaviors, my patterns and negativity to others and of couse initially to myself. I embraced this unhealthy lifestyle. Suffering and more suffering I allowed/allow myself. Knowing that there is a more better and healthier way to learn differently from these past negative and hurtful ways is something I embrace. I feel relief and peace. It has been lacking in my life for many years. Cannot blame it on "being a blunt and right Scorpio" any longer💖🕊

I dated a covert narcissist and am caught up in psychology to understand minds. This just leads to more grief as focus is placed on pathologies of myself and others. Staring at the problem is not the solution. Prayer, study and practice is the only way to peace and happiness. This is my pledge to return to a good life. The covert will not win.
Peace be with you.

I'm just a learner in English, but I really want to know more the Spiritual Universe and find the way to enlightenment as the teachings of the Supreme Buddha. ♥️
Peace and love to you.
Realize you and the universe are one. Look deep inside become one with yourself. Find whatever you really love to do and do it with the most compassion and love you can give it. That is how you ripple the affect to others.
Jiddu krishnamurti, the first and last freedom, explains all this the best. There is no "gaining." that is mind, and mind is delusion/DESIRE. It can never help u. It is a trap. Thinking ur getting better at meditation is as lost as u can get. Time is mind and time is not "real." Forgive urself and ur practice.
Enjoyed the book regardless, thanks for sharing! ☯️❤

Buddha's teachings continue to inspire me on my journey to inner peace and mindfulness. Thank you for sharing this profound wisdom."

There are people who are psychopaths and sociopaths. No amount of "loving kindness" will ever change them. They see it only as weakness and take advantage of it. I have no problem with the concept of compassion, but it's hard to have compassion for those kind of people.
Peace be with you.
Thank you for sharing this guide to Buddhism. So much resonates with me, I now need to allow it to just happen. ❤️

An amazing book and especially the teacher! As you explained, we can read again and again, the most important thing is trying to understand and realize in our everyday life the deep messages.
Thank you very much! It is a fact that the illusions that we create makes not only us and our family, but our neighbors and the whole world. So, let's dig out our unnecessary, egoist and selfish behavior for the sake of our own well-being. As we see in our recent world, our seeking of physical and material pleasure destroys our unique world.
Peace be with you.
The big question is: Why do our own minds cause us to suffer so much?? Evolution is a process where living beings become more and more adapted to their environment, not mal-adapted.
**The answer is: We evolved naturally and our minds worked perfectly until about one million years ago; when we started using sticks and stones (technology) to change our environment (tools and weapons). So we now find ourselves in a social and physical environment that is totally different in every way from the social and physical environment in which the mind naturally evolved. So we are now like "fish out of the water". The Buddha tried to teach us to reconnect to our ancient roots in nature. And to disconnect from all the unwholesome distractions of our "current time and culture".
👇In some of the meditating statues of the Buddha, the fingers of his left hand are pointed down to the Mother Earth to signify this concept.
Many thanks, 🙏🙏🙏
