Hello i have an 02 king ranch, I feel the same way, i love this style truck. I hope you plan on a lot more vids regarding your KR. thank you for a very good video
Hey duffy, cool, keep your truck!! These are so hard to find in good shape. Is there anything specifically that you'd like me to cover in a video? I was thinking of doing a tour video. Some of my other KR vids are doing well like the steering wheel replacement and cleaning the seats.

I have a 2003 F150 7700. I love it, it's very reliable/capable. I even bought a 2000 F150 7700 to use as a parts truck to rebuild my engine/drivetrain/suspension/steering. It's a base model (mainly because I wanted manual crank windows) but I upgraded w/rear sliding glass, pop-out windows in the extra cab doors, and fog lights. I hope to keep it on the road for many years.
I have the same truck in black. Engine is the 5.4 triton. The engine finally went at 387,000 Kms. Been so happy with the truck I, am about to put a new rebuilt 5.4 in it and keep on trucking.

Sorry I’m not coming over the mudflaps. I didn’t realize that you had those painted. I hadn’t got to that point in the video but if you can, please tell me what type they are because most mudflaps don’t go around those original fender flares that well.
I replied with links, they are Husky brand, check out the links in my other reply so you can get the exact ones that work with your truck with the flares.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get those mudflaps? I’ve been looking all over for them for my 2001 F150 king ranch edition and I’ve not had any luck so far I’d really like to have the right ones on my truck and preferably the Arizona Blodgett color as well but if I can’t get that I guess I can deal with the black colored ones but like I said, I really want the right ones, my truck starting to get rust in the area of the step guard and especially the rear bumper has gotten a lot of rest on the inside and it’s starting to eat through which eventually I plan to replace the rear bumper but if I do, I’d like to have something to help block some of the Road hazard material from getting back there is easy. How about this time last year I had a 14 point buck jump out in front of me in an area you would not expect one to do. And I live in the country and I’ve dodged and missed countless numbers of dears over the years but this one I could not miss. Luckily, I had a brush guard on my truck, he didn’t protect it all the mechanical important parts of the front end but I had to replace the bumper the grill, header panel and right front fender plus right headlight was cracked and the right turn signal was busted so I only had just bought new ones for each side. Anyways, I noticed my front bumper on the inside I was in great shape so that’s where I’ve came up with the idea that the salt and the grime from the roadways is what caused my rust issue in my rear bumper and underneath my doors onto the cab area, which I’m about to work on and try to stop it from getting worse. I really want to put mud guards on there and I just like them to be the correct ones that match the truck. I bought some aftermarket ones that said Ford on it and with the fender flares that come on it factory it will not look right at all, so I didn’t install them. Which if you were able to give me any information about getting the legit ones it would be so helpful and I would really appreciate it. I just want it to look like it should look not like shit from one king ranch owner to another 00 hundred percent agree with you on the years of these trucks they’re very reliable and just all-around a great truck. Yes they don’t have a shit ton of horsepower torque but if you take care of them, not gonna leave you stranded unless the fuel pump goes out other than that that truck is started up for me pretty much every time I’ve gotten into it and gotten me where I needed to go and the only issues I’ve had is the common issues that happen with all these trucks like the intake, manifold crossover, and a few other small little issues I bought mine in 2005 which is it’s a 2001 it had 42,000 miles on it at that time and now it has 250 with the original exhaust still on it and the only thing really gone wrong with that part of the truck is the exhaust manifold. I’ve got to get changed all night or lasted all the way up until 220,000 miles fuel pump made it to 226,000 water pump is still original knock on wood. I’ve had to change the heater core at 216,000 and I have changed a rear end out due to somewhat of my negligence and not catching it in time. When I bought the truck, I was told that I needed to change all the seals because of the previous owner putting a boat in a lake nearby whenever he could, I had a whole game plan of using my friends stepdad‘s garage that had a lift. I took off work that day, but I never got the parts in advance and I was able to get all of the seals except for the one around the yolk well that came around and hit me in the ass about year and a half to two years later when it started leaking and I never realized until it’s too late by the time I realize that I had metal shavings, but I drove it another nine months and moved from where I was leaving at at that time till another location 60 miles away and made multiple trips with trailers in the rear and last it never went out on me. It did start making a lot of noise but I didn’t have any issues with it. I got a change after all that know how to issue really sense overall, I love this truck I would hate to get rid of it and I tell everybody it’s paid for and I’m going to drive until the wheels fall off and like you said the newer versions are just so problematic that it worries me and scares me to buy one and once they get up in two the newer years closer to the year now there’s so much computer work that I can’t work on it myself, which I do most of my own work to my truck because I don’t trust lotta mechanics to be honest and do the job correctly and thoroughly like they should I’m very by the book and I like it done correctly and write with preventive death techniques on keeping it from having it again. Just anyways, if you could help me out with that I’d really appreciate it and thank you for your time. Also good luck with your truck. It looks pretty damn good and then just FYI mines a charcoal blue also I did update the stereo system with cameras, front and rear plus got a tailgate handle camera as well. So now it’s a little bit more moderate set a times I guess lol.
I got the mud flaps from Amazon these are the front ones amzn.to/3FIBrmO and the rear ones are amzn.to/3zQuagT but the rears don't fit 100% right if you have the same short box as me. They fit the regular and SuperCab trucks just perfectly though. As you can see I made them work pretty darn well!
The factory plastic Arizona beige splash guards are absolutely impossible to find. I watched for years and did eventually find a set of OEM brand new fronts and rears, I have not yet installed them. If you can find the part numbers you can make an alert on eBay for when they are listed you get notified.
These are very dependable trucks and I do not recommend you buy newer. Just keep your truck in top condition and it will last. Personally I had a bunch of rust repair done because these trucks are worth it. The sooner you get on fixing the rust the cheaper the job will be. Don't forget that the rust starts on the back side of the panel so it's always way worse there before it comes through the painted side. I wish I had the tailgate handle camera, I've seen them for sale but they seem pretty expensive for what they are.
I have a 2001 king ranch. The dash paint is staring to come off. I think if yours is too you should make a video on it. That would help out on what i need to figure out what to do. Thanks!
I only have a real tiny scratch I believe so I'm not going to refinish this one. I need to repaint a console on my 93 Mustang, the same procedure would apply but you'd need to find the right paint...
I understand this video is 4 years ago , not even sure if you still own your truck in 2023 , But my question is , did your King ranch have a VCR in center console , for people to watch moves from the back seat .. And if so , have you thought about upgrading to a DVD player .. and how would that be done ???
I still have the truck, it does not have any kind of video player. I would think it's possible to upgrade from VCR to DVD if the video input / outputs on the player are compatible.

Hey InternetDude, been a minute since you posted this, but I’m in the same situation as far as the running boards go. I have virtually the same truck, except in blue, and would like to get the rockers replaced. How much did yours cost you, if you don’t mind sharing?
Hi, I had other work done at the same time and the bill wasn't broken down, just totalled up. I would estimate the rockers and cab corners alone to be around $1,200 (parts & labor). Rates vary depending where you live obviously so it may not be accurate for body shops in your area.
There are 4 plastic clips on them, two on top and two on the bottom. Remove the light sockets and then use a screwdriver to pry the 4 clips from the back. It's a tight fit but that's how I removed them.
I paid about $2,000 which included tax, parts & labor for the cab corners, windshield, rocker replacement, roof work and painting the mud flaps. I paid extra to buy the rockers & flaps.
