Absolutely gorgeous car! I had a 96 cobra back in the day. 03-04 is my dream car. Hopefully I’ll have one after I finish flight school. You’ve got the best looking cobra I’ve ever seen! Nice job.
Very nice! Still my favorite 03 / 04 Cobra on youtube. The 04 Interior with the torch red is just perfect. Jaeger wrenching's comp orange is a close second though.
I bought my '03 convertible brand new from the factory to go with my '99 Cobra convertible. My only mods have been an MGW shifter, Maximum Motorsports IRS urethane bushings, 3.73 rear gears and a Centerforce clutch. I never thought that the clutch was too stiff to begin with, but I replaced mine at 80,000 miles while it still had some life left. I took off the silencer and put in a K&N filter and that has been it. I take it out east a couple of times a year and I like the stock exhaust because it is fairly quiet on the turnpike. It still runs great after all these years with no problems.
Just picked up a 2004 screaming yellow this week w/ 18k miles. It's stock except a cat back, MAF, tb, and 2.81 pulley. Definitely doing the FTBR bushings as soon as I can.
Rode in my buddy’s cobra after it was built back in like 09, was pushing over 700hp when he was done, and he still had stock brakes, scariest ride I ever went on. Lot of people forget brakes as a upgrade and they are one of the most important things you can do once you start increasing hp.
Great video. I also have a 2003 Cobra and I’m the first owner. I’m running flowmaster one chambers, high flow basssni x pipe, Steeda cold air, Steeda short throw shifter, Eibach springs.
One thing you did forgot is the cooling mod the rear cylinder heads drivers side and passengers side the stock cooling system doesn't get enough coolent 2 them and u slowly start losing compression..had to get my cylinder honed and new rings same thing happened to my father's we both have 03's
My dad bought his 03 cobra brand new and he took it to a place called alternative performance and had the blower ported had nitrous put on it and some other stuff I don’t know about right now
You should've started out by suggesting to replace spark plugs with a colder plug, fuel filter replaced, bigger MAF, and check intercooler pumps function before upgrading the pulley or anything else....
Slick car! How much HP do you expect to push with the smaller pulley, proper tune? Stock Cobra's get just under 400HP, so I assume it's closer to 425 HP with those mods, if not more? Again, slick car! You've clearly taken care of this vehicle. I have seen tons of Mustangs from this era in my area and most are in poor condition.
@@KyleSVT Nice! That's some real power, and you haven't exactly done anything to lessen life-span of the vehicle. Love the red and black! I like either that or White and Black. Rims really stand out on this vehicle, but in a good way.
I have a 03 cobra and if im not mistaken I noticed you have the 18in saleen rims on yours. Will the stock SVT center cap fit the saleen rims? If not how did you get the SVT center caps to fit yours. Thanks!
Yea just an fyi ur back cylinders might get so hot it might burn ur valve seat. So yea i would deffinitly. I have a 04 mysticchrome cobra and that happend and it is mostly stock and that happend. U should deffinitly do it. It will save u alot of time and money
I never run the car hard enough for it to get that hot. Usually happens with wide open in 5th and 6th gears. The 04s have the revised heads as well so it's even more rare for that to happen
@@daltonhunter4049 happened to mine with only 28k and I don't beat on it take it out on weekends never been to the track..it happens and some never realize it..its not that expensive and so worth it
I mean I guess nothing wrong with age just please take really good care of it lol. When you get older you’ll appreciate the car and know that you’re buying a legendary piece of ford SVT history. I’m in the market for a black coupe as well. I’ve owned my GT for 8 years but I’ve always wanted a Cobra.
@@KyleSVT I have kind of your same mods, mine have 2.8 pulley, long tubes and borla catback, accufab single blade throttle and plenum, 4:10 gears, jlt CAI ram air, afco dual pass heat exchanger, I guess I'm somewhere around you hp numbers or more?
@@KyleSVT nice would see. My next mod have to be the IRS bushings but it will cost me a lot because I don't know how to do it and don't have the tools to do it.
Subframe connectors is 1st mod especially in a vert I cant belive ford let the verts leave the factory with the amount of power and the shitty chassis ! The bolt on factory subframe connectors are absolute shit ! Just had stifflers full length connectors installed huge difference now ! Great engine but shitty chassis im coming from an 08 vette z51 package so its a bit disappointing in the cobra next mod is front and rear strut braces .
Great video for new cobra owners!

KyleSVT did you order your bushings directly from FTBR or did you get them through another source?

These things still hold its resale value pretty well average cost of $20k for the 2003 and up.
Wish they were still 20k I’d be in one oh well swapping a 03 top end on a bullitt fuck it sra anyway
Your video was awesome man. Informative and just great. I have an 04 slightly modded and need to know what to do next this helped a lot! Thank you
Thanks brother! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video perfect mods and details on why you did them. Gives me some ideas for my Mach 1

Hey Kyle, do you only have the front brakes upgraded? Thanks!

I have those same wheels in chrome, did you have to get yours powder coat or did they came like that
I ordered them in black
Hey bro can you put a mod list in the description or comments?? New sub by the way!!
Thanks for subscribing brother! Here is a video where I go over all the mods on the cobra ua-cam.com/video/qfRLg1fWIiE/v-deo.html
Would you recommend an idler for a 2.8 pulley? If so a 90 mm or 100 mm?
Yea I probably would put an snub idler on it. Not sure on size tho
If I upgrade the pully will the engine be a risk since it’s making more boost?
Will I need engine mods before upping the boost
I would get a tune so it is safe
Where'd you get your blacked out badges?
ua-cam.com/video/XHeZQPHS_g8/v-deo.html
With the 2.76 supercharger pulley what size idler pulley did you go with? 100mm?
you talking about the snub idler?
Yea bro, I see they have a 90mm and a 100mm snub idler on American muscle

yes sir!
