  • In a sport where 8 seconds is everything, every hour of training and preparation only takes on greater significance. At just 21 years of age, Professional Bull Rider Keyshawn Whitehorse knows this as well as anyone. Growing up on a Navajo Reservation in southern Utah, he didn’t have the advantage of training with real bulls or horses, so he used makeshift barrels to develop his balance and strength. Today, as one of the top performing rookies on the PBR circuit, Whitehorse still knows it takes an unwavering work ethic to realize the full promise of one’s natural talent. Strength training and an unremitting mental fortitude, just like those unruly barrels, have become essential to his performance, and ultimately, his success. #ryourogue

    The strait salt is this comment section is astounding.
    If the argument is going to be made that bull riding is animal cruelty, would this apply to equestrian sports too? What about dogs that are bred just to help hunt birds? In all these situations an animal is bred to have one single purpose in its life. So where does the line cross from being OK to animal cruelty.
    Also I’m wondering if people are mixing bull fighting and bull riding into the same sport. Animals that are used for fighting is animal cruelty, that I fully agree with. For only a couple of seconds every or every other week these bulls are treated with the highest of care and respect, a type of lifestyle that these bulls would have never gotten any other way.
    I applaud Rogue for expanding its brand into different fields of sports. It shows that the company is trying to diversify and become a well established staple of fitness equipment.
    Food for thought

    This isn't a sport, it's animal cruelty. Period. It isn't necessary as this doesn't need to happen. It's not a competition because one participant (the bull) isn't voluntarily participating. The bull is bucking in pain. Rogue, take down this video. We came here for athleticism, but you're giving us animal cruelty.

      Having someone ride you is not likely to be a pleasurable experience, so it's fair to say that at least some degree of pain is involved. The fact that bulls risk injury during these events goes to show that they're far from safe. Furthermore, it is exploitation through and through, and that is undeniable. What level of comfort or luxury some bulls may experience outside of the rodeo is irrelevant to the fact that this is not a sport as it is not consensual. Bull riding is animal exploitation, and exploitation is cruel.

      Morgan Tarantowski - your post speaks volumes to your intelligence. Those bulls weigh close to 1800 pounds with the average rider weighing 150 pounds......that’s the equivalent of a high school student wearing a back pack for 8 seconds........8.5% of their body weight. The bulls in the PBR love to buck, they’re smart enough to understand their job. You’re treating these animals like they are mindless and shame on you for that. Every sport risks injury except yours while you play frisbee with the other nerds. Beat it nerd

    This 'sport' is an example of unnecessary cruelty. Why rogue is promoting something that exploits animals, and causes pain and distress, with an unwilling participant is beyond me. I guess Rogue is ok with supporting animal cruelty.

      At what point are any of these bucking bulls put through unnecessary cruelty? I guarantee these bulls are treated better then you and I, they are also looked at as professional athletes. Make sure you know what exactly you are talking about when commenting on something you have little knowledge of.

      @@realgtz6043 Would it be wrong to use the electric prods on humans? What about pet dogs? What is the difference between a bull and a human (or pet dogs or cats) that justifies enslaving and exploiting bulls for sport? Do I need to have spent time around bulls to ask these questions? There are plenty of videos showcasing the treatment of bulls in bull riding.

    • @neverrepetitive
      @neverrepetitive 5 років тому +3

      @@NW-qw1vg Would it be cruel to enslave another human? Would it be cruel to tie someone up in a way that it forces them to act a certain way (flank strap)? Would it be cruel to prod a person with a electric rod to make them do something? What about if we fed the person well before hand and treated them 'nicely'. Would that make a difference? Now what is the difference between a human and a bull that justifies this difference in treatment?

    • @realgtz6043
      @realgtz6043 5 років тому +3

      neverrepetitive - if you’re going to have an opinion on anything then you should have experience in the subject. Bulls in the PBR are NOT shocked or caged or mistreated. They don’t buck because they are mad or scared or hurt......they buck because they are genetically bred
