4:10 Momon is indeed testing his strength since he's a spellcaster and has no knowledge in sword fighting other than swing hard and hit with the sharp edge. If Lord Touch-Me saw this he'd rust his armor with tears of laughter. They made movies out of the first two seasons as a compilation of each season's episodes with a few added scenes, in the first movie we get to see him walking in the room sitting in his recliner putting on a VR type visor and inserting a cable into a plug installed in the back of his neck to connect to his computer. So the plug probably hard wires into his nervous system through the spine, that's his back story from his real world.
He isn't trapped in the game, sweetie. He was sent to another world with the entirety of Nazarick. It would be like having Wall Maria from Attack on Titan suddenly appearing outside Mexico City, and everyone who lives there coming with. The rules are different than Yggdrasil, thought there are some similarities. What is more, he isn't the first person sent to this new world. The series doesn't do a great job explaining this part. He is the most recent 'arrival'.
He is being really cautious because he doesn't know how things work. He is figuring it out as he goes along.
