I thought the 1840's high fashions, not only for women, but for men, made women look lovely and men handsome!

Thank you. I’ve been looking for a 19th century description of the changes of the fashions. My favorite was the empire line!

I don't think you can get away with wearing any of those 19th century fashions today. The climate is much too warm now. Though I love to look beautiful, I feel comfortable only in tee shirts (flannel shirts in cold weather) and jeans. All of these dresses and gowns were so exquisitely tailored! I loved seeing the color and embellishment in the pictures of the restored or replica gowns. It would also cost an awful lot in money, skill and time to make one of them, even with sewing machines and good patterns.

I love it too!! It is so difficult to choose!!😂 I like 1800s-1810s, the late 1850s early 1860s, and the princess line in the 1870s-1880s 🤔

Thanks for such wonderful images. The prints you featured who was the main artist? The portraits, are they of historical figures?🥰🤔

Of course!! I am so glad you enjoyed!!! They are all by different artists from the given periods! All are original to the time and were painted based on real portraits of family’s and women!

1890s dresses are too puffy on those shoulders larger.
