antho is honestly so relatable 🙁 teenage boys were so horrible man. it was another day for them but the things they said changed the way i see myself forever
High school was defo not for the weak. Im still traumatised from that whole experience. Imagine being a curvy dark skin girl plus I was shy so I stuck out like a sore thumb. The teasing, bullying and touching was relentless.
As a dark skin girl who grew up with acne and nappy hair in a majority white school , what’s crazy is that it was never white people who picked on me and it was always the dark skin boys , it was to the point that it was always my best friends ( white girls ) and everyone else who were sticking up for me . I must say that my experience wasn’t the worst ,as I can definitely say that for majority of secondary I was pretty happy . Even though now I’m considered “attractive “ and have no more acne and learned how to do hair etc , the comments till this day still affect me ,my skin tone is still one of my biggest insecurities even though after secondary school , I’ve never had anything remotely negative happen because of my color , more soo incredibly positive , where I should be over the moon that my skin is dark but , the teasing has still never left me and I’m afraid it will never 😢
Honestly I really like Antho she’s a lovely person, have her on socials and always been really nice to me. I genuinely hate that people bully her for no reason
I really hope this girl makes it in life. Ive seen some of thw online bullying shes faced amd honestly ita disgusting. Wishing nuff happiness and money on you 🎉
It’s self fulfilling prophecy. If us men said we like lightskin girls u would believe us but when we say we like dark skin girls u pretend u didn’t hear it. You hear what u want to hear
It’s hard sometimes u can’t be completely honest about the judgements we get and usually last resort rejection etc most people act like it’s an illusion
46:55 btw spring break is just 1 week long but it depends on the school/college you attend or the school district you live in even as an adult. Spring break also isn’t really a big thing outside of most college students or richer high school students
I think there is a difference between brown skinned and dark skinned. I would consider Naomi Campbell and Lauryn Hill brown skinned. I would consider Lupita Nyong'o and Anok Yai are dark skinned. The real dark skinned women, the cocoa brown complexion, the dark chocolate complexion need their shine. Light skinned men tend to prefer darker skinned women more than dark skinned or brown skinned men. I think dark skinned African women have it harder than dark skinned Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Hispanic/Latina and Afro- mixed women. I find light skinned and European/Caucasian men tend to prefer dark skinned women of some type of Afro-descent more than brown skinned/dark skinned men. I find African men who are dark skinned prefer dark skinned African women more than Afro-Caribbean men who are dark skinned. There is an increasing amount of Afro-Caribbean men and Afro-mixed heritage men especially those who are tan, light skinned or brown skinned who are into African women especially as a wife. When Black men get to a more mature age, after they go through their phases, they tend to start gravitating towards Black women much more.
I can relate to the conversation about colorism and it's an issue that should be talked about more in the black community across the diaspora. However, I want to point out that even though content creators may have the flexibility and creativity to create videos on anything they want, they should also expect the outcomes resulting in hate comments, cancel culture, and just negative energy from the internet. I believe everything has a price and going into content creation the price is those bad comments you just have to focus on the good comments and the good people that will support you. I personally will not ever want to be a content creator because it's just too much work and I like my privacy and anonymity.
When considering marriage, consider a loving, genuine, Godfearing man who is older than you. I would say age wise from 1 year older to 12 years older, is a good age balance.
Ok let’s be real! We want to help the black community grow and become a better version of ourselves right ?then we need to be honest with eachother. The lady needs to invest in her skincare which is very important. Im a skin care specialist and she needs to exfoliate more because I can see dull and dead skin which can be result of dry skin. She can find affordable products at boots.Go to the gym to help with her mental and physical health also eat more healthier.Learn to do her hair , nails and makeup . Dress better also and trust me she will feel better. It all starts with ourselves and lifestyle.
1. It could be a skin condition and exfoliating too much may exacerbate that. I think you would have to be more specific than this tbh because everyone's skin is different. 2. Learning how to do hair, nails and makeup... how does that BETTER the Black community specifically as opposed to individuals, not everyone likes nails and makeup😄 is that gonna give us economic freedom? Help the COMMUNITY in what way?😩 that's a specific aesthetic, that doesn't better the community as a whole, it only betters specific groups within our race. So you mean her not the community. I feel you about feeling better, I agree and all that but idk about a lot of this. What was the process like to become a skincare specialist?
@@Laura-sg6ss!!! Exactly how does that better the community? And I believe it is indeed a skin condition she has. How about let people be who they are and tell the community to accept people as the are, not to bully each other etc. I can’t imagine thousands of people … my people saying cruel things to me and then a comment telling me to basically just change myself.
@@AgnesB-xo9um exactly that. 🥴🥴 it's not bettering, it's imposing your idea of beautification under the guise of trying to "look out" for someone. Beauty is not universal, Black people are not a monolith. And it's not necessarily going to make her feel better about herself, the way she naturally develops her sense of self and style is the way it should be. We are from Africa. The land of abundance. Our style is abundant. We don't need a box. You can't put us in one box, it literally is not possible. We are the box.
The American thing is so true!! They appreciate black women other there. I was thinking of going to either miami or houston in my 20s but at the same time I feel like I’m attached to London 😭
@@talkswithhelena Oh wow that sucks! Tbh Miami gives more of a holiday spot anyways so I would go to either Houston or Atlanta if i was to stay in America for abit of my 20s
London men of various ethnicities like African, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-mixed heritage women whether they be light skinned, brown skinned and dark skinned. Come on now.
I thought Afro-American men were very colorist and texturist? According to the Afro-American women. The Hip Hop rappers don't seem to like darker skinned women, and this seems to be shaping gullible men's mind. May be there is a contrast to what the mainstream media promotes all a facade. Maybe the so called 'Black Woman ' is more loved, appreciated more than we realise, and more than the whitewashed media promotes. May be the so called 'Black Women' is secretly soughted worldwide.
I find it harlious how the men that were saying "it's not that we don't like dark skin women, you're just not attractive" but hold on a second, how women find U attractive if we're gonna call a spade a spade like lets really keep it a bean and I'm sure they won't be able to answer that 😂 *just crickets*
does that disprove the statement "it's not that we don't like dark skin women, you're just not attractive", though? an ugly man can make that statement and it still be true.
Saying that quote you said is a fair point it's like saying i like white women you are just not attractive if someone doesn't like you someone doesn't like you
