lord morphy of the swamp, best ever
@@SammyChess1 he's from New Orleans
Love the way Paul Morphy played such a class player and light-years ahead of everyone else around him in his day and most of these kings gambit lines really show how important the centre pawns are as a pawn duo and with good centre control white is able to totally suffocate black when played in Morphy fashion 😊
Great explanations for all your videos. Thank you!
loved the way you narrated the games! thanks
Totally agree. He speaks with such fluidity and surprise, as if the chess games are being played now.
Great video Sammy! Thanks you so much!
Yes, Sammy we need that Kings Indian Series of Nakamura, Kasparov, Fischer and more Paul morphy vids like this!
Excellent work. Subscribed.
i love your content so much, you reveal every deep plays of every gm players that helps me understand the playstyle of grandmassters.
Awesome !!! Morphy the Magician at his best !!! Thanks for the explanations.
King in the game of kings playing king's gambit
All are excellent games brother
Great thanks
Impressive.... a lot of new ideas for me to use this unsettling opening
Please more King's Gambit videos
“Mozart of chess” Good one.
Game 4: Paul Morphy vs Charles Amedee Maurian, New Orleans 1858.This game is wrong in the endgame, mate occurs with the rook of king, simply because the rook on a1 has never been there. In this game Morphy grants the advantage of rook a1 to Maurian. In fact Maurian has never played on par with morphy he always received advantages or rook or knight or pawns and move etc. One other thing to note about Morphy's game is that he always activated all pieces he would never leave a piece stationary. Taken from the databases they are full of errors it is better to extrapolate the games from the books, even if they contain errors they are not as gross as in completely unreliable databases
Seriously I could watch these videos for hours, I just need more 😭😂 Is there a reason you cam only upload on Sundays? I know these probably take a lot of time to make and you have to a have a job but please maybe 2 a week soon?
Yeah man well I'll be here the whole way through. I am now your most valiant subscriber haha
Master pieces
my favourite structure
15:10 is hilarious.
Morphy was the Magnus. Carlsen of his Era, with brilliant end game skills.
As a 400 elo this bring me a lot of useful techniques and idea in king gambit! Bless me as a beginner also i do found knight sac!
dont play kings gambit if you are lower rated.....it will do little help in improving your rating
@@xavier3153 that was 1 month ago but i can see why now
Game 2: Paul Morphy vs George Williams Lyttelton, Birmingham 1858 he was one of eight simultaneous blindfold opponents
@9:44 I fail to understand why he resigned. Can you let us know the continuation.. .
White has 2 bishops and 2 knights, Black has 1 Bishop 2 knights
Wow ! What a brilliant series of games by the wonderful Paul Morphy.
His play is fearless, creative, and joyful.
He totally dominates the initiative, and doing so he demonstrates the futility of playing for material advantage.
We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!!
Game 5: Paul Morphy vs T. Knight, New Orleans 1856 the video of this game has to be redone completely, as some considerations you have made are not possible as in this game Morphy gave the advantage of rook a1+knight on b1. Friend, I already told you about the unreliability of consulting the databases for the games. In particular, since I've been researching all the Morphy games for more than 3 years, I can confirm that the Morphy databases are full of errors.
Return 💀
kingambit is the best
Ouch
Ohh Mama Mia.
Opponents are just too weak
chess was not advanced in 18th century
Are you strong? Not at all
Are you strong? Not at all
Morphy was too strong. 100 years later Boris Spasky elo’s equal Morphy elo. And this time Spasky second strongest chess player in world
I guarantee you are a 400, plus and I have hikaru supporting this, morphy was around a high level IM or a low level gm, he had atleast 400 elo gap between him and the second best player. For comparasion the person with the second largest elo gap was fischer with 170. Morphy had a longer reign than fischer too, plus morphy played for fun and didnt study or practice at all, morphy was inarguably more talented of a played than morphy, that alone tells you something along the lines of dont disrespect him
