And that's why I admire Jack Kelly more than any other hardcore frontman, he's my favorite hardcore frontman for many reasons (every band he sang in is in my top 5, he never made a bad recording, and he made great lyrics), and this is just one of them. He's a good man that commits errors like we all do and he actually recognizes them and apologizes if they offend anyone. Love Boston and love the Irish, great city, great people.
We all have said and done dumb shit when we were young, most of us didn't have a platform where our words mattered so much. But i think everyone can relate to losing friends over beef that seems pointless in hindsight. As others have said, it takes guts to own up to your mistakes. Respect.
Negative can still play. I just did a show with the Freddy Pompeii and the Viletones in Philly and can play drums better now than I did in Negative FX, at age 50, so boo on you! Your pal, Dave "Bass" Brown - original Negative FX drummer 1981-1983
Lol so much for hardcore unity and brotherhood, meanwhile long time friends cant make amends and bond more through it and learn..maybe im not in a place to judge but from a young age I could see through all that hardcore brotherhood garbage. Punks are so self righteous
You got to admit that the "VFW" clip from the Bradford KICKS ASS! I'm playing drums with the Philadelphia version of the 1977 Canadian punk band Viletones..hope Lethal is OK...
Ha! Yeah, that's a great clip, I remember seeing it on "American Hardcore" and thinking "Jesus, finally a little life in the crowd". Sounds like you're thriving man! Good deal. Always good when young punks grow up to be old punks. We beat the odds.
I stand corrected. Must have been the good clean livin'. Thanks for setting me straight Bass. Had a little chat with Lethal the other day. Says the back may be improving a bit...
Well Choke, its a little sad that you were saying Moya and his friends hit you when they asked you back, your a grown up man, but its good you apologize
Read: DMS thugs threatened me because God forbid someone write a song saying fuck New York. I'm from CT and I blast that song all the time screaming it at the top of my lungs. Don't be so uptight NY just because the Boston scene was around long before you and had better bands than yours any day
This is very strange. I was a founding member of Warzone NYHC and love snapshots sound and the singers voice. Totally love last laugh! Im totally clueless whatevers going on behind the scenes but this just seems weird. Seems like he's being forced to do it
Choke was a skinhead (non-racist, of course) in the mid-late '80's. The style --Dr. Martens, flight jacket, Levi jeans, etc. Oi! music, hardcore, picking on Wattie from EXPLOITED, etc. But Choke was ALWAYS straight edge! Very straight edge. Here in Detroit we always heard rumors that SLAPSHOT would knock the beer out of your hand or punch you if you were smoking at a show. This scene & music is hardcore, NOT punk.
Both in the hayday, i think Wattie would beat his ass. Wattie was known for not backing down from a fight even taking on a group of nazi skins and got on top Wattie was a military man with little fear lol
Chokes the shit, he grew up and his spiteful homecity pride probably bit off more than he could chew but as an individual, and a hardcore frontman, Jack Kellys untouchable and far more intimidating then the NYHC scene icons. take big nuts to talk the shit he talked and equally fortitudeous to tell everyone he erred a bit in his judgement. Slapshots the shit
I had heard that dudes from DMS caught up with him and held him at gunpoint and MADE him record this apology, over the Slapshot logo with a plane flying into Manhattan. I am sure he means it on some level, but it's hardcore shit talking/trolling other scenes happens. Get over it. RVA and VABeach had beef for years, now things are cool.
Dms was just mad cause slap shot was more hardcore and street crazy then they were. The old boston scene is still great, dms is still great, nyhc is still great. Its now part of our American history. Keep moshin you fruits
I love Slapshot, love hardcore but in the end alot of talk is just talk. I respect action and this is action. unity in hxc is better then alot of bs fight the BS not your brothers.
As a huge slapshot fan [both because of their music as well as chokes' un P.C. stance on things],im disgusted at his grovelin',snivelin' and bowing to his critics. SHAMEFUL! the only thing he ever said that warrants an apology is "im sorry".
Yeah, it only gave us bands like AF, The Cro Mags, Madball, Murphys Law, Sick of it All, h2o, Sheer Terror, Merauder, Leeway, such a weak scene. You probably got smacked around in NY and now you're bitter you herb. Fuck outta here.
@@markmac5943 Damn, late reply but to each their own. I’m a huge fan of Sheer Terror and I like the Cro-Mags, Murphy’s Law, and early Agnostic Front. Sure there are others I’m forgetting. I’m just not a fan of Youth Crew stuff and a lot of the 90s shit it inspired. Basically mirrors what Pantera was doing who I’m not much of a fan of either. Just a sound that loses me personally. Don’t take me too seriously. 🤐
Last laugh is still on of the best songs ever made.
I know its tough as hell
It's honorable for a man to admit his wrong doings. Even if it's too late to apologize, you just really have to do it.
DMS crew kidnapped him and made him do this🤣. It takes a real man to admit he was wrong and apologize
I wonder who's pointing a gun at him from behind the camera...
My bet is the DMS powderboys
@@StreetJustice77 I believe bridges were built because Craig the Slapshot guitarist started playing for Agnostic Front too.
It takes a man to make a video like this. Respect.

He definitely seems like a really humble guy.
Stand up dude saying sorry and standing up. Good on you Choke.
Last Laugh is still best hardcore song ever!
I'm from LongIsland I actually love the song.f-longisland too lol.
Alan R Dude 😂😂😂
„While we're at it“ :D
Reflection in the window of someone standing arms crossed over the camera man looking like a hostage video
Ill show respect to any person who owns up to past mistakes.
Hardcore kids are so uptight
+sssocialservice boston kids are cowards. plain n simple.
Okay Damn Says a guy who fucking uploads video game streams. Tell me about all your epic street fights.

Slapshot just played here last month with Sheer Terror and that was a fucking killer show!
+SHITTY SHAWN Boston, Mass they don't deserve to be anywhere near a sheer terror show. fuck you for supporting that wack shit.

I would so love to see Negative FX reunite and play shows. They're my favorite band ever. You're a drumming legend Dave.

Guns, baseball bats and a bunch of losers who actually willing to use them, is the one and only reason i can think of why Jack did this!!!
Great to see Jack has come out the closest now :)
I'll agree with the others here, takes a man to do this, much respect.
(now get Slapshot touring again! ;) )
homeboy is just trying to get on the next bnb bowl
hard core people are "tough" but once to call them out in their BS. they get butt hurt. they want "kick your ass" write songs about it .

Last Laugh is a badass fuckin song though. Worth.

Fortunately people change. Maybe all but you.

slapshot AF madball show would be great
What they don't show you is the gun being pointed at his head. Madball still sucks.
All is forgiven.
Wish I could give this comment two thumbs up.
