  • In this video I will be covering some basic instructions for using the Project Hatchet H-60 Mod in Arma 3.
    This video is broken down into 4 chapters.
    1. Mod Settings 0:27
    2. Startup Procedure 1:48
    3. Additional Cockpit Functions 3:53
    4. Crew Functions 6:38
    I may create a 2nd video in the future on the use of weapons, optics, radar, FMS, rescue hoist, and other features.

    This is very late but the “F” interact keybind for me would not work thus not allowing me to interact with the engine 1 and 2 startups plus the check list

    Helicopter used to start up fine for me, without issue. Recently it's gained a "hate" on me and now it doesn't want to start up, any idea how to fix that?

    FlyingWulf, You mentioned in the video that you play DCS. How would you say this mod compares to the helicopters in that game? I've used the UH-60L mod for DCS and am wondering if this is at all comparable.

      I don't play DCS, I tried with the A-10 and realized I wasn't having fun having to learn so many complex systems just to fly one vehicle and it wasn't for me. I think I just mentioned DCS in comparison, in that players of DCS will find this start-up sequence much simpler and easier than what they are used to. I can't say if they are compatible but my best guess is that the H-60 is just has enough buttons and switches and features on it to make it feel more immersive, but it likely far far simpler than the real thing or the DCS version. I don't think think the Hatchet modders intention was to make this a simulation of the UH-60L and to be honest it would have no place in Arma and the sorts of combined arms gameplay in Arma.

      This mod does not compare to DCS the flight model in arma is laughable. This mod also missed way to many things and is not close to realistic, but for a sandbox “screw around” mod like this its not terrible

      @@HumbleRiichiPinfuFarmerthere’s a fine balance between realism and fun, but yeah, unfortunately arma fm kinda sucks

      @@flyingwulf3147you shouldn’t have started with the a-10 literally one of the most difficult and most complicated modules to learn it takes months of mastery to get comfortable with it

    Did you ever make a video on the weapon systems? Wanna use the 4 pylon hawk and cant seem to figure out how to see what weapon i have selected and how to change between em and use, jettison em

      I haven't yet and even this video is now obselete. I'll probably do an update on the start-up and then start getting into the weapons systems. With the recent update they've also updated their documentation so you may be able to find the answers you are looking for there. Here's a link uh-60m.gitbook.io/workspace/
      1. Weapon selection will show up on your HMD, but to switch weapons and see more info you hit TAC (in the bottom right of one of your MFD's) then FLIR, then in the top left Deploy FLIR. After the 30-40 seconds check all the buttons available to to you around the MFD. One of them should WPN something and there you can see which weapon you have, how much you have, and then there will be another button for switching control between pilot and copilot. There may be a bug with on of the pylons not allowing switching at this time.
      Your little screen by your knees also has a weapons page for showing you what you have and how much of it you have.
      2. Jettison will also jettison will also jettison your m230 gun and not just the rockets. So really anything on the pylons. Since I fly AFM I also don't notice a big difference in weight savings by dropping the pylons. That may differ with their SFM+ flight model. But you have to really look back as far as possible, in between the pilot and copilot is the middle console and it would near the very back of the console in the vicinity of the parking break.

    How does one add or change keybind so i dont have to use scroll wheel

    • @flyingwulf3147
      @flyingwulf3147  2 роки тому

      Short version: There is no way to add or change keybinds.
      Long version:Sorry I didn't see this when you asked 10 months ago, didn't get the notification. When I made this video it had my scroll wheel and "[" and "]" as options. But my square brackets were bound to something else in the game. Other pilots in my clan had different things pop up as an alternate button instead of scroll wheel. We could never really find how to change them. I've seen suggestions that maybe its a CBA button. Arma has 20 CBA buttons that can be bound that mods will use for various functions. But if you start messing with that you won't know what you're overwriting and could break things, so do so at your own risk. Some months ago my option to use square brackets just disappeared after an update, and from what I can see on the Hatchet discord custom keybindings is something they're working on as a future feature but it's not available right now.

    Why when I put the heli in the air controlled by the AI and I put myself in the turret, why does it not let me shoot?

    • @flyingwulf3147
      @flyingwulf3147  2 роки тому

      So the helo is a simple startup and the process I showed above. When you turn on the simple start up in the options the engine will turn on when you just press engine on in the scrolls wheel like with the vanilla vehicles. But your MFD's and HMD and all the electronic stuff won't because they require all those switches like the batteries and whatnot to be on in order to work. The guns themselves are electrically powered and rely on these systems being on. An AI controlled helo when just put in the plane and put up in the air will just have the engines running but they of course won't actually go through the whole start-up sequences.
      So without the electrical stuff being on...the guns aren't getting power...so they won't work.
      That's my best guess, I'm not one of the devs...or it could be a bug. The AI also won't shoot the guns themselves cuz they can't properly turn them on. But if you check the Project Hatchet discord there is apparently work around for making AI fire the guns.

    What track ir profile do you use?

    • @flyingwulf3147

      I kinda just made my own, its pretty easy to do and probably for the best as I think there are factors like your screen size, how close it is to your face, which determines how much you turn your head or eyes while still being able to see the screen. There's also deadzones to consider which depend on how still your head is at rest. Like I made sure that small movements from the center aren't detected but the mid-range of movements are more significant so I can quickly look around without having to significantly turn my head. I probably loaded up the default values and just adjusted them until it felt right.
