This mod offers the most realistic rotary experience available on the game, hence requires a lot of training to be operated correctly. Real world Apache pilots approved this mod and use it weekly for both training and fun purpose at home, they're also giving very unique feedback on how it should be handled. Hey guys, prior stepping in the aircraft, make sure you get started from here - cutt.ly/kfF355B. It is important, otherwise you won't be able to interact with the aircraft. Also note that this mod is still Work in Progress (WIP), thus the current version of the mod available on Steam has a longer startup time as the engine values now match the real aircraft, amongst various other things which I won't discuss here. The start sequence does remain the same, but the engine page needs to be monitored for a longer period of time. Each engine needs to hit specific values (Np, Ng, TGT...) in order, for the player, to be able acturate the corresponding engine lever. Please grab your official checklist in the description for more infos. I'd love to hear what you guys think about the mod in the comments below. Happy hunting!

Could you fix the bug that when using this mod, other planes won't have their regular lock-on interface from vanilla?
Make the NP readings match the Nr(rotor)... it will be more realistic! Good Job on the sounds...!

This is absolutely amazing. I don't know any mod that goes nearly as deep as this one in realism! You are really making people happy, if only I could afford a track IR!
Get "Viewtracker" on steam. You'll love it. It's rather inexpensive and offers good head tracking.
Or you could get a Trackhat setup. Works very well, uses the Track IR protocol in games. about $75us for the hat and the camera.

You can find second hand TrackIR5 fairly inexpensive on ebay these days, though there are cheaper alternatives now as others have mentioned.
I have a Rift S VR headset but I still find TrackIR easier, less bothersome, and less likely to give me motion sickness. VR is almost more trouble than it's worth, unless you have an absolutely shit hot top-range processor and graphics setup.

No! Absolutely not. That's how you bleed the utility hydraulics completely off and you won't have enough hydraulic pressure for APU Start.
Starting with the rotor brake on is standard in high wind situations. However, not in normal situations. Nothing at all to do with APU though!
@@stephengilmore2741 I wouldn't necessarily say it's standard. The only engine start I've done with the Rotor brake set to lock was in flight school so I could see it done once. Even out at Fort Carson, where we often see winds at 25 gusting to 35 we still do normal starts with the rotor brake off.
And the APU is absolutely applicable. If you don't move the Rotor Brake from Brake to Off as part of the engine shutdown checklist, then the hydraulic accumulator will bleed off its 3600 PSI of hydraulic pressure and the next time you go to start the APU you're going to have to climb out and manually pump it back up to 3600PSI.
Even if you wanted to do a lock start, you would need to have the APU running first so that the accessory gearbox of the transmission is running the hydraulic pumps. Then it's fine to manipulate the rotor brake

As a former AH-64D/E pilot this is pretty cool, may have to check out DCS now I already see an issue the NG would not be red at engine idle, the start indications are not right as well as the APU

I believe they have fixed a lot of this stuff in the latest update.
Great mod and I have to say I'm not sure if it's just me, but once you get this helicopter in the air, I find it much easier to fly (with joystick and throttle) than any of the other helicopters in Arma 3. First time I took her for a flight I was able to take off, fly around the airbase and land again at my chosen spot without blowing up or even breaking anything, which must be a first for Arma 3 and it's incredibly bad helicopter flight physics. Now I just need to work out how to use weapons.
I just wish there was a quick engine start option for those of us who can't be arsed going through the startup procedure rigmarole every goddamn time. At least it'll get me in plenty practice prior to the release of the DCS Apache end of March '22.
That's because most native helicopters for arma are extremely twitchy. Especially the Littlebird. A realistic helicopter, especially a gunship like the Apache doesn't roll over on every little correction on the stick. Try flying a helo in MSFS... they are not study level yet, but they feel and behave pretty close to the real thing.

While flying in the advanced flight model it kinda tilts forward all the time and I dont know what is causing it. Please give me some advice! Thanks!
Forget everything you know about flying in A3. This specific behaviour has a debate within the Apache pilots community I work with, some say it shouldn't be that strong but isn't abnormal. Like any aircraft (except fly-by-wire ones) you have to trim the aircraft when there is a power change. In real life, I do trim a lot, like any other pilot would do. The Apache is no exception. In the real world, it takes up to 2 years of flight training on that specific aircraft to be qualified on it. Guess why...
Btw Does it work in the Basic flight model too or is it advanced only?
@@cryptoryeet1211 The standard flight model is not realistic and hasn't received any kind of work (and will not). Bugs are more likely to occure. This mod is meant to be flown in AFM only. The flight model comes from verified and declassified sources altough some tuning is required here and there because ArmA. I don't personnaly touch the flight model because it's beyond my understanding, it's all about hardcore mathematics. Keplager (aka Zeitsev) is the one responsible of it and works closely with other Apache pilots.
How do I click on a control in cockpit. I’ve got the x on the screen but just clicking doesn’t make any buttons work

One problem. The engine never seems to heat up. I followed all the steps but it just doesn’t heat up.

many thanks Voodooflies, has any work or modds been made to enable full throttle movement on Hotas system (Arma will only read half the throttle movement by default ) i have a thrustmaster Hoatas warthog first 505 of actual throttle lever movement does not register second half does so hovering is very tricky (set in anaolgue in setup)
Allen Green Hey Allen, I do own a Warthog myself and I don’t face that issue. You may want to remap the whole joystick in A3 and not use TARGET if you do.
@@Voodooflies Hi Voodooflies thank you for the suggestion its enlightening to know its not the hotas or Arma thats the isuue i dont have the Target installed anymore but it may have left drivers in place so im going to formatt the computer and reinstall as that might resolve my issue. i really love flying the AH 64 i used to be a Janes Longbow fan many years ago so was extactic when you realesed your modd many thanks for the joy and fun it brings
So I can’t figure it out my center screen to click the controls will be off from center at times I look right at it and click nothing then look at another switch or control and it clicks the one I attempted to use before?
Hey there! Do you have "headtracking mode" enabled on your action menu? If you do, that will mean that moving your mouse will move your cursor around rather than your screen, this is meant to make it easier to click things with a headtracker. Pressing 5 on the numpad can help reset it to the centre, keep an eye out for where the little green cross is.

When I try I to interact with the Apache all I see is passenger and Cargo for the rest there's nothing. Like I don't even see Racks and all that other stuff. Can someone help?

I've had some trouble using this mod. I am unable to click any of the panel buttons and turn on the heli. Just for clarification, what is the button to do so? In the video you say "click", which I assume means left mouse button. I tried that along with , enter, F, spacebar, none seem to work.

Great mod, but I have a question, I can get the helicopter on and in the air but once I take off controlling the apache becomes extremely difficult and I usually end up nose diving into the ground. I haven't touched my control scheme at all besides the required game changes and am on mouse & keyboard, obviously it's hard to answer this question not being able to see what I'm doing while flying it but does anyone have any tips on how to fly it properly?
I'd suggest you get an entry level joystick to fly it. The mod is not designed for mouse & keyboard user as we're talking about a simulation aspect of it.
Welcome to the world of helo's ! :) And get a stick cause you can't fly with a keyboard and mouse only.

Too quickly, and probably some over-torque on top of this.
Yeah. Figured it out. Got impatient after I restarted the game to turn on trackir and didn't know things like that where modeled. Impressive work. I'd say even close to dcs module quality. All it needs is some flight model work and you're set.

How do you adjust seat
in the real chopper you can adjust you seat! In ARMA there's probably a setting to move the pilots virtual seating position, in the normal settings somewhere.
You can adjust your seat by playing with the view keybind settings in A3.
Can I be the first to ask stupid question... How do you select what cursor is looking at, can't start aircraft...

@@richardparry1586 Make sure you read the full description of the mod page. Custom User 20 needs a key to be binded in order to interact will all the switches. All controls and binds are listed on the mod's page.

if you use AI as Pilot/Gunner they will not close the doors. they will fly with open pilot and gunner doors

I'm disappointed. Hoped you could actually click everything in the cockpit instead of those sub menus. But still it's cool. Arma would be a perfect sandbox to make a Apache/Havoc esq dynamic campaign. That game had just enough system fidelity to make sense in Arma. And arma has great terrains and a powerful editor.
You really want an apache look into DCS. A fantastic model is coming soon.
