I must be so behind in my replies but this comment. WOW! Touched my heart. I believe in timing. I love that I'm reading this now as today I needed this. It means SO much to me. I want to be the example of everything that is love. I want to be love, share love and ascend love. I'm learning to do that and this comment reminded me of being myself :) Thank you!!!
Thank you for THIS video! I have greys and my results have been getting better with these SUUUUPER helpful videos. I can't wait to try these time saving tips tho. U came in clutch with this one.
Thank you so so much! I have had trouble covering the greys I am getting in my very dark brown hair. I have been using the standard dark brown recipe and have not been getting coverage that matches my hair color. Today I tried the soft black recipe you suggested in this video and it worked perfectly and a time saver! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
What about those red and cherry color shades? I am also want to receive chocolate color, but without those red and burgundy shades...
Chestnut brown. Yeah, that describes it. 🌰
That's my color
I did the first step on my grays with the henna step one yesterday. I left it on for 1 and a half hours. My friends showed up in the process so I cut the time down from the 2 hours I had planned, but the results even with the shorter time was perfect. The deep copper color on all the grays that I have taken up about 25-50% of my top of head area and sides, now looks amazing. It shows me I did the first application correctly. I will be applying the second step for Deep Brown this morning with no distractions LOL. I love this natural approach to keeping long curly hair healthy and happy. Thank you for your guidance. No more chemical dyeing for me. Happy Henna Human.
Could you please let me know the outcome of your step2 ?? Did you get the dark brown clour on grey hair using henna and indigo? What was the ratio you used? Thanks so much
I did my first Henna yesterday, but i had a lot of henna left over i covered it and have it in the fridge.
Can someone tell me if it can be stored for a future use or maybe freeze it? Thanks
@@rachel2417 yes, you can freeze it
@@rachel2417this is probably way too late to help, but in the future you can freeze the leftovers *right away* after application. The dye releases/develops the longer it's left exposed to air, even in the fridge. So the leftovers from the fridge, wouldn't be effective to color your hair anymore. The efficacy of the henna starts to decrease after 18 hours of being mixed. Freezing it stops that process from continuing to release the molecules responsible for the color change in the keratin of your hair.
This was the best henna vid I’ve found so far! Love you and your content 😊❣️🌻
Thank you so much! 🫶
I was very lucky my hair went blue black first go but I had to do henna 4 hours then Indigo for 1.5 hours, wash it out because I couldn't handle it for 3+, then had a break and did another Indigo for 1.5 hours the result was incredible
Ooh I love blue black color. What was ur process to get the blue-black??
This was very informative! Thanks for making this! I’m going lighter with my hair regimen-I used to go jet black but now I’m going dark brown cause it’s closer to my natural hair color
Hi, please consider adding captions to your videos. Thank you.
Stunning as usual ! i,m one of your big fans in Egypt and i really want to thank you so much for the amount of info that you always present to us ! And i want you to do some hair care tutrials on how to deal with your curly hair with hijab , since you wear hijab i think you will provide the best info about it , also how to maintain the crown area which is always getting dryer and more dull than other parts of hair . Thanks in advance
I had a severe reaction using chemical dye on my beard before travelling abroad. My lower cheeks swelled up, and my cousin was shocked when he saw me at the airport and asked what happened to my cheeks. I have now started using Henna and Indigo (1 step process). The funny thing is when I first applied henna/indigo 1:3 ratio I let the Henna settle in for a full 24hrs as suggested by some youtubers and left it on my hair for 4hrs but that did not have ANY effect on my grey hair at all, even though I had washed and shampooed my hair the day before. However, I used the same Henna/Indigo 1:3 ratio again 4 days later. This time I let the henna settle in for just over 3 hrs before mixing the indigo, did not wash my hair and applied the mix on my dry hair and left it on my hair for only 1hour and 15 mins. Lo and behold the 2nd time it worked very well and covered most (90%) of my grey hair on the top and 80% on the beard.........any thoughts Khadija???
Is the henna making your beard thicker? My boyfriend wants a thicker beard and I wondered if henna might help him.
@@mercedezz It does seem to make it a little thicker compared to when I was using chemical dye. BTW to save time I now use Its pure Henna (very dark brown) as that comes premixed with indigo. This way I don't have to worry about working out the mix ratio of Henna vs Indigo. Very dark brown is just right for my hair and the company Its pure supply it in the UK they are UK based.
@@Papirind26 awesome, thank you for the reply! Does this henna leave you with any red tints? He doesn’t want the red beard he’s blonde but dyes his hair with chemical box dye a light brown color. Great Video I placed my order yesterday. Thank You
Can we use flax seed gel to prepare the indigo paste? I'm assuming it should help extremely dry hair.
I leave my henna on for 8 hours ! I've been using Lush henna rouge since 2015 but they've recently changed the formula so I'm looking around for a different brand.
I really liked lush but it was a big effort even in just breaking up the blocks. I've switched to henna guys and like that it's easier and they give a better range of colours.
I use Hesh or Hanna Natural and they too have a range of colors. I use one that comes out a deep berry color.
I loved Lush too! But I will try Hennasoq
How is auburn is achieved using henna & indigo on grey/white hair?
How do you dye jet black hair with henna?!?? Please do i video on it !! Thanks Mrs. Lady ❤ I love you Channel. I am learning so much
I did the henna and indigo. I did henna Sunday, and Indigo Monday. Left them in the recommended times. I've used henna alone so no surprises, but the indigo didn't stay long. Never got black. By Wednesday hair was redder, not like henna alone, but not black or even brown. By the time I washed by end of week. Not sure if it was worth the hassle with the indigo.
Oh sorry to hear the indigo didn't stick well. Which henna and which indigo were you using? You may have to add indigo to your first step (with your henna) and then indigo in the second step. What percentage of grey do you have and what is your natural hair color
I am applying henna indigo mix in my grays. Can u make a video of timing about the mix too?
I really appreciate your hair tips. Thanks a tonne 🙂

My hairline is a bit low and the gray is right on my baby hairs and it’s super SUPER stubborn. Thanks to you, I learned that I should be allowing the indigo to dye release before applying. I was originally told that it should be used immediately after mixing. Since I’m now doing your 2 step dye process, I leave the henna on for 4-5 hours then let the indigo do its thing while I’m sleeping then rinse it out and blow dry. Otherwise the whole wash day is painfully long. Also, if you see this message, your henna is SO MUCH BETTER than the brand I was using before! I bought 5 more when you had your Black Friday sale 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Happy Henna Sooq customer over here. 🙋🏽♀️
same for me... I have read that indigo needs to be applied straight away... not true?

Can u do a video on achieving Burgandy Hair I also want to experiment with hibiscus spray or other flowers to enhance the color
This is something that we can do in the future. Thank you for your suggestion!
1:44 - did you get the headings wrong there, you said for bright strawberry only 1 part henna to 3 parts cassia...meaning less red. And a muted strawberry is 1:1 ???
Hi, khadejah , so glad I found your vlogs on Henna, I have ginger hair (red as some call) not dark nor strawberry and am looking to tone down the copper highlights with a light black which is the only color that helps tone them down and black looks pretty with gingery hair, would you recommend henna+indigo
Henna and indigo is a great option to try! You can use the henna to deepen your ginger red base and the indigo to tone down the copper highlights.
Currently watching this video while henna-ing my hair trying to convince myself I’ve had it in long enough… I can never make it the full 4 hours😂
Just saw this entire video, but I noticed that you neglected to mention burgundy tones. Is there a science to getting burgundy. Please address this because I do understand that there is a layering process? I have been consistent, but I have only achieved brown.
What if I did an Kasia to the hanne
What will happen
For burgundy tones you ve got to add beetroot juice 👍 to your henna and mix it.
I ended up with burgundy red by using only henna full strength (not gloss) on light brown hair by applying to the whole length of hair every time I dyed it rather than just doing the roots. After about 4 or 5 applications it was a deep rich burgundy.
THIS! I rly want to know the answer bcuz im trying so hard to get that color 😍 but... im failing everytime :(

First thing first: thank you so much for all these videos. I used henna for the first time about 2 weeks ago. My hair has never been this soft or healthy. I did the 1 step of Henna & Indigo for 2 hours. I have about 15% gray hair. This one-step process did not cover my grays. So I followed your instructions and did only Indigo for about 1 hour. I got this beautiful brown color. Unfortunately, I can see my grays again. What should I do next?

So after washing hair with the "cleansing co wash" to add moisture, are you suppose to wait for your hair to dry before putting the Indago on for an hour for the soft black? Thanks
Please make sure to do indigo within 72 hours of henna application (right after or next day included). Make sure your hair is damp not wet or dry.
Hi. I'm going to try henna and indigo for the first time. I have been dying my hair with boxes dye for 30 years now so I'm super nervous for a new process. I also got a heat cap and wondering what time difference you suggest? I am going for blue black color. Thank you
Hello. You can leave it for about 1.5 to 2 hours with heat.
Hello Khadija, please can I ask a question? She wants to put henna on her hair with cassia. She wants a blonde color. How much henna do you add with cassia and how long does it remain on her hair and rinse it off? Is indigo applied after henna and cassia or not? I want your help. Thank you very much.
Hello. What is her natural hair color?
Hello Khadija, her natural hair color is dark blond, her hair is short. How much cassia do you mix, how much henna, should you use Nile after that, and what is the time when using it?

Hi
I heard that some people use turmeric with henna. Does it affect the colour? Is it bad?
I develop my henna for about 3 hours and then mix my indigo ...
While that sits i brush my hair, moisten it with some rose water and then mix the indigo with the henna and put it into my hair.
I do add egg and other things to my henna mix just before I apply it
Hi and salaam. Do you have a tip for colour locking or shampoo and rinse etc.
Hello. All of our hair washes, and shampoo bars are color safe with the exception of our Soapnut ones as they are clarifying and should be used before coloring.
I have used henna paste on my hair, it turned my lot of white hair into red, how can i use indigo change my hair color into light brown or dark brown. Please let me know. Thanks
Hello. You can check our guide on how to use indigo here: hennasooq.com/blogs/frontpage/complete-guide-how-to-color-your-hair-with-henna-and-indigo/
Can I apply indigo paste two weeks after applying henna. Would it turn the red color hair into dark brown
Cowash after henna would not make the hair less ready to absorb the subsequent indigo?? Thank you!!
Using a cowash after henna shouldn’t make your hair less ready to absorb the indigo, but you’ll want to be mindful of using a product that doesn’t leave behind heavy residues. A gentle cowash that is free of silicones or heavy conditioning agents can clean your hair while still allowing the indigo to adhere well just like what we carry: hennasooq.com/collections/natural-hair-conditioner
Sometimes when we use Indigo herb. We feel itching in hair. Colour on fingers when comb hair. Pls suggest some remedy.
First, you do have to make sure you’re not allergic to henna or indigo. That might be a sign of an allergy. Also, make sure you have a very strong showerhead so you can ensure it all comes out. Use our Cleansing CoWash to help with that as well.
Hi there can you please give me a formula on how to mix my henna and indigo to get black hair from Roots to tip please thank you
Hi. I have a question. If I mix amla into the henna, is it true what I’ve heard that it will help the colour be more ashy (less red/orange)? I want to use henna instead of box dye to cover greys, but my natural colour is not red/orange, so it does not suit my skin tone (winter). Thanks in advance.
Hello. No, Amla helps you to achieve longer hair naturally. This herb also helps maintain curls, adds volume to hair and helps to reduce some of the brightness of henna hair dye.
@@HennaSooq thank you for taking the time to answer. All the best 😀🙏✨
I KNEW there was some madscience to this! Not a guaranteed one-off. Thank you.
Hi, i thought you mix the henna and let it sit for 3-4 hours. Then mix the indigo but that sit for only 15 minutes. Then you mix both for the auburn color.
Correct, if you want to achieve mahogany/auburn effect, you should get the proportion right.
Thank you! This was helpful.
Can you do a video on just copper? I'd love more information. I love your videos thank you.
Try lime juice in your cassia henna mix, that is my favorite acid for copper red.
I did first step, henna only, and i got a copper color. I left it on 3 hours. I did add beet powder and elderberry powder to it.
Hi! I have been colouring my hair copper with henna for months now and I use a very simple mix: just pure Lawsonia inermis (250g for long, thick curly hair), 2 tbsp turmeric to get warmer tones, 2 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp aloe vera gel for hidration and I swap water for black tea to make the mixture acidic and get more of a warm tone again. Super easy, works for me every time!
does it cover grey hair?
I have two coulred hair from previus hairdye know its my naturel hair growth but stil choclate brown on the length. I want a nice copper hair colour can i hair dye my hair with a regular dye to light it up and the use copper henna??
Hello khadija, thanks for your videos. Please how long should the henna stay in my hair to get burgundy?
Hello. Wrap your hair and allow to dye your hair for 3-4 hours.
Where can I get that doll on shelf
Can the indigo and henna be mixed with one step
to get the super black hair color... i leave henna on for 4 hours, then indigo for 4 hours.. how long do i wait in-between those two processes?
I know the hair needs to dry and I am coloring over resistant grays. My last henna treatment was a year ago so its mostly virgin gray hair.
Can you use cassia powder instead of henna? Will the indigo still help colour my hair very dark brown/ black.
Hello! It won't color dark hair tones but can yield a light golden tone on grey and blonde hair.
I don't mind waiting several hours to get the best results. I want to try the one step henna and indigo dry. I plan on leaving it on for 4 to 6 hours. Is that OK?
Hello. We recommend leaving it for 3-4 hours only. If you leave it too long, it can cause dryness.
@@HennaSooq Thank you for this recommendation. I was thinking that leaving it on for extra time would just make the color darker and last longer. I will leave it on no longer than 4 hours. Thank you!👍😊
@@HennaSooq World that also apply to the Ayurvedic moisturizing mask? I did the moisturizing mask a week ago and left it on longer than recommended.
How long should you soak the henna mix ? Before applying on the hair
Hello. Every henna powder has it’s own dye release time. For our Moroccan Henna Powder 1-2 hours and for our Red Raj, Rajasthani Indian henna, Jamila and Yemeni henna 3-4 hours.
Do you have to do 2 applications? Can you add the henna and indigo together and apply once?
Hello. Yes, we recommend to do this separately. The mixture will not work and if you mix them together.
Does it . how much henna is used in the recipe? Do you just say 100 grams as a basic example? Thanks
Is cassia the same as neutral henna? And if so can i just use it instead of the red henna. I would then follow up with the indigo
hi! Yes typically neutral henna is also cassia. Just check the latin name on the packages you use. Using cassia alone before indigo isn't a good idea as cassia isn't permanent like indigo and cassia won't let the indigo cling very well to the hair strands and may leave a green hue from the indigo. Best used with henna.
@HennaSooq Thank you so much for answering my question. Also does cassia have the same conditioning properties as red henna?
Is it possible to achieve a light brown, using cassia, henna and indigo? My current color is medium brown.
We’re sorry we don’t offer a light brown tone as it’s not possible with henna since it dyes reddish tones and even with indigo it makes more of a reddish brown to medium brown and darker etc… There may be other options found in this really good book called Natural Hair Coloring by Christine Shahin. www.amazon.com/shop/hennasooq
Is there a way to get a purple from Henna? I know indigo can come out blue/green. Is there a way to mix it with raja red or hibiscus powder or beet powder?
My color came out purple. I colored with henna and indigo, separately. Both I kept 2 hours , although I didn’t want purple, I wanted black. But I got black-purple. 😏 I didn’t even know it’s the option 😀

How did things go? Did you find your answer? I know for sure you want pure product when you’re dying over chemically dyed hair and Henna Sooq has more videos out there that answer your question (I don’t remember the answer because I’ve used henna for over a decade).
Can you go grey after dying with henna and indigo ? How would you do it ?
Hello. Henna can sometimes fade over time as does any type of dye (weather and elements cause this or heat over time) and it also grows out so it’ll eventually come out on its own fully over time. Henna hair dye lasts 4-6 weeks but depends on hair growth.
Doyou do touch up root the same way or mix together with the same time or the longest of both?
Hello! Yes, do the root touch up the same way.

you may need to add some indigo and also be consistent with your applications to get a richer deposit. Rajasthani indian henna is really good for that tone.

Hello. Color results can vary depending on your natural hair color or on how much grey hair you have. The lighter the hair and the more greys you have, will pull the most red (sometimes even an orange). Therefore sometimes, repeated applications are necessary to get better color. What if I am a natural redhead using your natural red? I am in my mid 40’s and my hair isn’t as fiery red as it once was, I am wanting to achieve my old color back. I’ve never colored my hair, my hair was past my butt this morning, I had 13 inches taken off, it is now about 1 1/2 inches past my bra line. I am planning on mixing tonight then applying in the morning.
Any suggestions❓
Absolutely that would be really great. Like our Moroccan henna with a few applications will become really vibrant. This would be a good method. Did you use it and apply it today?
If you haven't done it yet, make sure to strand test first! Make a tiny batch of henna and test it on some fallen hair samples that you collect from your brush or shower. And let the strand test oxidize to be more sure of the colour you'll get. Once it's on your head it's pretty darn permanent.

Great video!! But I have a question. When you said first step henna, you mean only pure henna, but in the second step when you said indigo, you mean only indigo? Or a mix of henna and indigo? Thank you so mucb
She meant 2 separate applications
And if you want indigo to stick to grays, add a little bit of salt.
Hello,
How long can henna be stored for future use? I had a lot left over. I made it yesterday morning. Can I freeze it?
No need. Just cover and leave outside. If you it for more than two days you might notice mold
Hello. You can place it in the fridge for 5-7 days. Please use it within 7 days of being made (if kept in the fridge). If you have any leftovers you can freezer for up to 6 months.
How can I.use amla to bring back my curls which have straightened out due to henna And not fading out or darkening out my color ?
Mix 100gram Amla with coconut milk or hot distilled water. Leave on the hair for 1-2 hours.
Helloo❤️What about if I want get dark blonde on light blonde?
Thanks ❤️
Welcome!
Hi! My natural hair color is closer to a chestnut with hints of auburn. I used an auburn color depositing shampoo that is now faded and I am trying to achieve a color closest to my natural.. My hair has a lot of red in it right now and my biggest fear is it turning purple/burgundy. Do you have any recommendations for that? I just purchased Moroccan henna and indigo, just don’t know the proper ratio/herb mixture needed to prevent that. Thank you in advance!
Oh those are great. Was just about to say to use those! Start with 50/50 if you have grey hair as well. This is usually brown but if you want more red to peek through then 3 parts henna to 1 part indigo
Okay perfect! thank you so much. So excited for it♥️
