I'm only 15 and I want to be a mechanic when I'm older so my dad brought me a nitro car to work on and it's been very helpful thank you for this really good tutorial now my engine is running perfectly
Easily the most helpful youtuber in this hobby. Your videos turned me into a tuning god! Now I've mastered tuning nitros and its just a fun little process instead of a headache :) gotta love this hobby, easily the most fun and educational ones out there!
Hi mate. I'm slowly getting back into rc nitro cars after a 6 or so year break. Previously I've had nitro buggies, on road cars, truggies, monster trucks and boats. Just want to say THANK YOU. Your posts are with out a doubt the most helpful and explanatory. So "G day mate" from down under Australia.
Bro the gap on mine was almost half open, i have not ridin my pride for years unfortunitily so im giving it a little check, i thank myself for clicking on this video! Keep up the hard work on that content🤘
I have a question for you. The most confusing thing I find about tuning the lsn is that there are 3 variations or variables you have to deal with. These 3 options are: 1. Adjusting the idle speed screw 2. Adjusting the lsn 3. Adjusting the throttle trim on the transmitter. What I find challenging is trying to understand when to use any of those three settings. First of all, in your video you adjust the idle speed screw to either speed up or slow down the rate of the engine however the same changes occur if you lean out the low speed needle (you get engine spin from starving it of fuel) or perhaps trimming the throttle on the transmitter. How do you know when to trim what? For example I have seen many tuning tutorial videos where they talk about adjusting the low speed needle and as they turn the lsn clockwise and leaning the motor the wheels begin to spin. They then proceed to mention that you may need to adjust your idle speed screw to stop wheel spin...but couldnt that mean your engine is running lean and now youre starving it off fuel and air. Can you please shed some light or anyone on these comments? Hope I have made some sense. Best regards Dimitri First off, ensuring that the car is idling well you can adjust the idle speed screw (as shown in this video)
Thanks. When you said "by screwing in you are increasing the gap" don't you mean that by screwing in you are decreasing the gap as when you screw something in you are closing the gap? Also is it the fuel flow you are trying to control and not the air flow? So just to be clear, when you are screwing IN by turning the screw clockwise you are closing the gap preventing less fuel in and NOT less air? It is the fuel intake that u are trying to control and not air? Does that sound right? Also does more fuel (not air) going in cause a higher rpm?
Hi I have few questions 1.My car was running fine but all of the sudden it slow down like has nearly no power even after giving full throtle it just drive very slow. Smoke and sound of the engine comes as normal. 2. Why I need lot of strokes to start engine. 3. Why engine throwing alot of fuel. 4. Why engine switch of when turn electric power on. I will be waiting for answer
I have looked for that so much thanks you Btw I have connected to battery opposite and smoke came out I switched controller and receiver and all the lights work correctly but when I give gas or try to turn it doesnt do anything how can I fix it ?
That car sounds beautiful! I know I’ve asked you many questions in the past and I’m probably getting on your nerves but is it the exhaust that makes it sound like that or is it just the engine?
can you make a video of how to replace those gears that your saying are very expensive lol I have them bc I have another parts rc car that's exactly the same as my current one but not sure how to get them out!
Hi Jonathan, I don't have this car any more so it'd be difficult to make a video, but if you have your user manual at hand it will have an exploded diagram that will show you how it goes together :)
Bought a brand new tmaxx 3.3 recently. Tried to do the break in process but when It idles it moves forward right away. I adjust the needle but still moves forward a lot. Any tips?
My engine has the HSN and the LSN the same as you, but I cannot find the idle speed needle, I looked online and I got told it is the screw on the end of the carb (opposite end of the LSN) but you said it isn't so I am confused.
Question when i turn my rc nitro on it idles and doesnt move soon as i turn on controller it speeds off could be reciever and controller? Antenna is broken on it
There's no right or wrong, just start with the one that needs the most attention e.g. if the engine isn't idling properly then start with your Low speed needle so that it'll run reliably for you to tune the HSN. If it's starting and running ok then start with the HSN and finish with the LSN .
i've just bought a kyosho mp9 tki3 and just ran the first tank (5mm gap) but when looking at the carburettor after it's first tank gap it is fully shut any ideas? this is my first car so should i adjust the idle speed screw because i'm still doing the break in process or the throttle trim even though it says not too?
My car won’t start takes forever to start n when starts I gotta keep the throttle on and then when restarting it just won’t fire takes for ever would could it be ??????
Start by returning your tuning settings to default settings and then work from there Feel free to send me a video of how the car is running to me via my facebook page ( search The RC Biker on facebook) and then I can help further

Greetings from US - Great video! This helped me a lot!
Great to hear!
What an incredibly helpful video

Instructed very well, thank you
Glad it was helpful!

I wish this dude could tune my nitro engine. I've never been able to get my head round it.
Which bit are you struggling with?
Hi I have few questions

What is the brass screw below the high speed needle?
What starter are you using on this car?? i want to get an easy and reliable starter that is easyly to connect like on your video/ Anders
Another Helpful Video, Keep It Up 🖒
More coming :)
I have looked for that so much thanks you
Btw I have connected to battery opposite and smoke came out I switched controller and receiver and all the lights work correctly but when I give gas or try to turn it doesnt do anything how can I fix it ?
Not sure what you mean. Did you connect the Polarity of the battery up wrong? If so, you might have fried the electronics
yes indeed
I'd say you fried your receiver then. especially if smoke came out!
oh thats happnet
Solved my problem, too easy thanks
Glad it helped : )

It’s ya mom
@@fknlitj200 You are sooooo cool lmfao
J you need to Come n tune mine I'm having real difficulty for starters my throttle seems to be sticking n keeping throttle open slightly
My car got a spring on my carb is that the same and how long should my tank last on idle it is a 75 ml can you help me
i just got a new carb where should i start the idel right now it revs to top speed how many turns out to start with
can you make a video of how to replace those gears that your saying are very expensive lol I have them bc I have another parts rc car that's exactly the same as my current one but not sure how to get them out!

Just got one and mine idles good for about 5 secs and slowly speeds up to about half throttle even when my remote isn’t in my hands. Any help?
What factory setting for 18cc force engine
Bought a brand new tmaxx 3.3 recently. Tried to do the break in process but when It idles it moves forward right away. I adjust the needle but still moves forward a lot. Any tips?
Have you tried turning down the throttle trim?
TheRCBiker yes. Does nothing
My engine has the HSN and the LSN the same as you, but I cannot find the idle speed needle, I looked online and I got told it is the screw on the end of the carb (opposite end of the LSN) but you said it isn't so I am confused.
Hazzeron Normally there should be a screw in the carb.
There will be an idle speed screw. It's in different locations for different engines.
Question when i turn my rc nitro on it idles and doesnt move soon as i turn on controller it speeds off could be reciever and controller? Antenna is broken on it
Try using a different remote. The remote might be giving false information.
If it's not the remote, that means there's something going on electrically or in the computer of the car
What if u change idle screw and it still moves what else could it be ?
when tuning my engine. which needle shoud i start on?

Iv done that pal should have my messages in your inbox thank you for the prompt reply
my car can not switch to the 2nd gear even if i give full throttle. so what is the next should i do?
What car is it?
kyosho drx. engine is gxr-18
JT12's R/C Videos kyosho drx. engine is gxr-18
hiya and I was wondering if you could help me I have car that I can't seem to get running right and when I think it is running I am back at the start again many thanks
What's the issue?
I can get it running and when I go to use it and open the throtle slow it is OK and then when I smack it open it won't pick up and sometimes cuts out
Nick Tombs It's too rich.
Boba Fett to rich on top end or bottom end
I think you will need to lean the high speed needle
Is it a problem if when I first start it it jumps to extremely hi revs
Robert Swanson yes decrease the idle
I think I would put my engine idle speed screw evenly
how do I know the gap is 1 mm? stick a clip in there?
Just do it by eye, usually if it looks low enough start the engine and then adjust it accordingly to how the engine is running
could allows use feeler gauges
Mines spraying fuel abit near engine then cutting g out
@2:06 the look
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP if i start my nitro car and i get it startet then when i take the glow igniter of it stops.
lean your lsn clockwise 1/8 at a time with visible blue smoke until the engine stays running when igniter is removed
Oke i will try tomorrow thanks
Agree with below comment, usually caused by a rich LSN. Possibly a dodgy glow plug
I was looking to adjust the idle on my Dodge Nitro. I think I landed at the wrong video :)
Yes I think you did!
macstar 28 is a 6 port engine
Correct
yea you said 3 port lol
I took mine out and can’t get it back in lmao help please when you can?
Hi Justin, what engine is it? Usually it will just screw right in again!
❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊. ไฟไฟไฟไฟไฟแอดพ์.
anyone know factory needle settings for savage xl? also when it does iddle then i give it throttle the truck dies. any advice onnwhat could be wrong?
Have you got your user manual ?
