Discover him just this year and learned of his death afterwards. Such a shame and great talent. You can hear his suffering in music. Being in recovery myself this hit me hard. Hard to explain.
Still fucks me up even 2 years later. Spent a lot of my musical formative years learning from this guy, listening to his music & writing and trying to emulate parts of his unique style. He was such an enigma. Only saw him 3 times live, met him once but never really knew him. RIP Justin.
Me paso lo mismo, soy de Buenos Aires Argentina, lo conoci hace 13 años aproximadamente, y desde ahi no pude dejar de tocar su musica, un talento unico, Abrazo grande, Justin Townes Earle por siempre
What a beautiful and impressive person, great video quality also. You know, I'm not justifying his addictions but the depth and measure of those can only be a sign of his incredible sensitivity.
He was absolutely not sober here... He relapsed onto alcohol and cocaine the month before. It was right when the Saint of Lost Causes album was released and he started touring for the record. He was so bad his bandmates thought they wouldn't be able to finish the tour. In early 2020 just before Covid he was in really bad shape, and by July of 20' he was in hospital with pneumonia from aspirating. He got out of hospital, went right back to alcohol and coke and died less than 3 weeks after being released. That's not my opinion, that's straight from his wife and bandmates. It's such a shame. He really was one of the great songwriters.
@diamondsprince There are tutorials at youtube, which teaches basics of his unique style of playing guitar. Quite easy to find and to play(the basics).
JTE had so many songs left to sing. Watching this makes me feel happy sad and angry all at the same time.
Absolutely the same here. He could really do that to you, couldn’t he…? 💔💙

RIP. You were a great one.
Amen. Greatly missed.
@@Cahtuhwheels Yeah. He obviously had some demons that he could never shake.
Indeed he was
One of the few muscians who can command a crowd with just his voice a guitar and a good song talented beyond belief
Amen...biggest talent of generation
Saw this gig and miss the guy.
Such a great song! And he makes 1 guitar sound like 2 or 3..... glad to have seen him live in SF...
"And he makes 1 guitar sound like 2 or 3" Exactly. What I see and what I hear doesn't match up.
The camera doesn't pan to his other guitarist.
@@walterdudedonny there is only him
so sad. what a talent!

This is so beautiful. Do you have any other videos from this set? I would love to hear / see them if you do.
💔💔💔
Great song, great playing. And FYI that's about a $150 guitar he's playing there.
Right that small black parlor model guitar
Recording king about 400@@charlesperry6093
Guitar players: don't try this at home.
Learned this the hard way
still cant figure out how he makes his guitar sound like that
The camera didn't pan over to his other guitarist.

I caught on way too late.
Huge fan. But something is going on here...he's looking for help for sound issues or something. He's still killing it but something is off..
Too bad I liked his songs and style he wasn't around long enough
Terminally cool.. pardon the expression
I hope he left his voice with his kiddo.
