My husband ordered the mats for the inside of the doors and I may not be tripping. I have friends with wheelchairs will have an easier time. Bob did the one notch only with the front door. Thank you. We have a safer entry and exit!
My old mum has just turned 90 and I finally persuaded her to get a light weight buggy to get about. This tip will help immensely. Cheers to you from the UK.
Thank you so much for this. My mother (87) is WC dependent with demetia, and has been living in 2 rooms for almost a year now. She only goes outside for physician appts. She has a beautiful big porch off her bedroom, but the WC couldn't go over the threshold. I bought the 1.5 inch for inside and 2 inch for outside of door and cut exactly as you showed, and we now have a whole new world open to her. These are heavy duty and heavy and absolutely perfect. Her world is so much bigger and brighter now, and being outside brings her such joy. I can't thank you enough for this. Truly a godsend.❤❤
Thank you Zack. I didn’t even realize this was available. I’ve been in a chair since 2013 and struggle with it every day even when I’m in power chair it’s still inconvenient. Thank you so much for everything you do. May God bless you my friend.
God bless your marriage over and over again. Each time I see a video with Cambry featured, I just can't hold my expression of appreciation. God bless you more and more.
He is an active, always want something to challenge him. His Beloved was a gift for him to show and to prove his talent. His task was done for joy of life and love.
Great easy solution, as someone who works in the code enforcement field, having the ability to provide solutions to violations is always a good thing. Keep it up.
Should you start a dedicated channel with "easy living with cambry"? I am in love with the PRACTICAL, WORKING Solutions! Yes, guessed it right, I am on wheelchair too!
I love how you are incorporating Cambri into all your videos. Perhaps let her lead a few as well. For any that might also have a disability, please include the link to what you find too. Which I now see you have. Thanks for sharing!
So cool Jerry your the tops dude the world needs more guys like you in. Yeah that little not even an inch in the floor can be so dangerous for someone on wheels I should know I don'r know how many times my 90 year old parent almost wiped out on it. In fact I have seen elderly folks in public get really hurt when they fell off their chair sitting down trying to have someone push them over it.
Wow thanks! I didnt even think about using it. My dad is a wheelchair user. I'm definitely going to use this thing instead of using cement to make a permanent ramp.
Been a sub of the other channel for years now. Been a paraplegic for 24 years. It's SO AWESOME that you started this channel! It's also awesome to see you and Cambry together!
I know this video is like, a year old, but I came across one of your videos with Cambry, and I would love to see her in more videos. I saw your video where you two met online and are in your early 30s. My husband and I met online too, and got married last year (I'm 31). Most of the women online I see are like...10 years younger than me haha. It's just nice to see a normal person, especially another woman who likes fixing things!! :)
I have been looking for something like this for my family room threshold. I use a walker and there is a tiny step going into my family room but it's a pain and if I have anything sitting on my walker seat it can scoot right off. I'm going to look into getting one of these right away! Thank you so much!
Wonderfull to see, just joined, since my wife is also in a wheelchair , i know how difficult it is to get /go somewhere, keep it up, and its great to see you both on here showing what can be done & cheap fixes to make house more accessible......
Omg you two are beautiful souls! I was filled with so much love just watching this video! Thank you!!! Oh and thanks also for the threshold tip, that looks like an awesome product. I was looking for threshold build-up ideas for my wife's new office that currently has a wheelchair access ramp with a terrible makeshift threshold. This product will be perfect! Blessings to you both! 🙏🏽 👍🏽+sub'd
I like that you both completely do great together in the videos both have that camera look they say and Cambria is that right. She fits the videos just the way she is. I really liked the bike video I know who has a bike that was made for him and he also uses them raisers. For his doors. He also has spring pulley system for his house to tricked out to even look at.
I don't have any questions for Cambry. I just want to say it always pleases me to see you both together. You were really made for each other. May God fill your life with happiness and love. My question for you Zack is, why did the tear down videos stop? China hasn't stopped making phones, has it! 😀
I’ve always thought a modified Segway would be a neat idea for someone in a wheelchair. Add some kind of actuator arm/s, attached to a seat, strap in. That way the person could also be sitting or at standing height. Great job on the ramp btw :)
Now all you need is for them to be put one on every single doorway......i was in a bad motorbike crash that left me in a wheelchair for over a year and I feel your pain, you don't realise how bad the pavements/sidewalks (I'm in Scotland) until you have to go around on a wheelchair I take my hat off to everyone who has to live the rest of the life's in one you have my unwavering admiration
You can just take off the threshold if it's not an exterior door that sees weather (garage door), and put a brees seal on the bottom of the door, to stop the wind. Although depending on how your wood flooring was laid, it may not go completely through and would have to replace the threshold with something else or the floor altogether. Coming from a man who's worked in construction for years. By the way Great videos👍
Great video guys, I see your wrist is getting better, congratulations on that, Australia is going through some really hard times, please people help if you can 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
Hey Zack and Cambry, here is a video idea. If Cambry still has her old wheelchair that you made her ring out of, why not durability test it? Scratches at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7, bend test, burn test, etc. to show how a wheelchair is a tool that needs to last. Cool video to possibly see, this was a helpful one too.
This video has absolutely no relevance for me, but damn I love it! Every project you guys make is fun to watch. But would be cool to get to know cambrey a bit more other than her disability ✌ But don't you dare ever building something without making a video of it! ;)💪
I remember when you installed the elevator in the bedroom, Cambry said that the ramp was to steep, how will you fix that? By the way Cambry you are an awesome and strong woman, you are very cool.
I had yet another fall involving the lip (weatherboard) at the base of my door this morning. So I was very pleased to find you video. However, the item is not available where I live. Can you recommend a site or channel that shows you how to make one? Or perhaps suggest a company that makes them to custom fit?
How high is the lip? At the office where I used to work, we were able to solve the problem with a piece of tapered baseboard moulding about 3 inches tall and a little over half an inch thick at the bottom. It wasn't quite as tall as the lip, but it "smoothed" the transition enough that I was able to easily roll over it in my manual chair. We did have to screw it to the floor because the drive wheels of the power chair kept moving it. The manual chair wheels probably would have sometimes moved it, too, but I was mostly using the power chair at the time, so I noticed the problem immediately.
After my next surgery, I'm going to need a wheelchair. Do you have any other little tips like this, to make life easier? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm mostly a rollator user who occasionally uses a wheelchair and I can get by on stairs with a cane. I can also traverse stairs sitting, but the problem I always run into afterward is difficulty getting by feet under me to stand again. I can lift myself with my arms, but the MS makes my legs stiff, and my feet slide out from under me. Is there something I could use to 'walk' up with my arms? Maybe a series of benches with handlebars on the sides so I can push myself up ro maybe 2.5 to 3 feet, enough to plant my heels under me. I can't use the walker to pull myself up, as it's too light and doesn't anchor in place.
We have a 16 1/2 year old Sheltie with arthritis. She needs a better way to get down to the step out the back door. She seems hesitant to do so because of apparent pain in her front right paw. I'm looking into a ramp for her to step down onto instead of just dropping onto the step. The threshold is 7" above the step. I saw a rubber ramp similar to the one in your video. Any suggestions?
Hey Zack, im new to your channel but have been watching a lot of your videos. I really want to see one where you talk about how you met your wife, first date ext.
