He was very forward thinking even 20 years ago. We certainly have the right technology now, with all the VR headsets that are now on sale at reasonable cost. His music on one of these would be incredible, it takes you away from the grim path of life for just a few mins.
Never noticed the fires on the beach on tb cover that Mike mentions. Glad to finally see them. My musical journey kind of started with Mike Oldfield with incantations and it's nice for him to be at the end of it as well pointing me in good directions. Love to see him so excited about his new stuff. Constantly innovative.does the music that excites and moves him first. Not many are able to do that.
well Mike , shame we didn't got the message with tres lunas, shame the online gaming wasn't the big game that time - you had the idea ! Make that game online today, make wonderfull ambient music and hidden masterpices to find and you have perfect online game i would pay to play online.
The music VR Project was a great idea from Mike! But, he worked with the wrong people on this project. The graphics in his game was not up to date. It was so sade, but the music was fantastic!
I had that VR game he talked about - gee, it was dull - flying around with weird things on a landscape.... unfortunatley it did not go anywhere, and so it failed in part becuase of the gruelling experience. But,.. it was a predecessor to a lot of music using technology (thinking Bjork) - something we will see more in AI
He is so modest even though he is one of the gratest composers.

Are they any good? You should keep your phone next to your bed so you can hum the tunes into the voice recorder, and work then out later!

It’s funny how he wanted to do a better version of TB1 but he’s never surpassed the original IMO.
