I just went to the website interested in purchasing one of these as my first RC airplane, but I have two questions. The description indicates four channels and doesn't mention the flight stabilization. Is this additional hardware added later, not mentioned out of error, or an upgrade? Second the battery doesn't appear to come with the kit, but you mentioned everything needed to fly is included. Honestly the price seems amazing even without the stability control or battery included. Now I just need to find a reasonable place to fly it nearby...

Awesome video as always my friends! That looks like a seriously great plane for a beginner with lots of room to grow! I'm a little confused though. If you changed out the reciever and used your own in it to use your radio was the excellent capabilities from using your own receiver? I thought that all the gyro stabilization stuff was built into the receiver? Which in that case means it was your receiver making fly so well, or is the gyro and stabilization stuff on a separate board in the plane? I know very little about planes lol hope you are doing well my friends! 🙏💯🤜🤛

A better review from you...of this plane...would be if you used the actual RTF radio instead of your more expensive radio. Please, don't get me wrong...I love you two and your contributions to the RC world. However, in ALL fairness to the "beginner" to RTF planes....you should fly this in a review...with the RTF radio and not your own fancier radio. Love you both. The German made Multiplex "Easy Star" was the very first Pusher Trainer back in 1992 with the indestructible Elapor Foam. All others are less durable EPO Clones with good features like landing gear.
Another great vid. Abby, you did awesome with your husband stunt flying this "beginner plane". You always had the plane in the frame and you kept up with all the stunts and upside down flying; especially in kind of low light. Should we call this AeroScout V2.0?? Look forward to seeing Abby at the controls. Thanks kids!!
@@Theshiningstare See if you can cruise around at half-throttle. Beginners make mistake of using full throttle, then the plane is too fast for your reflexes. Look for an AMA Club or flying mentor.
@@Theshiningstare I'm not familiar with the plane. If it has flaps, set it to take-off flaps and just leave it there. I'm saying 1st bit of flaps, not full flaps. It will fly slower with a bit of flaps out. Big field, light wind, find area without trees. If you feel you are losing control and it is headed for the ground, theen kill the throttle. Best to crash with NO Throttle, less damage that way.
Sadly no, at least I don’t believe because the servos come installed and the wires are attached to the servos. I should have tied a weight to a string, tied to the servo wire and then dropped that through the tail. You know me though, always doing things the hard way for way too long, then finally caving and doing what could have saved me time way after it’s too late, lol! 😂🤪👍😁⚓️
Nice flyer. Nice flying. Too loud! Way too loud. Could you recommend a quieter motor? If it were quieter it’s the type of plane you can keep in the car and fly at lunch time. Or after work.
Can you explain a little about your launch procedure? My launches aren't good and your was slick. It looks like you throttle up with chin while you hold the plane in your left land. How much throttle do you use at launch? Full? How much up elevator? Full or partial? Thanks for your help!
Hey, can you make a video on how to choose a good, budget, multi-protocol RC radio? Something that would work with the Eachine Mini Mustang and will also work with other models?
Hei Abby, could you give it a try to convince your guy to do video on the ZOHD Drift. He did give it a try, but due to the radio settings, that turned out into drama ;-) Or perhaps you fly the Drift? The Drift does not have a rudder like the Prodigy (no knife edge) , and it's not from a USA family owned company, but is sure is a great and acrobatic glider. And sub250, which is great for your viewers in the EU!
I'm not that big into pushers, but I am really impressed. I would like to see this sold as a PNP, but it is pretty reasonable. How would you compare this plane to the AeroScout? I would love to grab one for the hanger. Let me know your thoughts, and thanks for sharing as always.
This is a old vid, but where do you put the 1300 and 2200 batteries at? Full forward with both batteries is still tail heavy. Ill try nose weight, but im sure you would have said something about that in the video.
I've flown off grass many times, BUT occasionally one wing will dip a little and spin the plane to the side which puts side pressure on the nose and breaks it. Having said that I haven't mastered hand launching yet either. GREAT flyer once its in the air. I use AS3X on breezy days which really helps.
I got the RC plane bug & I bought this plane about 2 weeks ago. Arrows had a deal on the Prodigy for $149 when I bought it. I have a Mini Eachine T-28 Trojan I just got, & I just ordered the Bigfoot. The Bigfoot will be here tomorrow, I'm new to RC planes, & I've never flown a plane before. Only my DJI Camera Drones & a few Eachine helicopters. Which plane out of the 3 I own, should I try to learn on ? I'm thinking the Prodigy or the Trojan might be the easiest, correct me if I'm wrong.
Hi guys, great video as always. I started out with the f959 and then got a zohd drift. These have been great but I'd like something 4 channel and bigger but I'm still very much in the learning phase. Do you think this would be a good fit? Also what are the flight times like on the stock 3s battery and could this connect to a flysky i6 transmitter if I swap the receiver? Thank you.
I have a question that I need to ask you I wonder if you can tell me what's the difference between the 5S husky and the 6s husky or are they both the same?
Hi thanks for the video I enjoyed it. I’m thinking of buying one of these. But before I do. Can you please tell me is there enough cable in the wings to remove them for transportation. Thanks once again mark
It’s been a while since I assembled this, but I believe the wires would need to be unplugged when taking the wings apart for transporting. I’d just get longer servo wires (servo wire extensions) to work around this. Cheap problem solved 😉👍😁😎⚓️
Does flying rc planes help in learning how to fly a real plane? I wonder if you could land a cesna if something was to happen to the pilot with only rc plane knowledge ? Great video I love all the content
Could you explain what the transmitter and receiver that comes with the plane are like? You swapped out the stock receiver pre flight. How would the gear that is provided perform? Thinking about getting one for a friend who is new to RC. I assume the transmitter is really not a unit that you would want to use for the “next” plane. The website does not list that the transmitter is even part of the package, but it’s listed as “ready to fly”, so I’m assuming something is included?
Looks like it flies like my overpowered bixler2. Its a lil too acrobatic so I dialed back the throw of the ailerons and bought a cheap gyro. Setting up the rudder on the gyro is a little vague cause when ya turn the plane, the gyro makes several movements before stopping. ANY HELP? I think I will video the rudder movements, then spend some time watching it Oh Wow! RcSaylor tshirts for 17 bucks. I can afford that!!!!
I found the throttle lagged with the original handset but is much more responsive when running with my dx6e. Might just be a limitation of the supplied RTF hand set, just a guess.
I was pulling my hair out trying to decide between the Bixler 1.1 V2, Multiplex Easystar 3, and the Arrows Prodigy. Thanks to your review i purchased the Arrows. Thanks for the review. Can the transmitter be changed to mode 1? I have a DX7S but cant afford a Spektrum reciever with SAFE yet, so plan on learning with the supplied radio. I fly mode 1 and was hoping i could go inside and swap the ratchet over to mode 1.
It is Mode 2 and no sign of being able to switch it to Mode 1 I'm afraid. Just put a Spektrum AR620 in mine bound to a dx6e no problems yet in the hangar testing stage. The Prodigy comes with a switchable gyro so you do not need SAFE just swap out the receiver. The servo connectors will probably be in a different order so just swap the connectors at the receiver accordingly. Arrows run AETR whereas Spektrum run TAER on the receiver pins. Sorry if you already know this but hope it helps.
@@MH-vr2bv thanks for the reply. I have had my Prodigy for a couple of weeks now and can confirm that the supplied radio can easily be switched to mode 1. The radio system must be reasonably smart because after i switched the tx to mode 1, i did not need to swap any leads over in the receiver. The radio somehow recognised the ratchet in its new position. The Prodigy flies like a dream. I am a reasonably inexperienced pilot who has spent most of my time flying 3 chanel gliders. I launch in full stabilised mode then switch back to the as3x type setting to fly. The plane is so predictable and stable and allows for rapid skill progression
This big plane is actually $169 RTF with a TX, RX, Gyro, and battery? Thats unheard of. The Arrows website isnt very clear about what you get. You cant even get the little Eachine planes that cheap anymore.
Like watching your channel. Question, I bought the Prodigy based on your review, but I have one issue that I hope you can answer. Everything works, except for the throttle. What am I doing wrong? If you can help, Thank you
when i got my prodigy the throttle worked fine then a few flights later i crashed it on take off and the throttle wouldnt respond, the issue was that the 2 connectors inside the ventilation part disconected so i plugged them back together asnd it worked good as new.
@@jasonaustin7981 ya nothing is free to Canada. Anything else I buy from the US I try to go USPS because places like ups etc gouge at the border. Some companies won't even ship to Canada. Why I asked. Thanks for the reply
$60 difference right up front. That’s something like a 25% difference in price! Granted, the Aeroscout is probably the better beginner airplane, I’d say this new Prodigy has WAY more progression to advance on with obviously higher speeds, and more aggressive maneuvers. The Scout is more forgiving I think, so if you are a first time flyer I would go with your gut based on confidence / knowledge of aviation and hand eye coordination 👍😁😎⚓️
Great plane, large & in charge. Some good fancy flying as always Nate. Since this has a pusher prop I feel ok to GENTLEY Push ➡️mediforicly ⬅️😉 on Abby to be the pilot the next time we s👁e👁e this in the air. Nate you can do the drone following. Abby you said you would, & I know you can. Abby, Abby, Abby 😄😄🤗🤗. ⚓⚓👍💛💜💚👍⚓⚓.
Literally the only way to answer this is for either you to reach out to the FAA and ask extremely specifically for what and how you will be flying, or hope they reach out to you! This whole thing is such a mess, no one has definitive solid answers and we’ve spoken with the FAA numerous times personally and legal teams. It’s. A. Mess. 💯⚓️
0 seconds ago Just put one of these together and replaced the receiver with a Spektrum AR620 to bind to my dx6e. The only problem I had was with connecting the tail section. The carbon spar in the main front fuselage section protrudes rearward a mm or so too far meaning the tail section of the fuselage does not butt up perfectly and the screw cannot be fixed in even whilst compressing the two sections firmly together. I have scraped a little material off of the end of the spar which has enabled me to fix the screw but I'm still not 100% happy with it and more needs to come off. Something to be aware of if anyone has a problem with this. My only modification is a longer 30cm Y connector for the ailerons to allow the wings to be removed for transport. The standard Y price is just too short but OK if you never need to take the wings off. Not flown it, still testing the gyro settings, have mapped them to switch G.

Thank you.
Can someone please advise me on the size of the pusher propellor?
I have a question that I need to ask you I wonder if you can tell me what's the difference between the 5S husky and the 6s husky or are they both the same?
Love the hat Nate!
Thanks Greg! 👍😁😎⚓️
Can this plane glade well? I'm looking for my first plane and I think this fits the bill.
I've got zero experience, but want to learn RC sailplanes. Can I teach myself to fly with a good open field and this aircraft? TIA
100% yes. Happy to answer any additional questions you might have! 👍💯⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors I appreciate you! I am moving to Vancouver WA next weekend. Soon to start flying, I hope!
Late squad tonight happy flying all 😎😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Sorry my friend! We released this one a lot earlier in the day today. Glad you stopped by! Hope you are gearing up for a nice weekend 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors it’s ok fun fact I’m at least the 400 like 👍 ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Hi thanks for the video I enjoyed it.
I got one. It's LOUD !!! Any way to quiet it down?
Does flying rc planes help in learning how to fly a real plane? I wonder if you could land a cesna if something was to happen to the pilot with only rc plane knowledge ? Great video I love all the content
Yes it does my mate at field went to fly a real plane he was given controls and teacher said aww you’ve flown before ? and he had …….. rc planes ?😜👍
where did you mount the stabilization unit? thanks in advance
What do you recommend as very first plane?
Could you explain what the transmitter and receiver that comes with the plane are like? You swapped out the stock receiver pre flight. How would the gear that is provided perform? Thinking about getting one for a friend who is new to RC. I assume the transmitter is really not a unit that you would want to use for the “next” plane. The website does not list that the transmitter is even part of the package, but it’s listed as “ready to fly”, so I’m assuming something is included?
Was wondering the same thing
can you please do a flight with separate landing gear on it
What battery plug do I need to buy? Im new to electric flight. Thanks
Looks like it flies like my overpowered bixler2. Its a lil too acrobatic so I dialed back the throw of the ailerons and bought a cheap gyro. Setting up the rudder on the gyro is a little vague cause when ya turn the plane, the gyro makes several movements before stopping. ANY HELP? I think I will video the rudder movements, then spend some time watching it
Oh Wow! RcSaylor tshirts for 17 bucks. I can afford that!!!!
I found the throttle lagged with the original handset but is much more responsive when running with my dx6e. Might just be a limitation of the supplied RTF hand set, just a guess.
I want that plane
@@mrlemonadesandwich how did you switch the supplied transmitter to mode 1....did you just swap the control levers?
@@MH-vr2bv just opened the tx up like any other and swapped the ratchet from one stick to the other. Same procedure as with my Spektrum radios
Have you got a speedy bee 3 yet? Got mine. Bad coder near computer illiterate. Want one of those planes
This or a sky surfer x8 for a newish flyer?
This big plane is actually $169 RTF with a TX, RX, Gyro, and battery? Thats unheard of. The Arrows website isnt very clear about what you get. You cant even get the little Eachine planes that cheap anymore.
That is exactly right. Yes. For that price you get all of that. Very cool! 👍😁😎⚓️
The Prodigy is only about £15-£20 more than the Pioneer in the UK....that seems wrong given how much more material there is in the Prodigy.
What is the mas range of the RTX RADIO AND RECEIVER?
Like watching your channel. Question, I bought the Prodigy based on your review, but I have one issue that I hope you can answer. Everything works, except for the throttle. What am I doing wrong? If you can help, Thank you
Mine is having the same issue. Were you able to resolve it?
when i got my prodigy the throttle worked fine then a few flights later i crashed it on take off and the throttle wouldnt respond, the issue was that the 2 connectors inside the ventilation part disconected so i plugged them back together asnd it worked good as new.
Do these arrows planes ship to Canada?
Yes but shipping is 5 day or faster but cost$$ no free shipping
@@jasonaustin7981 ya nothing is free to Canada. Anything else I buy from the US I try to go USPS because places like ups etc gouge at the border. Some companies won't even ship to Canada. Why I asked. Thanks for the reply
Lovely. Cost?
When we recorded this we didn’t have that info, sadly. Here it is though bit.ly/3IktWB1
Nicke one man.
I'm curious, do you by any chance have an overall favorite rc plane that's under $50 ? Thank you!
I’m sorry my friend. That price point is so hard to come up with anything worth recommending these days. Inflation is just wild.
There’s no rc plane for less than $50 I did got one a cennsa plane for $40 but not the best to fly maybe you can build one for less than $50
It is like the xk a1200 plane just bigger flys like it and handles like it too
Bought this plane last week ESC is faulty or the engine is faulty what do you think could be the problem.
Did you purchase this plane using our link my friend?
@@TheRcSaylors no I wish I had.
I’m having a similar issue. Were you able to solve it? My motor won’t turn on
I am a HUGE fan of my Aeroscout. Give me your comparison please.
Do I need rfid on my own property? I have acres.
Literally the only way to answer this is for either you to reach out to the FAA and ask extremely specifically for what and how you will be flying, or hope they reach out to you! This whole thing is such a mess, no one has definitive solid answers and we’ve spoken with the FAA numerous times personally and legal teams. It’s. A. Mess. 💯⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors I know. I lost interest in the hobby for a while because of it. They saw what drones could do in a fight and they got scared. Of us....
Does it come with a controller?
Yep👍🏼
Are you flying one?
Hey.. make sure you get the RTF( ready to fly) package, that’s the one that comes with everything you need to get flying!! Good luck and have fun
@Didjeridoolove do you need a license to fly the airplane?
@@Didjeridoolove thanks a lot
Will it thermal??
I haven’t tried to be honest, but I’m going to say a pretty strong yes 👍😁😎⚓️
Thanks. Please, let us know if you get a chance. Too cold here!

Just put one of these together and replaced the receiver with a Spektrum AR620 to bind to my dx6e.
