An astounding time capsule you put together there. It's amazing how some things change drastically over time (like a building now where once a street was, or the 76 gas station which grounds now look like there never was anything) and other things that look exactly the same now as they did then (some alleys you've shown, the same windows and doors, same stair railings, houses looking like they have never been touched by time or man, in one alley even the gutters look untouched!) Really mind-blowing! Thanks for sharing!
Usually before and after shots show how run down a place has become. This place has really been taken care of and improved. Looks a great place to live 👍
2:45 Covina Hobby is still there behind the cop car. Nice. And now, that's just fancy. The dingy back alley of 1983 now has new asphalt and those very nice and fancy streetlights.
Some of these don't look the same as they did in 1983.I found it difficult to recognise the now photos than how it looked in 1983.Thankyoy for yet another fascinating Knight Rider video,Joe.
I am born in 1981, but wish it was that era now. For some reason i dont feel at home in this period. I like the technology and i dont like it at the same time. Mobile phones made people different, as did the internet. And people themselves have changed as well. Back them everything seemed just simpeler...
I see that haven't corrected the city name yet. I'll subscribe when they are serious about Covina and Historical events for the show. For those in the know I can't tell from the photographs for sure, but wasn't 122 Citrus Street. Whats there now? Thats a Google photo.
Thank you for saying that Beth about it not being West Covina. it was driving me nuts watching this video knowing exactly all these locations. But we're really bumped me out is they did not show El loco
Sorry Knight Rider, but most of those street scenes that you showed are actually in the City of Covina, Not West Covina. I know because I have lived in both towns during my 70 year life. Cool comparisons though ! Check out the sign above the COVINA Hobby Shop @ 2:45 in the video.
Thanks so much Man for the video!!!! man it is so hard to figure out what alleys they were shooting at. any alley in Los Angeles looks the same amazing job congratulations keep on posting these videos!!!!
That was so bad ass. I remember an interview with Jack Gill in which he mentioned this jump. He said it was really dangerous, because of the speed and the (no)space. The steering column broke when landing and he couldn`t steer anymore. So he hit nearly every house in that alley before he could stop. :-DD
I have watched so many of these types of videos and they get more and more sad each one i watch lol. Its just amazing seeing how open our society was back in the 80s and now everything is blocked off and boarded up.
I lived in west Covina ca, My cousin's lived in covina ca, This was filmed in covina citrus ave most filming was near E.school st and citrus ave today 2020 it's block off. ..
Really, if they are documenting it as historical changes then why change the name of our City? Covina and West Covina are two different cities. Just like Virginia and West Virginia are two different states. Please correct this error.
This is great! Can you put together a google map of all of the locations for this vid and the other vid you made, please, so I can look at them in Google Earth, and maybe go there someday?
They do not speculate on the 1983 photo but one side ally scene looks like Sal Pacino's bar and grill and Hotel on CITRUS AVE. Surprised Sal didn't host the Hollywood crew. He was always with Hollywood people and very proud if his son Al. Oh well Google maps can only do so much
Most of this location is not West Covina it's Covina two different places.. I lived in west Covina and my cousins lived in Covina the 10 fwy was like a divider ..
the fact that they manage to keep the location clean and identical is really impressive

Whoever put this video together give yourself a raise 😂😂😂. The past and current filming locations was dope, and the music was great!!!
Thank you!

Wow! I lived in West Covina from 2018-2021! I never realized those episodes were shot in old town Covina! 😯
Some of these don't look the same as they did in 1983.I found it difficult to recognise the now photos than how it looked in 1983.Thankyoy for yet another fascinating Knight Rider video,Joe.
I'd give just about anything to go back to 1983.... heavy Sigh
You forgot where you parked your > insert your preferred time machine here < ?
😂

West Covina doesn't have a regular town, That's Covina and I lived there for many years was there the day they filmed.
You mean a downtown?
Did you take any photos of them filming? If so, we would love to see them! Knightriderhistorians@gmail.com
@@Dragongst No sorry, I didn't know they were gonna be there.

Literally every changed around that fire hydrant.. 0:32
This is great it's always nice to see how things have changed

Wow that Hobby store is still there after 36 years. 2:55
I know, that's awesome that it's was still around in the "today" pics, and with the sign that was on the show!
@@GreenJeep1998 Good catch!!!
came here to say the same thing! Its amazing to see many of the same buildings and houses still the same.
Thanks so much Man for the video!!!! man it is so hard to figure out what alleys they were shooting at. any alley in Los Angeles looks the same amazing job congratulations keep on posting these videos!!!!
The jump at 1:33 is one of my all time favorites.

@@Juggernaut30 Wow, never saw your reply. That's crazy, but not surprising, it's such a far jump, and he had to be so precise on where he was going.
Hobby shop in the same place for 36 years, that's amazing.
That hobby has been since the early 70's that I can recall
@@derbydriver7431 That's amazing.

The hobby store in the background of one of the scenes is still there. Great content guys.
That is not West Covina's downtown. West Covina doesn't have a downtown. That is Covina's downtown.
This is actually Covina, CA. West Covina, CA is west of Covina. Two different cities.
Nice video. Thanks. It would've been better if the before and after pictures were taken at a more perfect angle.
Excellent, thanks guys!
I lived in west Covina ca,
My cousin's lived in covina ca,
This was filmed in covina
citrus ave most filming was near E.school st and citrus ave today 2020 it's block off. ..
The music is like Knight Rider on Acid. Must be the Hoffs new record.
Excellent, great find guys.
It's Covina, not West Covina ;) Just saying.

Excellent video
Great video, what about history of the other screen used kitt that’s in a museum
Amazing
Wow how did you nail down the exact locations? Where did you get that level of detail?
This is amazing! And yes, having the before pic, the angles could've been a little more matchy. And Covina Hobby tho! WOW!
That would be cool have knight rider doing same scene location in the show but in a new generation just like it was back in 1983
What is that music in this video? I can't work out if I love it or hate it and it's not very often you can say that!....lol..!!
Most of this location is not West Covina it's Covina two different places.. I lived in west Covina and my cousins lived in Covina the
10 fwy was like a divider ..
Thanks 😁
It looks like old town covina ..another classic film in there is waynes worlds bohemian raphsody music video..

It would be interesting to see them on a map with camera directions.
Looks like many of the utility poles were removed over the years to help clean up the town aesthetics.
Would be great if you add coordinates :)
This is not West Covina, it’s old town covina.
for more videos like this one of all episodes
They made it decent again.
Um, yeah this is a great video but that is Covina not West Covina.
