I am originally from Tampa. At one point, while being my mothers caregiver, my huband and I visited a tiny house builder in Orlando. While trying to decide if this was the way we wanted to go, the question also was where would we put it! This is when we were told about the Lakeside community. So we checked it out. It was so new that not much had been done, and it was definitely a work in progress! We spoke with the owner, who was very nice. He told us his plans, which sounded wonderful! But we just didn't feel comfortable in a non completed community, so we passed. The lake was definitely beautiful and great location! So fast forward to now, I am so happy to see how wonderful his vision has come true! Your hard work and passion for the life you've dreamed of has certainly paid off, and it truly shows! As for me and my husband, life has taken us in a different direction for now. If it ever changes back to Florida, who knows, maybe we'll end up in your beautiful community 😊 Job well done! I wish you all the best to a long, happy, content life❤ Thank you so much for sharing this awesome story!
That's living the dream. I love the visionaries who make their dreams come true! Not only the landlord, but the tenants all appear happy to call this place home.
I love the idea of the city being several miles away. You could walk or bike to greater "civilization." I wonder if this is more on the rural side or what?
Seems like a wonderful community! I hope communities like this one continue to pop up and flourish. And Constance is clearly a gem! I just know that I would love having a neighbor and friend like her.
Great video . I stayed there in an air bnb rental about 4years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The community is lovely and being by the water was so relaxing. I was curious as to what tiny house living was like. More communities should be zoned for this across the country.
What a beautiful serene place to live, I've been watching tiny homes for the last 2yrs & i have to say it's my dream to live in one but in Northern Ireland it's just not possible, beautiful community & lovely people, God bless ❤️☘️🇮🇪
You should google the question 'how can I live in a tiny house in NI'. There are like minded people there, and if it's like other countries, it depends on zoning laws in your area. If they don't understand them, maybe you'll need to join or form a group to lobby for better rules.
I stayed there way back when they began, more than half the park was still trailers and other types of RV's. It was quiet and peaceful still, and the few tiny-home residents were very friendly and welcoming. Recently (Jan 2024) I stopped by to see the progress, and was pleasantly surprised on how beautiful it is now with all the improvements. I think they were all tiny-homes. I just wish the park was a little bigger so I can bring my own tiny-home.
From what he said, lots may open up occasionally, as well as the option of buying a home someone is selling on a lot. It sounded like there was just a longer wait for an empty lot.
I’m so happy for you! That you made your dream come true! To wake up & love everyday & love what you do, that is the ultimate dream ✨ I pray I’ll be able to do it myself one day soon. What a nice person he is to have built this beautiful community. I love it. The houses look beautiful inside. They all did a great job with the houses and having a fire pit is great. Great job! 👍
What a wonderful story from this young man! I’m so happy to hear wonderful stories such as his. He has done a wonderful job putting that together this tiny house community ! Those days are over for me looking for a better future at age 71 and disabled. I loved the fact that they do have single story tiny homes….. stairs are not my friend!!! Anyway thank you for sharing your story and all the best for you! Washington State🇺🇸👋🏻
I remember in 2008 when I was going to buy a mobile home in this community but he is correct it was run down bad, he has turned it into an amazing community. Respect
That's a very nice community. I like that the lots are a bit larger than most mobile home parks. The lot rent is a bit high, but the amenities are very nice. The huge fire pit area, laundry on site, great to have. Question /curious - the property insurance must be very high. I live in Florida, north of Tampa and homeowners insurance has been crazy the past few years, raises every year. I'm not in a flood zone and I'm 100 plus miles in from the gulf, so not directly effected by hurricanes but insurance is still high. I would think being on a lake it would be higher plus the Florida factor.
Don’t do it! These communities are no different than what is happening now to mobile home parks, the rents are going UP UP UP! And now we cant afford them. What starts at $200 a month has now gone up over $1000 a month. Buy land if you go tiny, DO NOT GO INTO A COMMUNITY! And saying you can move the home think again, many towns wont allow them
It is beautiful. Do they see gators coming up on their lawns? The owner looks like a nice man. The community seems to be cool. Thanks for the video and information.
I'm a permaculturist down in South FL, zone 10B. Try Danvers Carrots, haven't had any critters come after them. Everglades tomatoes are prolific. Happy growing!
Any time anyone mentions Orlando, I wrinkle my nose. Not anymore. I had no clue that such a pastoral existence was possible there. Thought it was all dirty city and Disney. Happy to be wrong. Bless the founder and all the good residents. If they don't mind an oldie book editor/p.t. retail worker, they might see me there in the coming year.
I’m staying here in one of the lakefront rentals now. Beautiful property being right on the lake but could never live here. The homes are too close together. I need a little more privacy. Overall great experience and alternate to staying in a hotel for a few days😊
What about if you're introverted and want to live in a tiny community but appreciate quiet and solitude? College kids screaming? Yikes! And even people hanging with their neighbors can get pretty rowdy as well. I saw someone with a couple of dogs. I wonder if there are any tiny communities where dog-free people who are introverts can live in one particular part of the property.
@@johnnyrambles Seriously, though. I wonder if this place bans kids. It's trending a little young here. 20s to 40s is a lot younger than I am in my late 50s. I thought tiny homes were mostly populated with seniors who are retired.
If that's what you're looking for, then you're definitely in luck in Florida. This park is actually a bit of an outlier with younger residents, as there are are a countless number of 55+ mobile home communities in Florida. Many of which allow tiny homes, and by law 55+ communities are the only places allowed to restrict residents by age (Not allow children). @@lemurianchick
@@lemurianchickNo, younger people want to live this life because more and more are becoming aware of sustainability. We want to live a cleaner more simplistic life connected to nature.
