I’m in Australia and there’s nothing available anywhere that’s near a decent sized town or city for that kind of price! The house is nice, but the layout feels restrictive for this family. The mother could'nt even sit upright in the loft. It does not look confortable. I saw other layouts for family which seems more suitable. They seem to be very nice people and I wish then well, joy and success on their life projects

@@seattlegirl2077 Kids do need to be closely supervised on them. They’re probably safer for young kids than older, heavier kids but I haven’t looked at the statistics for that. I think the biggest danger that kids are facing these days is inactivity and the chronic conditions that result from that. It’s refreshing to see kids spending a lot of their day outside and active, both from a mental health and physical health perspective.

Just recently I have been seeing lots of tiny's with black and dark green interior colors. If you live in an area with lots of sunshine like Florida, Arizona, California I can understand it - rest the eyes. However if you live in a rainy climate I want white or very light background colors. It's a personal preference. They have made it all work for their family. Cheers to them and lots of outdoor entertainment for the kids - perfect.
What a great story this couple has. Very inspirational and this couple is the perfect example of don’t judge a book by its cover. She said how they became the same people they didn’t understand. Two great kids and have something to call their own. Well done. And to top it off God was guiding their journey. Absolutely He is. The bravery is what more of us need to obtain because personal possessions and fear are what paralyze most of us from those opportunities in life.
love they were thinking about the children for the pool, chickens ,( bonus eggs), Trampoline, lovely interesting yard they have . the interior design reminds me of an old library or coffee shop from the 1800's , It is definitely different. Nice that they were able to purchase the land in the long run its probably cheaper. as for color it is what someone likes and can live with , for me too much black is depressing, I would have chose lighter colors , and just incorporate black in other simple ways . It does have a nice layout .

I love the yard that they have created, with their chickens and dog, trampoline and pool. It really is great for kids to have all of that outdoor space! I think they've done a great job of their house - clothes hanging space in that bump-out is very clever. It's great to do the inside yourself, and be able to live in it while working on the finishing details like trim. It makes live so much more affordable. Kudos to the Ocampos for doing it!

Indigo river homes has mastered the stand up lofts. It just doesn't make any sense not to have stand up lofts in a tiny house at this point, especially if the area is for adults. It makes it safer and easier to utilize that area.
They spent approximately 20k on this home. You're not going to find an Indigo or other tiny home for that price. It works for them now but plan to upgrade to a 750 sw ft home in the next 2 to 3 years.
To add to your counter space you could get a butcher block piece to fit your sink or add a flip-up counter on the end of your counter. A portable island could add space as well. Cheers,Sandy in Canada

Just a helpful suggestion: The turtle looks like a Red Eared Slider. They get as large as a dinner plate. Unfortunately pet stores don't tell people all the expense and proper requirements. They get as large as dinner plates. They must have a UVA and UVB lights so they can properly absorb calcium and these lights are vital for their needs such as shell health. I want to encourage the owners to do some research into sliders. Many die prematurely because pet stores employees and many times the owners do not know their requirements. A rescue group will sometimes take them if you are unable to get a bigger tank and proper lighting. There are also FB groups that can help you so you'll know what your shell babies need. They don't do well in pairs or more because almost always they get along great until one will take a bite of the other one.
Yep your spot on, on how to obtain an affordable home solution... I did the same thing bought a home for 10k, 1200sq.ft, put in another 20k for remodeling. Bought 3-1/2 wooded acres @ 40k in a community that already supplied electric meters & they clear trees for house, install a pad, & has septic. I put in a crushed crete driveway & cattle gate.❤ Wha-la... a home + land. There ARE things like this & what you did out there.😊
I love that you were able to purchase your lot. When I see tiny homeowners renting a lot for $750 or more I cringe because it steals joy from tiny home living in my opinion. And yes I’m a tiny home owner and land owner. No mortgages or space rent for us thanks.
You have such a cool lot nice size for kids and pets or just get together BBQ. I love the tree that covers your whole yard except the corner where you put the pool. The shade from it must be incredible and help keep your home cool in the summer
Hey girl easy fix on counter space, have your hubby attach a piece of wood same size "width" & however long you want where you can still get around it, attach to end of counter in a L shape with hinges & wood collapsible legs. When not in use fold down. You definitely need the big sink with the family you have though.
Love your house, and the constant changes are actually a good idea for a growing family in a tiny home. On the topic of the kitchen sink, I would advise not to go too small. You still need to be able to wash your biggest pot in there.

Be careful with the trampoline. My niece was jumping and got her tooth stuck on the netting and it unfortunately yanked it out. She was about 8 years old when it happened. Freak accident but it can happen 😢
So to help you with the dishes situation I started having each of the people in my home their own dish and I wash the main dishes such as pots and pans plus mine plate. Keeps our sink clean and tidy at all times we clean them right away when we're done eating. just a friendly suggestion.
I think you heard God right. My kids are teens now but an elderly friend who was a teacher encouraged us to reduce toys and keep it to 6 or 7 each at a time. I didn't listen - and I regret it! Their bedrooms are such a mess, they hoard things and feel too overwhelmed to keep their own space tidy. Also the outdoor area is gold...
The interior of the house is too dark. The black and emerald colours dont brighten up the home. Should opt for pastel and brighter colour combinations.

Make a cover for the sink and/or flip-up counter extension. Loads of people do that to have more countertop space.
Not a color combo I would have picked but it works. They did a wonderful job.
I wouldn’t change the sink. Get a large cutting board that goes over the sink to increase prep area.
