- Jacks or Better Video Poker is one of the easiest video poker strategies to learn. In a new series of videos The Mystic Gambler focuses on individual segments of the strategy. That allows new players to become familiar with one or two proper holds and draws at a time. That's far less daunting than feeling like they have to learn a complicated video poker strategy all at one time.

Never was able to find 9 - 6 jacks or better machines on the strip. Found some in a distant corner at South Point.
It's increasing hard to find. Casinos prefer the losing pay tables. If using a strategy didn't work they wouldn't care. May the good news be yours!
Thanks for the music, love APP
The real trick is finding a 9/6 machine. Best I can ever find is 9/5, but typically only gamble in AC and Vegas.
That's a fair point. But another trick is to learn the strategy of the best paying short machine and get every dollar out of it that you can. Thanks for the comment.
never played video poker before. How do you know a machine is a 9/6, 8/5 machine by looking? is it in the help option?
@@JWinners24 It should list the pay table when you select the game. For Jacks or Better look at the payout for full houses and flushes. 9x and 6x are pretty rare, but represent the best return to player.
@@tkell31 oh cool. Thanks for the reply!
@@JWinners24 And if you are going to play a decent amount google the best strategy. I thought I knew it, but there are a lot of small things that will over time increase your rate of return.
How does it make sense to hold the low pair? There then only 2 chances in the deck for a win. If you hold the 2 high cards you have 6 chances to win or break even.
Holding two unsuited high cards is fine - if you don't have a low pair, 4 to a flush or straight flush or a paying hand. But if you're dropping low pairs, you're losing money. It sounds like you need to learn how to play this game. Here's a free strategy chart for you: garybry.gumroad.com/l/JOB-Chart
@chrissullivan It's all about percentages of different hands . Math 8s your friend

My rule is if I have any pair- low or high, I hold, even if I have a straight or flush draw. The only exceptions are a 4 to a royal flush or straight flush.
I often switch my strategies to see if they still hold, and this rule still holds true for me.
How is a card unsuited I thought you hold any card that is a jack but there have been times where I've had Too Faced cards or two Aces and didn't get anything
I keep coming back to your question without replying because I'm not sure what you're asking, but I'll try. A single face card can be held but holding other cards may statistically be better. A common example is being dealt a King, an 8. and a pair of 5s. While it is possible for the King to improve on the draw, there are far more possibilities by holding the pair of 5s. The same is true for two-suited face cards in a hand that has a low pair. Holding the pair is by far the best hold because of the chances of it converting to a far better hand than holding the two face cards. Pairs rule!

What do you do when you have 2 face cards of a different suit and no low pair?
In both Jacks or better and Double Double Bonus, just hold the two face cards. Thanks for the question.
Where anywhere is 9-6 Jacks or better machines?? Just returned from LV, best i saw was 8-5, as low as 7-5.
There are virtually zero 9/5 machines on the strip. You have to go downtown or otherwise off-strip.
I know there is at least one off strip at the Orleans...
I went to Lake Charles LA and saw several but you have to make the highest bets to get it
I’m in Biloxi, MS. IP Casino has 9/6 JoB! I’ve hit a Royal Flush one time!
I found some at the Plaza this past spring
Do you ever hold a low pair and a single jack or better card in the hopes for two pair?
Nope. If you get a low pair, just hold the low pair. Remember, there's a lot of hands in that deck. Thanks for the comment.
You do not do anything out of hopes or feelings. You play the move that mathematically gives the highest expected value.
@@GaryLuKOTH so is it mathematically more feasible to dump the lower pair that won’t pay out and keep a jack or better in hopes to score a payout or is it more profitable to hope for three of a kind or two pair?
@@deliciousfishes If your best two plays are holding a low pair and holding a high card, then your situation is unprofitable either way. But it is much better to save the low pair than to hold the high card. I cannot give the math off of the top of my head since it is complicated, but there are hand analyzers online that can do it efficiently.
@@GaryLuKOTH thanks for the advice. I would truly love to see the numbers on this.
how to reach level 80?
?
Mines have a 10 7 pay table. What that means?
That sounds like a double bonus game but there are others that are like that.
@@TheMysticGambler so is that a good thing or bad?
I hate all of them. They’re all designed to take your money. Strategy my ass.
You're right. They want your money. Everybody wants your money. Play wisely in life and in the casino.
