I’ve been wanting to know how to know which cards to hold and which to not for so long. This video is exactly what I needed to help know which cards to hold and which ones not to great video. Thank you very much!
Hi Linda, great video on strategy on the games. I've been playing for over 25 years and the first thing I learned is pay table and of course strategy. The SF3 hands are frequently missed by players and they do have value in comparison to high cards or discarding everything.
Holding K-Q-J-10 makes a lot of sense in context, just with all of the outs for winning: 3 kings, 3 queens, 3 jacks, 4 aces, and 4 nines gives you 17 cards out of 47 in the deck to hit your hand. It's basically 1 in 3 to win
Appreciate the info and look forward to putting your advice in action! Please produce a video with more strategies for progressive video poker. Thanks!
The strategy for progressive jackpots will change based on how high the jackpot has reached. The only way to know the correct play is to create a strategy chart with a video poker program. You have to enter the amount of the jackpot and then have the program create the correct strategy for you. On our web site we sell the three best video poker strategy trainer software programs and they are all sold at discounted prices. See them here - www.americancasinoguide.com/video-poker-software.html
Thanks Linda! Your vid was most instructive. I had printed the VP strategy charts off the ACG website, but seeing these hands in action really brings the charts to life a bit more. peace
great video! i’m still a rookie to video poker and this video has been very helpful. going to the casino in 2 weeks. so i’ll be studying this till then 😎
what are your thoughts on online casinos that have video poker? a site i play on has 9/6 jacks or better. are these sites required to follow the same standards as “real” machines?
I have a problem with getting a unsuited A Q J with two low cards. Sometimes my training software tells me to hold the A and other times it tells me to hold the QJ but it doesn't tell me why.
if you are dealt two pair in video poker, should you draw to the full house, keeping the 2 pair or should you draw to the 4 of a kind by drawing 3 to the pair
In jacks or better, you should keep the two pair and draw for the full house. If you were playing double double bonus poker and one of the pair was aces, then you would throw away the second pair and just keep the aces, hoping to get four aces.
Stopping by to cheer you on friends. Fun to watch video poker. I don't usually play it, but interested in learning how. Cheering you on. Thanks, Pk & GMAN
the Reno / Sparks area still have a high percent of progressive video poker machines, especially the non hotel casinos ..in fact I will only play those if not deluged when the jackpot gets higher...so these tips would only hold to machines which were just hit and are at the base payout rate...I'd like to see some website that offers advice to machines further up the jackpot scale..I imagine going for the royal increases on those circumstances if you have 2, 3, 4 to a royal even if the 10 is involved
If you have a video poker training software, you can change the 5 coin payout amount to whatever you like and when you analyze the game, it will give you the strategy for that amount. I know that the higher the progressive for a royal the more aggressive you want to be chasing the royal but I am not sure at what exact point the strategy changes. You could play around with the numbers and figure it out though
Please tell me what you think should be held with three unsuited high cards with no ace. The other two cards are low and unpaired. Also, why would you hold three to a straight flush with two unsuited high cards. The odds of hitting the SF are 360 :1?
The strategy would change depending on the game you are playing. If you were playing Jacks or Better, Bonus or Double Bonus and were dealt Jc, Kd, As, 5d, 8h you would just keep the Js, Kd. If you were playing Double Double Bonus, you would keep just the As. You go for the straight flush because it pays so much money if you happen to hit it!
It's about the same as the bonus poker. Only difference is that you always want to play to the 4 aces over every other possibility except for 4 to the royal.
Did you already find the answer? If not the Wizard of Odds (homepage) has a Video Poker Analyzer where you can put in any payout and it'll give you the requested expected return of that specific game. As Linda already mentioned the "Two Pair" is a very frequent hand. Lowering it's payout will make this machine not great any more. Instead of your usual expected return of 99.5439% you'll only get 86.7072%! If possible stay away from this machine! ;)
Thanks for posting these somewhat 'tricky' hands. One point not covered is if one has two suited high cards with three to a straight flush low cards...for example, flops 4h5h6hJsQs...does one hold the 4h5h6h or JsQs? With my software, with no gaps for the 3-card sf draw, it's correct to hold the 3-card sf draw. If one or more gaps are in the 3-card sf draw, correct to hold JsQs. I find I make this error quite often when connecting for the hopes of hitting a paired J, paired Q, or the lucky royal flush.
Three to a straight flush, with no gaps, is a pretty strong starting hand. You won't complete it for a straight flush very often, but it does happen and it pays well! Plus, even if you don't get it, you might also draw to a regular flush, or a straight.
I recently started holding a pair, over going for the flush, and I'm shocked how many four of a kinds I end up with. Many times I've held the winning pair over 3 to the royal and the other 2 for the royal come up. Upsetting, to say the least.
I have two questions. If you have a low pair, and two suited high cards what is the correct strategy. Second question is if you have a ace of clubs, king and queen of hearts, and jack of spades with a 9, do you keep the ace, king, queen, and jack in hopes to draw a straight, or just the king and queen since they're suited.
@@TheJackpotGents in the second case it depends on the suit of the 9 which he doesn't mention but if the 9 is suited with the Q and K the correct hold is 9 K Q.
They are hard to find at the Las Vegas Strip casinos at low denominations. However, you may see them in $1 and up denominations in some casinos. The 9/6 games are widely available at the locals casinos in North Las Vegas and also at the casinos along Boulder Highway. There is a web site you can visit that lets you know which casinos have those machines. It is vpfree2(dot)com
There is video poker software you can use, but it's not an app that you can use on your phone. There is a law in most gaming jurisdictions that it is illegal to use an electronic device to help you beat a casino game. So, I would not suggest that you use an app to tell you how to play your cards. However, you can always print out a strategy chart and bring it with you to the casino. We have two strategy charts on our website that you can print out for free - www.americancasinoguide.com/video-poker/free-video-poker-strategy-charts.html
Is there any circumstance at all in going for a 3 card straight flush that has 2 gaps? I have Bob Dancer's Video Poker For Winners cd-rom and sometimes his program has you going for that hand, but not always.
Jacks or better and double double bonus have different strategies. But, since you have a video poker channel, I am quite sure that you already know that!
It would depend on the computer program that you are using. The program would need to randomly choose the cards as if they were being dealt from a completely shuffled 52-card deck (assuming the game did not have jokers).
If you play in a regulated jurisdiction, where the game are inspected periodically, you should not have a problem. I know a lot of people who play video poker all the time and no one has ever had a problem with the machines not acting in a random manner.
I don't have any 9/6 jacks or better machines near me at all, is 8/5 even worth playing?or should i not play video poker at all.(just to mention iv'e basically mastered 99.5% play practicing jacks or better) Reply
In TRIPLE Souble vid poker---I am dealy A heart A Spade J,q, Hearts 10 DIamonds and a 3 Sades--so I hold the 2 Aces or the 3 to a royal..bcause in Tribl double bbonus poer 4 Ace is woeth 2000 coins a royal 4000 so??
I'm surprised I know what she's talking about and for the most part I am in the green. Do you get the same odds playing at a table? I've never made the transition only because I feel that I would muck the game up for others I'm playing with.
Video poker is not the same game as regular poker played at a table, so you can't compare the two. In regular poker you are playing against other players and not against the house. Also, there is no bluffing in video poker.
If you are playing multi-hand video poker, the strategy remains the same as if you were playing a single hand. If you play multi-strike, the strategy would change depending on which level you reach.
The machine will lock when you are dealt a royal flush and it won't give you an option to play the hand. It will then either pay you in credits, or if the win is greater than $1,200, it will stay locked until an attendant gives you a hand pay.
Proposing to be a newby at this, for money. Would like to go to convenience stores rather than casinos, because of no- smoking there. I imagine the pay tables are lower in the stores. Can it still be worth my while, winning enough if not as much?
On a 9/6 Jacks or Better game with a 4,000-coin royal for five coins, the payback is 99.54%. If you reduce the royal to only 1,250 coins (250 x 5 coins = 1,250) then the payback is reduced to 98.37%.
If you are playing in a regulated gaming jurisdiction, the regulations require a random draw of the cards. All of the information in my video only applies to video poker machines that are licensed and played in a casino in a regulated gaming jurisdiction in the U.S. It does not apply to gaming machines in New York at racetrack casinos, nor to Indian casinos in the state of Washington. Those video poker machines work differently and they are not random card games. Also, there are some Indian casinos in the U.S. that have Class II machines. Those games are based on bingo and they also operate differently than the normal Class III video poker machines that you would find in a Nevada-type casino.
Thanks for the quick response. My casino gambling is limited to the Oklahoma Indian casinos. Since their slot machines are based on bingo I would guess that their video poker games are also.
It is my understanding that there are both Class II and Class II games in Oklahoma. If you see a bingo card on the screen then you are playing a Class II game. If you play video poker on that game there is no skill involved and none of the information in our video applies to that game. Instead, you are playing a game of bingo and it doesn't matter how you play your hands.
I can't find 9/6 Jacks or Better anymore...Ellis Island used to have it but it changed to 7/5 Jacks or Better early in 2019 (puke). I've seen 9/5 and some other full pay Deuces Wild and Bonus Poker at Texas Station (pre-covid19, 2020). Those are the best machines I can find in Las Vegas. Anyone else?
There are many smartphone apps that tell you how to play your hand I do not know if casinos would mind if you use them. People are on their smartphones all day long at slot machines. I don't think they can see what you're doing on your phone.
But why at 1:25 hold the 77s instead of the open-ended straight? Open ended straight you have 8 outs, or 32% equity to hit the straight by the river. 77 isn't even a paying pair so you are drawing to 2 outs for trips or quads which is only 16% equity. Even if it hits 3 of a Kind or 2 pair pays less than the straight. Please explain.
It's more than just the outs. You also have to take into account how much you get paid for a winning hand. In the long run, you will make more money by keeping the low pair.
I was at an Indian casino in New Mexico the other night playing deuces wild when I thought one of my discards was replayed. I started playing closer attention when another discard was replayed. Both times it was when I held one deuce. In addition to the crappy pay tables, this really hurts the odds of getting anymore deuces. Is this legal in Nevada?
@@phoenixtypewriter2136 Because nobody responded for such a long time, I did not respond in a timely manor. The first time a discard appeared back in a hand I was not positive if it was a heart or a diamond of the same value. I did start really paying attention and was positive that I received a card back that I had discarded. I will never go back to that casino.
I know very little about video poker, which is why I'm here, so here is my (probably dumb) question. She says if you have 10-10-J-Q-K to discard the NONPAYING PAIR of 10s in hopes of getting a PAYING PAIR from the others. My question is: In "Jacks or better", isn't ANY PAIR the "better"? Is this what I've been missing, that only 1 pair of J, Q, K or A pays off?
Normally, in Jacks or better, you would keep a pair rather than go for an unsuited open-ended straight. So, if you were dealt 2-3-4-5-5, you would keep the pair of fives. The only exception is 10-10-J-Q-K. In that case you would keep 10-J-Q-K and go for the straight.
Well, mathematically you can calculate the outcome of any 32 combinations of a dealt hand. As Linda said: "If you're unskilled you're better of playing 'Slot Machines' instead of Video Poker!"
No 9/6 in sight. I’m seeing 7/5 & weird double-digit ones like 12/10 which I know nothing about. Also, many basic JoB wanting 7 coin per hand.😮 Passed on playing. Anyone see 9/6 (full pay) in Southern Ontario? 🇨🇦
Ok, I have some questions. I play video poker. In Europe. There are only 8/5 poker machines with a progressive jackpot. This one starts at 8000€ It's about 8000$. I've seen that progressieve sometimes as high as 15.000$. You have to play max bet and that is 10$ each push on the button:) I know all about the strategy. My questions are. What should be my bankroll to overcome the ups and downs? And most importantly, how do you "professionals" play? Do you enter a casino, sit down at a video poker machine and play it until you hit that Royal? Here in Europe, casino's close at 3am and open at 2pm. So I could get a good night sleep. Or, do you play 3 to 4 hours, then go home and come back the next day or week, to play again 3, 4, 5 hours. And will you sit down at the same poker machine or another? I would like to see some answers on those questions. Thanks
There is video poker software you can buy which will analyze any game for you. If it is a progressive machine you can also calculate the payback on that machine to determine when it turns positive. You can also run a "risk of ruin" analysis to determine how large your bankroll should be in order to outlast the bankroll fluctuations. We sell that program, at a discounted price, on our web site - www.americancasinoguide(dot)com/optimum-video-poker-software-windows-version.html That program will work on both Windows and Macintosh computers. If the progressive is well into positive territory, then you would want to play the machine until the royal is hit. Over here in the U.S., there are some video poker teams that look for machines with positive progressive jackpots. When they find one, they try to take up all of the seats at the bank of machines and keep playing until the royal is hit. However, some casinos don't like this and may not allow it. In the long run, if you only play video poker progressive machines where the jackpot is high enough to bring the return over 100%, then you should be able to make money. Naturally, the more over 100%, the more likely it is that you will be a long-term winner.
there is a website called vpfree2(dot)com where you can look up any casino and it will tell you the best games. Steve and I both use that site anytime we are planning a trip anywhere to plan what games we are going to be playing
Would you care to comment on the new stickers placed on video poker machines in NYS which states, These machines are video lottery machines and skills involved with playing have NO APPLICATION.
We're all here to try and learn a better strategy to lower the edge on the casinos... Frank is right to remind us... So both of you otherfucks can go SUCK A FART.... Thanks Frank I'm gonna keep my CASH and buy WEED...oh and Dogecoin
Bad advice. The key rule is keep all wining cards, and hope for an improvement in your hand. Say you are dealt a pair, and a face card. No win there. What to keep, and why? If you keep the face there are 3 cards to win, and 4 shots to hit one. If you keep the pair you have 2 cards to hit, and 3 shots to hit one. That's an example of keeping what gets you closest to a win. Say you have almost a royal flush A K Q,J of hearts, and J spade. There's one card to win out of 47, and one shot to get it. If you keep the pair of jacks you have a win, and could improve it by getting 3 or 4 of a kind, full house or 2 pair. You have 3 shots to get that. Back to keeping a face card when that's all you got. To win you get 3 cards to shoot at, and 4 shots to get it. That's your best chance to win but you also have all the rest of the hands you could win. Stay in the winning column. Even If you have the almost a royal flush but no pair of jacks or better throw away all but 1 face. Simple arithmetic. You place your bet to get up to 10 shots at at getting one of their winning hands. Keeping any non winning cards costs you shots at getting winners.
You are totally wrong. Video poker is based on math and there is always one mathematically correct way to play any dealt hand. And, your answers are wrong in every instance. Learn more about video poker, here - www.americancasinoguidebook.com/how-to-play-video-poker.html It will give you detailed articles and videos to help you learn what you are doing wrong.
So basically you play to the possibility of a better hand, which is the strategy to begin with, with only one major component to point out, and that would be choosing to hold on a winning hand... if the possibly better hand is not worth the loss. In other words: The sacrifices are always made if the chances of the higher payout is plausible and worth going for, and the sacrifices are NOT made if the chances of a higher payout are not worth it.
There is always only one mathematically correct way to play any hand and there are software programs that can calculate the math for you. To arrive at the answer you need to calculate the probability of achieving any possible final hand you can get from the initial hand that you are dealt. Once you get each of those numbers, you need to multiply each by the amount you will receive on that particular game for that hand. Then, you add up those numbers and come up with an expected value (EV). Whichever result has the highest EV is the way you should play the hand. All of the sample hands shown in Linda's video are the mathematically correct way to play them.
There's no explanation for Hand #1 as to why to hold the two 7's, and throw away three cards to an open-ended straight. Holding the three to the straight, you have eight outs to hit it (four 3's and four 8's). To throw those three away and hold the two 7's, you'd have only two outs to hit anything (3 or 4 of a kind), or two pair or get lucky and get dealt a three of a kind to make it a Full House. I think it'd make more sense to hold the three to the straight then keep two lower cards, as you have more outs to make the straight then hit a 3 or 4 of a kind, etc. And only if it's open ended. (more outs).
When playing video poker, you need to look at more than just the outs, as you would in table poker. You also have to look at what you will be paid for the resulting hands. For every video poker hand there is always only one best way to play that hand and it is based on the EV (expected value). To discern the EV you need to analyze every possible hand, calculating the probability of getting each hand and then multiplying it by the payoff for that hand. The result will tell you the expected number of coins you should win in the long run. Whichever result gives you the highest EV is the way you should play the hand. There are video poker software programs that do this for you. For the hand shown, in 9/6 Jacks or Better, the EV for holding the two sevens is higher than the EV for keeping a four-card straight and that is why it is played that way.
Steven Bakers Breakin Boxes so basically, one should check pay table before playing? I thought they're all the same. I'm New to video poker. I wonder if it's possible for a casino to have 6/9 and 5/8 on the same floor.
F that…deviations and variance…I’m keeping the 4 to open ended straight flush v straight 100% of the time unless bankroll can’t withstand during the session. I’m giving up the 4x for either flush (17%) or straight flush for 250x at .42%. Got to have some deviations baby!
Many video poker hands are intuitive in jacks or better, but not all of them. For example, if dealt Ah, Kc, Jd, 4c, 8s. Most people would would hold all three high cards and that would not be correct, as you should only hold the king and jack. Also, if dealt a flush with a four card royal, most people would hold the flush, which is incorrect. That's why it is good to learn the proper strategies.
I would say that you would want to play the game that offers the best payback percentage. However, there are other factors, such as variance. High "variance" games are ones where there are high payoffs on rarer hands. Double Bonus and Double Double Bonus would be good examples of high variance games. On those games you will get big payoffs for four of a kinds, and even bigger payoffs for four aces. The problem is that you don't get those hands very often. That means if you get them you will do very well, if you don't get them then you will do very poorly. There will be a big variance in your playing sessions and it will be like a roller coaster ride with many highs and lows. Some people like this and some people don't. It is something you should consider when deciding what game you want to play. Jacks or better video poker is a low variance game.
Why would you think she doesn't "zit" in a casino? She goes to casinos all the time and "zits" at video poker machines! Actually, I have seen Linda in Las Vegas many times "zitting" at video poker machines. Usually, it's at Sam's Town at the full-pay deuces wild machines.
All of the information in Linda's video is mathematically correct. If you think something is wrong then you would need to state specifically what issue you think is incorrect. Otherwise, the only person espousing bullshit is you!

do you know if first card on next hand would have been the next card on previous hand had you dropped an extra card
The cards are continuously shuffled until the deal/draw button is pushed. So, it is extremely unlikely the cards would have been the same.
Thank you!
When I went to Las Vegas this year, I spent a while looking through casinos for a 9,6 Jacks or Better machine and did not find a single one!
Red rock casino in Vegas has a 99.8% payback 9/6.
I'm not 100% sure about Vegas, but in my area, you can sometimes find 9,6 on the $1 denomination of the same machine that shows 8,5 25 and 50 cents
Wonder if 9/6 is a good video poker game and is the strategy the same with that version. They have this at my casino high limit room.
Yes and Yes
She is great. I played her game and came back 2-3 more time Great
Is there an app that shows you which cards to keep in video poker? If so, is it legal or frowned upon to use?
There is video poker software you can use, but it's not an app that you can use on your phone. There is a law in most gaming jurisdictions that it is illegal to use an electronic device to help you beat a casino game. So, I would not suggest that you use an app to tell you how to play your cards. However, you can always print out a strategy chart and bring it with you to the casino. We have two strategy charts on our website that you can print out for free - www.americancasinoguide.com/video-poker/free-video-poker-strategy-charts.html
Is there any circumstance at all in going for a 3 card straight flush that has 2 gaps?
I have Bob Dancer's Video Poker For Winners cd-rom and sometimes his program has
you going for that hand, but not always.
That draw is last on the strategy chart before getting five new cards. It would be better to hold a single high card, if you have one in your hand.
Does this also apply to double double bonus?
Jacks or better and double double bonus have different strategies. But, since you have a video poker channel, I am quite sure that you already know that!
@@TheJackpotGents actually I dont. Your title says video poker hands, not jacks or better hands. Im a novice player and still trying to learn the game
You can find a lot of good information about video poker, here - www.americancasinoguidebook.com/how-to-play-video-poker.html
Are the 9/6 jacks or better machines the same as playing one for practice on the computer?
It would depend on the computer program that you are using. The program would need to randomly choose the cards as if they were being dealt from a completely shuffled 52-card deck (assuming the game did not have jokers).
im just making sure the odds are the same because of the rumors people have about the casinos rigging the machines
If you play in a regulated jurisdiction, where the game are inspected periodically, you should not have a problem. I know a lot of people who play video poker all the time and no one has ever had a problem with the machines not acting in a random manner.
thanks for the answer!
I don't have any 9/6 jacks or better machines near me at all, is 8/5 even worth playing?or should i not play video poker at all.(just to mention iv'e basically mastered 99.5% play practicing jacks or better)
Reply
about straight flush gaps, linda mentions that 1-2 gaps is worse to go for what about missing gaps?
example: 4.h,6.h,9.h
8.h,10.h,Queen.h?
I believe those missing gaps you refer to would qualify as two gaps. Or, a double-inside straight flush.
This video was made 6 years ago
Is this play still relevant
Considering all the various machines now.
What is the best hourly rate for a 9/6 JOB machine? With comps.
The straight gaps make sense. 456 you can with w 23, 37, or 78. 457 you can only win w 63 or 68. 458 you only have 1 possible win w 67.
Does strategy differ if you're playing more than one hand?
If you are playing multi-hand video poker, the strategy remains the same as if you were playing a single hand. If you play multi-strike, the strategy would change depending on which level you reach.
Ok thanks
What about 5 to the royal flush.
I threw away an ace of spades just to get it again for a royal. I couldn’t throw it away.
Now , will be back after a word from our sponsor, Las Vegas casinos association...!!
What is the house edge if you bet the 1x (Where royal flush pays 250) instead of 5x (where royal flush pays 4000)
On a 9/6 Jacks or Better game with a 4,000-coin royal for five coins, the payback is 99.54%. If you reduce the royal to only 1,250 coins (250 x 5 coins = 1,250) then the payback is reduced to 98.37%.
Lol! You got all that? Sure im going to remember all those different combinations when I sit down at the casino this weekend.
toby miller I think you meant to say thank you dick head
You rock.
no YOU rock Jeff
Will this not work for 7/5 video poker jacks or better.
Maurice Patterson it would by why would you play a lower paying machine?
Thomas thetankengine Its the only one I seen available. Casinos are greedy
Are casino video poker games truly random draw or are they programmed to deal or not deal winning hands?
Thanks again. Next time I go I'll check to see if they have machines without the bingo card. Appreciate the info.
This was exactly my question!
I was friends with a slot tech who always told me to keep aces and throw the rest away
What boit double double poker
I can't find 9/6 Jacks or Better anymore...Ellis Island used to have it but it changed to 7/5 Jacks or Better early in 2019 (puke). I've seen 9/5 and some other full pay Deuces Wild and Bonus Poker at Texas Station (pre-covid19, 2020). Those are the best machines I can find in Las Vegas. Anyone else?
You can find a list of the casinos that have 9/6 jacks or better on this website: www.vpfree2.com
@@TheJackpotGents Yeah I put it in the analyzer. Correct play is holding the 77s. Thanks!
You get that on film & you'll have something !
alot of indian casinos use vlts instead of true 52 card video poker
@@phoenixtypewriter2136 Because nobody responded for such a long time, I did not respond in a timely manor. The first time a discard appeared back in a hand I was not positive if it was a heart or a diamond of the same value. I did start really paying attention and was positive that I received a card back that I had discarded. I will never go back to that casino.
I hope this lady is doing well
She actually passed away last year.
Always play the royal flush! You’re gambling not investing I. The stock market!
Well, mathematically you can calculate the outcome of any 32 combinations of a dealt hand. As Linda said: "If you're unskilled you're better of playing 'Slot Machines' instead of Video Poker!"
what is a paying pair?
Jack's or better
No 9/6 in sight. I’m seeing 7/5 & weird double-digit ones like 12/10 which I know nothing about. Also, many basic JoB wanting 7 coin per hand.😮 Passed on playing. Anyone see 9/6 (full pay) in Southern Ontario? 🇨🇦
Ok, I have some questions. I play video poker. In Europe. There are only 8/5 poker machines with a progressive jackpot. This one starts at 8000€ It's about 8000$. I've seen that progressieve sometimes as high as 15.000$. You have to play max bet and that is 10$ each push on the button:)
I know all about the strategy.
I ll never remember all this... 😔
Sure you can. It just takes practice. There are apps for phones and tablets that will let you practice. Some are paid but some are free!
Look for video poker trainer on apple store or google play store! Good luck!
Write it down
Just look it up on your phone as you’re playing
lol I always go for the royal
Now tell us where you can find a 9/6 JacksOr Better machine.
there is a website called vpfree2(dot)com where you can look up any casino and it will tell you the best games. Steve and I both use that site anytime we are planning a trip anywhere to plan what games we are going to be playing
Would you care to comment on the new stickers placed on video poker machines in NYS which states, These machines are video lottery machines and skills involved with playing have NO APPLICATION.

For the hand shown, in 9/6 Jacks or Better, the EV for holding the two sevens is higher than the EV for keeping a four-card straight and that is why it is played that way.
americancasinoguide Interesting, and informative. Thanks for the feedback!
9/6 Jacks or better. I know what Jacks or better means in 5 card poker, but 9/6? Confused in Florida. Probably something simple, I just don't see it 😱
Steven Bakers Breakin Boxes so basically, one should check pay table before playing? I thought they're all the same. I'm New to video poker. I wonder if it's possible for a casino to have 6/9 and 5/8 on the same floor.
I guess you take a paid pair over 4 to a flush
If I have an outside straight flush, Im going for it no matter what
F that…deviations and variance…I’m keeping the 4 to open ended straight flush v straight 100% of the time unless bankroll can’t withstand during the session. I’m giving up the 4x for either flush (17%) or straight flush for 250x at .42%. Got to have some deviations baby!
I already did all of these on my own.. common sense all this is
Many video poker hands are intuitive in jacks or better, but not all of them.
@@TheJackpotGents Why would you only hold king & jack & not also the ace!?!
Show me a video poker machine that still pays 9/6 WITH 10 credits paid for two-pair. They don't exist.
They can easily be found at higher denominations. Usually, $1 and up.

I stand corrected, found some at Red Rocks. Great video, thanks!
who plays job?
It's the most widely available game, plus it's the best game for beginning players.
its got a low variance too. but i never see ppl playing it.
The tips are also valid for bonus poker.
What is the best game to play??
I dont th k this could be any more boring. I really want to know this stuff but granny is killing me here. Change the format up
I'm a professional poker player... get up and stop wasting your money .
are you saying with video poker you cant earn living
WTF is 8-5 Jacks or better? NO CLUE!!!!!!!!!
has to do with the pay table. 8-5 Jacks or better pays 8 on a full house and 5 on a flush in the 1 credit pay table.

She is talking bull shit. There is no rules . Everything can happpen.
All of the information in Linda's video is mathematically correct. If you think something is wrong then you would need to state specifically what issue you think is incorrect. Otherwise, the only person espousing bullshit is you!
