The 50,000 hour claim is based on setting 6, which is a little dim for daylight use. I contacted Aimpoint and they said it should be over a year on setting 7, which is bright enough for daylight or weapon light use. They said the electronics are essentially identical to the Aimpoint T-2
Great review with real world applications. Thanks
EXCELLENT content and PERFECT presentation. Factual, real world, well informed/researched, content presented in a "just the facts ma'am" format. I really appreciate the time you put into these videos. You had info on the P2 I have not found in any other of the countless videos I have watched. In fact, enough information that I feel better about NOT buying the P2. Thanks again for the hard work!
Like the Volvo 😂😂 solid punch line 🤙🏻
THANK YOU for touching on the concealment difficulty! For some body types it may not matter, but it does for me. As much as I'd love to carry nothing but enclosed emitter optics, that dead space on open emitter optics is crucial to concealment AIWB and the right rear corner of the ACRO is what prints the most on me.
Very thorough review! Thanks.
I’m aiwb only so for me the 507C/508T/SRO are my go to choices. I started out with the RMR but have moved away from it a little bit purely because of window size and battery access. I have a 509T and like it well enough but I don’t require closed emitter for my lifestyle. Shirt and hoodie ordered 🤘🏼
Thank you for the info.
Gwinnett County PD is running these now.
Such a good breakdown. Thank you and greetings from a german gun-channel
Thank you for watching! Ausgezeichnet!
I have the Aimpoint P-2 on my Staccato C2 Duo with a Threat Cadre Comp & it runs great with all grains of Ammo…with the factory C2 spring.
The Aimpoint P-2 won’t work with the old Dawson precision Acro P1 plate. I let them know & Dawson has now since updated their newest plate to fit both the ACRO P1 & P2. Carry On
Good job 👍🏽!
My p2 does fit on my p1 plate. It is my understanding that the p2’s had a bad batch of locking bars. My Acro is in the 516 ssn number range.
I've been running an rmr for over a year now. As a farmer the amount of dust that gets caught on the glass ruined the lense within a year. I just recently got it back from trijicon. I've been really thinking about going closed because it would be easier to wipe off the dust than have to dig in there scratching the lense.
Farmer here to. The 509t is a solid option!
Closed emitter seems like a no brainer if your using it in anything other than a pristine flat range environment.
@@jaredandrews379 i was really considering the 509 but holosun can't replace their glass if scratched or service them. American companies can. On the off chance i do scratch it i want the option to get it fixed. I ruined the glass on a 507 and i called they won't warranty it they won't do anything "we don't have the capability to replace the glass in them." Therefore in my eyes, it's just more throw away Chinese crap when something happens to it. I'm tired of throwing away my money. I used that 507 for a month before I scratched the hell out of it. (My fault) but now it's a paper weight with junk glass. I said I'll never buy another holosun optic. I'm not saying it's their fault or feel their obligated to fix it, but why would i buy from a company that can't replace the glass or warranty it when i can spend a little more and buy American from a company that can. It cost me $122.13 to get new glass in my rmr. That's a lot cheaper than a new 507 every year. We're in a lot of dust and dirt as you know. From shoveling out a grain bin to dragging yourself through the dirt to get under equipment. It took a full year for me to scratch the trijicon to where i wanted it replaced. I bought one of those vortex lenses pens. That's the only thing I'm using to clean it this time. hopefully that will extend the life for me. I had my 19 milled so if have to have it milled again to the mos footprint i guess
@@alexduke5402 I'd prolly just keep some micro fiber towels everywhere and the air duster and try to blow the dirt out before you wipe it out.
Can you review the Steiner mps?
I’ve been running the Steiner MPS on my XC for about a month now. I’ve got almost 1k rounds of 115 grain Winchester white box through that setup without issue. The Steiner is slightly heavier than the Acro P2. I plan on running this setup in a class with 124 grain lawman in September. I’ll be interested to see if I there are any issues
9lb variable on an XC with 115 runs flawlessly.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing. Question can I turn this optic off when in my safe not being used or is it a always on system?
No reason you couldn’t.
If the 'glass' is so dust and fogging can be an issue, are there companies making foils or coatings besides cat crap and those transparent caps mostly for rifle optics. Do they help or cause problems with the dot or visibility?
I would not be putting cat crap on a CC pistol optic. It goes under your shirt and clothing. Adding an anti-fog coating is only going to harbor lint/dust/ and any other sort of debris from EDC/CCW.
You don’t mind the bluish tint at the top of the optic? It’s very visible on mine.
Do you think it will be suitable with rimfire like Voltquartsen Black Mamba pistol?
Hearing you talk about aimpoint being twice as heavy as the open sights.
Are the x series serrations a good idea?
Also is DLC on barrels worth it?
Which gun re: the X series and DLC barrels?
@@108Performance I was looking at getting X series cuts on a Stacatto P Duo through the hero program. DLC _seems_ like a good choice no matter what, but you are the SME.
Great video, what model is your holster at 12:37?
Safariland 6390RDS for G17
Would you happen to have a link to the iron sights you use? Thanks

Optic height front/rear from above link.
In one of your videos you were wearing a tan vest. Would you tell me who makes it & where it might be obtained?
Try 5.11 Tactical.
@@108Performance I’ll do that. Thanks for sharing your your knowledge from so many years.
I have had one Acro P2 front interior glass break. Received a replacement after shooting a few rounds Now it has dust in a piece of black plastic floating around inside. Don’t plan on selling it back until it goes completely down with the shortage of P2 out and about…
Taking into consideration and following your motto of "Only Performance Counts" my response is what's the point compared to other proven & reliable alternatives? Not much is what I am getting.
Not an unfair assessment. If you have a setup which works for you, the need to switch isn't quite there.
What Cain of Magwell? Name
can the acro be mounted to a zev g19 rmr slide?
The extra >1oz of weight over the RMR is negligible when compared to the rest of the reciprocating mass. My Glock 19 Gen5 MOS slide weighs ~12.5oz without the barrel or recoil spring. It weighs about 13.7oz with the RMR, and about 14.5 oz with the ACRO P-2. I highly doubt you're going to notice any difference.
Comparing it to the the 509t there's even less difference. The 509t is quoted at 1.72oz, which is just 0.38oz lighter. The difference is negligible.
Plate ?
I want to live in a timeline where the USPS postal inspectors adopt this optic solely on the basis that it resembles a mailbox.
🤣😂🤣
