I just got a Staccato P and had a hell of a time getting it back together because the Tooless guide rod did NOT want to stay seated against the barrel. There just isn't enough for it to butt up against near the barrel link, it just keeps popping free. Even if I tried holding it upside down, no joy. Once the gun is assembled, the recoil spring is not "coming undone" it is merely pushing on the link. You need to move the slide back and forth to get alignment of the link with the frame hole. You can place a pin punch inside to help capture the progress as you move the slide/bbl back and forth.

Mine is the same way, loosened up a little after a few hundred rounds and a little more after a bunch of dry fire. I have a feeling the shorter slide (which means shorter spring) is going to make it stiffer as well.
