Thank you for sharing these thoughts all together like this.
I’ve noticed an emphasis on praying aloud in my Gospel study this past year, and it’s amazing how different prayer can be when it’s aloud. For one thing, I FEEL HEARD more. And that increases my faith. It really does!

This is all so true. And I just had a super sacred experience in the temple this week after a major miracle we received. I’m so thankful for a merciful, loving God and Savior. Thanks for your videos. Merry Christmas! ❤️🌟🙏🏻🎄

An insight I heard about this parable recently: the virgins that did not have enough oil went out to buy oil. So they had the means to have enough oil, but they held back, not wanting to spend all they had. Then when they had to go buy more, they were too late. Never wait to prepare, or think that you can change later...

I don’t think I’ve ever thought about Christ knowing our voice through our prayers. This is such a great insight! I appreciate you sharing it with us.

I think another way we know Him and He knows us is through daily repentance.

I really loved this video!! I love to watch your spiritual thoughts they are so uplifting! I am careful about those that I watch on UA-cam because I know that Satan uses this platform to lead people astray. I feel your spirit and love what you do to help lead our brothers and sisters (back) to our Savior. I feel like we have much in common. I, too, am a nurse who has stopped working, although I am a grandma, so I am older than you. I am striving to be the best disciple of Jesus that I can be. I just want you to know that you are loved and appreciated. Please don't allow Satan to get you down via nasty comments and trolls.

Very interesting concept that the Lord will know our voice because of our prayers. I wholeheartedly agree! And may I add, we can know His voice through our prayers!! In this way, we can have a relationship with the Father and the Son through our prayers! And the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost as we keep our covenants and PRAY for forgiveness when we stray. Excellent video!!!!!!! 😊👍

Wow! The Lord recognizes our voice. That is something I have never thought about. I often pray in the car. Probably less now that I don’t have teenagers 😅 I think I will step up my prayers. ❤ merry Christmas 🎄

I have set up a playlist in my sacred hymns app. I have the music from the hymn book and then the tabernacle choir singing that song as well. My first one is Come Ye Children of the Lord. Listen to the one from the hymnal first, then listen to the recording of the Tabernacle Choir's April 2024 new arrangement. It was this arrangement when I realized I could hear Angels singing. This wasn't the only song during this weekend's conference where I heard Angels singing with the choir. The tempo in this arrangement is faster, the orchestra and vocals are incredible. I have the playlist set as Practice Week. Hymns are a prayer unto Christ. This is another way He can hear us. I am not the best with my prayers, I am trying real hard. I do a whole day prayer where I open my prayer in the morning and then close it at the end of the day. I have only been doing this since the week before this is posted. It is making a difference in what happens to me during the day. Thank you for your channel. You are amazing! (love the write on board you showed at the end that is so cool!) xoxo Love from South Carolina

Ahh I love this!! I totally agree - the most important qualifier for the ten virgins was the Bridegroom knowing them (have you seen the Stick of Joseph video with Andrea Woodmancy talking about this? Also so good), rather than just having sufficient oil or being on time! Of course I think those go hand in hand though - the way we come to know Him (and help Him know us) is by doing the same things that help us acquire oil (spiritual preparation/testimony). Prayer is a huge one!!! I love what you said about Him recognizing our voice. So the oil stores are almost more of a result of our efforts to know Him (i.e. we are spiritually prepared because of our efforts to know Him), rather than the other way around. Because there are people who go through the motions to acquire oil without truly coming to know their Savior personally. (Or worse, there are some who go through the motions with the intent to tear down the church or prove it wrong.) But when our goal is to come to know Him, we naturally want to do those things continuously and in sincerity, and the oil accumulates. Can't wait for your next video to hear the rest of your thoughts 🥰

I hadn't thought of that concept (pertaining to the virgins) of Christ being familiar with our voice. It sounds like the foolish treated Christ as more of an acquaintance rather than a true friend.

The center is a relationship of trust. Bruce Porter and Greg Madsen spoke of symbols within the egyptian ruins of an embrace that denotes a very special relationship and contract. With the same importance as the oath given between Laban's servant and Nephi, when Nephi discloses himself and the servant is trying to flee for his own life. An oath is uttered and he stops trying to escape with his life, knowing that an oath is a man's word and that he won't violate it.
Without that time and effort invested in developing that relationship, we don't have anything.

I've been thinking, how will life work during the millennium? Will we have homes, stores? Commerce, have to work? Maybe we would live the law of consecration???

We covenant to live the law of consecration now.
I think you are talking about an application of the Law of consecration called the United Order.
It would make sense though, because we will probably know very clearly then that everything belongs to God. So we won’t be so “this is mine, that is yours..” because it might be easier to recognize that it’s all God’s and He gives us so much!

Thank you for this video and conversation.☀️
I’ve often wondered if there’s any application in this parable on the question of how we respond when we think it’s too late.
Of course I understand that in God’s wisdom, justice and mercy, there is an amount of time given to each of us, and then that time is up. And we need to be aware of that, and diligent in our preparation.
Sometimes though, we-I-think it’s too late, and run away/withdraw instead of welcoming Him like I had anticipated.
I hope we have the faith to stay the course and not run away when the signs of His coming are even more obvious.
