I’ve had this keyboard from the kickstarter campaign for close to 15 months now. I absolutely love it. I, too, rock the brown switches. At times, my office colleagues asked me why I was attacking my keyboard because of the sounds it makes lol. Now that we all work from home, I would go for the blue switches. I think it is one of the best buy I made in recent years and would definitely recommend this keyboard.
@@Scofaa oh yeah, I am still rocking it every day on my work laptop. The only issue I’ve had so far lately is that it seems to lose the bluetooth connection from time to time, all I have to do is to flick the on/off button to reconnect it. But my laptop has also had the bluetooth driver quit a few times so that might be more of a computer issue rather than a keyboard one.

I recently got a Keychron V2 and I am absolutely in love with it! So worth the money! I had been wanting to find a good mechanical keyboard that I could pair with my Mac and for it to have the right Mac buttons and not be all switched around. I'm so glad I did and the RGB is definitely a nice bonus that I appreciate. Thanks for this thorough review!
I use both Mac and windows and it gets annoying having the switch between the key locations when using a windows keyboard. I use a Ducky mechanical keyboard and just swapped the alt with the windows key so it matches with Macs normal key positions.
@@sgm11 You can use Karabiner on the macOS (free utility, very reliable and useful) to have a standard PC keyboard act as a PC keyboard when connected to a Mac. I use it this way, to map everything so I can use a PC keyboard with PC mappings on my Mac. I constantly switch between a Mac and a Linux machine, and I want both to have their keyboards mapped exactly the same way. So the mechanical keyboard connected to my Mac is mapped like a Linux keyboard (Alt close to the space bar, Ctrl in the corners and so on) and it's not a problem anymore switching between these machines. I actually do more than remap keys with Karabiner, I even remap the shortcuts to act as standard PC or Linux ones (Ctrl-End goes to the end of the document, and so on).
Keep in mind that the Keychron warehouse is in Hong Kong. It ships from there, and if you don't like the product, you're responsible for returning it to there. Which means, effectively, there are no returns. Keychron doesn't offer a return label, so you can pony out more money than you spent on the actual keyboard, trying to return it.
KEYCHRON K2 :Just dropping by to contribute my review after seeing so many reviews on youtube and i finally got one. I am a newbie in mech keyboards. So this is my first one after going through so many videos and finally deciding on this one. PERFECT. I really like this keyboard, typing on it right now. It charges well, connects well and just wonderful to type on. I use it for programming and normal tasks,no gaming. So for people like me, it is perfect! Previously I was all out Logitech and I though they were the best, I know now. This is better! But it is heavy. I got the aluminium base. So i dont think it is suitable to take outside.

I made the mistake of buying a Keychron K7. What I received was NOT wireless (no dongle included) and, when connected by USB cable, many keys did not work. Keychron ignored all my requests for an RMA and a refund. Before buying anything from Keychron, think! Do you want to give your money to a company that treats its customers this way?

hey bro does the k2 v2 need a palm rest like u mentioned. I have v1 atm and thinking to upgrade to v2 but do i also need to buy the additional palm rest as well?
Only other thing I wish for is that they would have added an option to set custom colors for each key. For example customizing for a game etc. But ohh well I suppose you can't wish for everything on an already perfect keyboard...
I just got myself the K8 to upgrade my laptop, as the K2 is sold-out and there aren't any hot-swap capabilities available. I feel better about getting the brown switches now with the sound test you provided! :D (And I'll definitely get the K2 v2 once it's back in stock hehe)
I bought the K2 V2 a few months back as my first mechanical keyboard. I like it, though I admit I do not use it often as I was convinced to get one of those cheap wired keyboards for my work laptop. The K2 V2 would only be for gaming or streaming, which I don't often do nowadays. But after the cheap one had key problems after a couple of months, I fell in love again with the K2 V2 as I worked. This convinced me to switch to a mechanical keyboard for work moving forward. But I chose another, cheaper model so that I don't damage the K2 V2 because my typing gets really intense during stressful work situations. XD Keep up the great work!
A mechanical keyboard that is wireless for Mac OS X. I like that concept a lot. Now to look up the price and hopefully I don't fall off my chair. Thank you Jeff. ;)

Change the 'Caps Lock' pull down to 'No Action' & click 'OK'. Changing it back is just as easy. Cool videos, Thanks!

Oofs, Gat brown is not really tactile, the bump is so tiny that it feels like a linear. Gotta give props for being so affordable though. Very good entry in to mech keyboard. Also, make sure you show the proper config for Windows keys so your viewers get proper context as to how the Windows/Mac switching capabilities work. Just some constructive criticism.
I've got K6 with the same switches and it's great, I love it :) I don't have a version with aluminum rails but it's still very sturdy. Although it's surprisingly light for a mechanical keyboard. The biggest downside for me is the selection of keys on the very right, especially the "backlight switch" button. I hit that by accident on many occasions which means I have to cycle thru all backlight options to get back to the one I prefer. Knowing that I'd have gone for the white backlight version instead.
