I absolutely love this video, the style and writing is on POINT. You might want to add some stuff to your channels home page. When it’s blank people will have the impression that you don’t have any content on your channel. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing you grow!
Let’s go Jared!!! This was great😂 this rivals NakeyJakey in terms of quality and entertainment. Also hearing the wario world song at 0:23 gave me so much nostalgia. Glad I found this in my subscriptions because of forgot both you having a channel and me being a subscriber of it. You’re a great editor and natural behind a camera, best of luck man!
Bro said no buck bumble I literally thought I was the only one 😅 but please, please, please continue to make content like this. Really good video and can't you use mcboot for pal to ntsc on ps2
Thank you algorithm for sending me here! I think it picked up on how much I’ve complained about Panzer Dragoon Saga’s PAL version being obscene. Commiserations on Forbidden Siren though, friend. Have my subscribe. 🖤
Forbidden Siren 2 is a game that won't work if it isn't being displayed at 50hz. What I do is just put the game in the harddrive and play it through OPL, but as far being able to get it to work you just need to hook up your PS2 to a TV capable of 50hz.
Great video, saw this in my suggestions. I prefer the ODE route myself and installed GDEMU in my Dreamcast because I don’t like working with discs but it’s all really fun getting these old consoles in their best shape again.
you got me curious if I could get forbidden siren 2 working, I recently played the first game and am wanting to play the sequel at some point. for me it was really easy to load up to my MC2SIO which only cost $20 and a 128GB SD card allowed me to play it just fine, as long as you're able to play in 50hz
I was in the DC Scene back then and I ripped D2 a long time ago and I had/still have the Sony DD Drive. Unfortunately the game would never boot off a DD CD-R. The GD-Rom would never recognize the disc. I gave away the images for other people to work on. I doubt my original rips were used since the game was re-dumped many times over. Just get yourself a GDEMU.
If you really want to play those rare games and don't want to pay the ridiculous prices then just try emulation, nowadays it has been pretty much perfected, especially if you stick to native resolution and software modes (basically the experience you would get in a console). Any cheap PC or gaming laptop will do. Now with FPGAs there's even emulation through hardware too, personally I emulate everything these days as I like preserving my consoles as pristine as possible and display them behind glass, but that's just me.
@@crazedlunatic43 True but for older systems like the PS1, SNES, NES etc it's pretty much perfect, also some people take accuracy too seriously, if you can play a game without any glitches or bugs then that makes it perfect in my book, 95% of the time if you stick to the more accurate options on the most accurate emulators you won't have a problem playing the most popular games from start to finish even for the N64/GC/Wii/PS2/PS3, although some consoles still have ways to go like the Xbox360/ogXBOX/DC/Switch etc.
Just letting you know you absolutely can play PS1 “backups” on the fat model with the Popstarter emulator route! Which means you can load converted ps1 rom files onto an external usb hard drive and play *most* of them pretty decently
Using a clone GDEmu really helped a lot with being able to use my Dreamcast more often! They’re getting more and more affordable, I’d recommend making a video on one of those because then you could go over the different versions of the clones (because that’s confusing lol).
Console modding is great and about Dreamcast is sad that nobody told you about GDemu that is the equivalent of Saturn Fenrir, but for Dreamcast (an ODE) which it's compatibility is pretty good, and you can perfectly play D2 with it (just read in a guide the exact point where you have to change discs, cause that game doesn't have any save point during the change disc's screen) Other option is the Dreamshell that turns the Dreamcast in a multimedia system, and also allows it play backup from games, or the MODE that is other ODE that works on Dreamcast, PS1 and Saturn, where you can play games on an SD card or an SSD drive (but this one is very expensive) anyway I think that in the case of rereleases is always important to support the devs, but when we talk about abandonware is nice to mod your retroconsole to enjoy it.
Hey, I was able to get Forbidden Siren 2 working on my slim ps2 running from a usb drive using another program called Ps2 ESDL. It's not a very common one compared to OPL but can be a good alternative. ESDL has a few more steps involved including defragging the drive once the files have been copied to it. The main issue it had when playing the game was the cutscenes would freeze every few seconds before starting a mission as it seemed to be loading the mission in the background. Only one of these cutscenes I had to fully skip as it froze but otherwise I was able to play the whole game using ESDL. I did play this on a PAL system so would be interested to know if this same method will work on a ntsc ps2. If you need anymore info or the file's for ESDL let me know.
Ps2 was the first console I wanted to mod also when I started this journey late 2022. Now I've modded a lot of different consoles and handhelds. It's fkn great to have all these games without having to pay ridiculous money and to play them on real hardware which is better than emulation especially on certain consoles like the n64 with it's funky controller. Got a Saturn with a saroo flash cart for micro SD cards on its way now ;)
Really surprised to see such a good video like this out of a small channel. I just finished shooting green screen footage and throwing into my timeline to make this exact same kind of video. But I think you did a better job than I did with my script being more comedy centric. My only advice would be to talk more about ODE's as the market is expanding. Also never shy away from encouraging people to steal from nintendo. It is always morally okay to steal from nintendo.
For me, the GameCube is was easier to mod than PS2. It wasn’t cheap but GCloader and a carby most games of that generation run and look great. Plus there are even cheaper ways to load games.
I get flack for saying it but I mean it. The PS2 modding scene is an awful experience. I'd rather put up with the 360. At least the 360 can play every game you copy to the HDD even if its a pain in the ass to get started.
I don't know why it's an unpopular opinion, I agree. The HDMI adapter is the worst one out of the 6th gen systems, OPL is a bug ridden mess even with a genuine network adapter, the way you install games is archaic and slow, some games are just busted no matter what settings you use for reasons not even the devs can explain, PS1 emulation is busted, etc. Basically, I have an original Xbox for PS2 multiplats and CFW PS3 for PS2 exclusives just to avoid the PS2 scene altogether and of course make use of their perks as well like Xbox exclusives, full PS1 emulation and full PS3 playability. Thankfully most PS2 exclusives work near flawlessly on PS3 like Xenosaga, The Getaway, Jak X, Haunting Ground, etc. Maybe one day when Neutrino gets a UI and becomes more advanced, the PS2 scene might be worthwhile but until then, there are better alternatives at the moment.
Or you could save yourself a lot of troubles with the Dreamcast and just yank the GD-ROM drive out and put a GDEmu in there instead and run games in the GDI format.
about playing ps1 games on ps2, you can actually do so on a fat ps2 through the usb port, there's a great video on blaine locklair's channel who does a bunch of super understandable guides, the method even lets you play through Open Ps2 Loader (aka OPL) with some config

I used to use Swap Magic to play backup PS2 games, it used a slide tool to swap a boot disc for the backup on a PS2 Fat.
I still have them.

No Mechapwn? Really? Get yourself a 50k fat PS2 (or stick with the slim) and take the straws out of your console

Emulation isn't the same thing.
Emulation will never be perfect, especially when attempting to emulate more powerful and complicated hardware.

Having a PS2 modchip installed might boot that Siren 2 game. FreeDVDboot might work with it as well.

someone plz recompile Perfect Dark with a multiplayer feature yesterday....

Illbleed is damn good, but you have to really commit yourself to it. It has a bit of a learning curve.
