If you were sitting next to a ten year old who spent the whole series practically bouncing out of his seat with excitement, this series was the best thing since the Disney deal.

I absolutely loved this series, I probably rewatched the episodes more times than any other series so far. Fun and touching.
The creators said in an interview that they do have season 2 planned, kids being older obviously, so I definitely hope for season 2.

I think it’s nice that star wars has something everyone now. Even a show like this, whose main characters are children, is still so relatable and intriguing. Hope they do more with these characters!

Wow low bar. Hardly perfect. 1) AI of that scale would have back up on top of back up so that it could not be destroyed at a single point. 2) An unregistered pirate ship docks and the first thing they do is open their vault without any credential or identification? 3) the droid gets his head cut off and completely powers down, but then later if a kid is simply holding the head nearby the droid can function and walk about? 4) the entire planetary shield can be shut down by pulling a manual switch with no code, no credential, nothing. 5) the pirates did not need to invade and start shooting everything. No one on the surface had a clue what was going on. The pirates could have walked in, quietly and taken whatever they want. They could have ruled the planet for generations without anyone ever knowing and without ever firing a shot. On and on and on. This show barely smells better than the other crap Disney pumps out, the bar is so low that people think this is a great show. It is a fine show for it is, but to think this is brilliant or deserves another season, I strongly disagree.

@@derekl2882 Every point you make is valid, but if you are watching a show just to criticise every unrealistic scenario, then I question why you bother watching them at all?
I just watch and enjoy, and I don't over analise things!

I will admit that considering this series revolved around Pirates, I was hoping for a Hondo cameo. But now that I have finished this series, I’m glad they kept it self contained. I don’t know where this will go, be it a Season 2 or having these characters appear in another show but I’m looking forward to more.

Well I've loved the whole series, is it better than any other content, I would say no, but it's on a par with The Bad Batch and Ahsoka as well as Andor.

I love this show so much! I felt it was well done. Sure I would have liked more things expanded upon, but that was because I just wanted more. Not cameos, per se, but more time with the kids, more time with Neel and the big gun, more time with KB struggling to contact Kh’ymm, maybe waking up SM-33, more time with Jod’s backstory. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it. Is it just me, but was KB’s crash a turning point for Jod? I think he had true regret in his face. He said he didn’t want to hurt anyone, keep At Attin in its perfect state, making money, for him of course. I think it was at that point, that he realized he had been taking things too far. He could have killed Wendell or any one of them at any time but didn’t. He for some reason showed restraint, and finally gave up. So to your point, yes, he is bad, but maybe not all bad. He’s conflicted. He had so many conflicting emotions on his face as he watched the pirate ship slowly crash. It was regret, then… something else, like another idea for a scheme? I want to know what he was thinking. He is the ultimate survivor so I hope we see him again, as well as the other kids. And why did Wim call out to Jod and the end? It was almost like he was about to say “come with us,” but didn’t. Like he had to catch himself. What was that all about? I am sure that will be up for lots of discussion.

Just watched episode 8. Other than Rogue One and Andor, Skeleton Crew is the first D+ SW show that actually felt like the Star Wars from the 70s and 80s. Yes it was corny, goofy and made for kids but I loved it. Everything D+ has made for SW has been complete trash but this was fun. Truly a homage to the great classics like Goonies and Treasure Planet. I hope they don't do a season 2, there is no need for it. This was a complete and satisfying story.

I enjoyed the show very much. The only thing I couldn’t understand, why Wim hated his father this much? Kid was rather be imprisoned by pirates in a galaxy far far away, than be with his dad. Even when they got back home, he couldn’t wait to get away from him, and wasn’t that excited to see him. Why is that?

Wendell was a bad parent he wouldn’t tell him a story at least one time, he leaves all the time ( assumed but he did leave in the first ep )

I honestly feel like your interpretation of Whim hating his father is wrong (or misplaced, for softer language), I think it's more like he hated his (mundane) life more than anything else. He's going on this grand adventure, with ups and downs, and at the end of the day he has to go home and take some test (that dictates the whole course of his life) that he doesn't care about.
Earlier in the series he was talking about how he missed his father with Jod, and when Jod suggests forgetting him (in any capacity) Whim says he can't do that. When all the kids get an opportunity to embrace their parents after separation, Whim and his father's is arguably framed to be the most heartfelt.

A kids show that only adults are watching unless those same adults are forcing their kids to watch it with them. It was ok in every way but hardly something to bring Star Wars back in the good graces of the fandom.

"Star Wars: Skeleton Crew": On to Season 2! KK had a winner here, but dumped "The Ack-ack-ack-oleet" out first. This production shows what the Disney TV crew can do that the LucasFilm idiots can't. If this is all there is, "one and done" is OK, too.

While I understand some of your frustration, i think the simplicity of it is why it has charm. It allows us to connect more with the characters and their stories rather than worrying about the scientific technical elements (such as the switch etc.) again, i see those frustrations though!

Unpopular opinion: I was unimpressed. This show felt like The Acolyte without the woke inserts. It suffered from the same forced tension and unexplored characters that Acolyte did. Sure the kids stole the show but it was too much of a Goonies/Treasure Island/ET ripoff for my taste. It was never really explained why these planets were isolated, or how the others were destroyed. Much like The Acolyte, I feel like the backstory would have been more interesting. How did OG pirate dude obtain a light saber? What was the point of giving Jod another name halfway through the series? Why would the Republic make their most important planets so vulnerable to sabotage? Didn't they watch Phantom Menace when an entire Droid army was disabled by destroying the mothership? Maybe if Jod had yelled "hello boys I'm baaaaack" as he destroyed the HAL 9000 I might have been more amused. maybe i've just seen too many movies and tv shows to be surprised anymore but this one just didn't get there for me.

Your opinion is totally valid! Obviously not every show is made for everyone. While i enjoyed it, maybe some of your questions will be answered in season 2!
