I am looking forward to this one as well. Mine is on its way, taking the long drive cross country to get here. It will be neat to drive one without the rear end darting out to the side randomly! LOL!
What a cracking giveaway, the RC Elf knows you so well to gift the hornet evo, its nice to see bearings in this kit, not even the RC10 can do that 😂 look forward to seeing it running. Ive put one on my list for santa, with a few others. Just have to see if ive been a good boy this year 😂
Hi Andy, nice unboxing, fella! It does look like a nice kit and of course you have a tidy set of hop-ups to make it even better! Good on the RC Elf, it sure is a very nice prize. I was chatting to him too recently, may be following in your footsteps but with a different kit! Looking forward to see your take on this buggy with the livery. Cheers pal! :D
Awesome, I think I need one of these now. Looking forward to seeing a lucky winner! That RC Elf really is a Blessing to our hobby. Happy days from this Aussie in China.
I like what Tamiya have done with this kit, as they have with others in the past, especially including oil dampers and ballraces throughout. My only complaint is the price really, it is a tad on the expensive side, but it is a Tamiya so no real surprise there. Great video as always fella, keep 'em coming!!
When you think a hornet is about £1100-£120 it’s a bit of a hike maybe. I guess they need to pay for those new moulded parts lol. Cheers again for watching , can’t wait to get this one done
From someone who built the original style Hornet 40 years back no cover on the heat resistor and still got the ole thing but things looks good and next buy when my new Celica and Squash Van are done and sort a dancing rider don't ask it makes me smile and this new one I so want to build it
I'm in for a hornet evo andy and look forward to the next video. Great unboxing and feel with it being called an evo, tamiya could have put a sport tuned black can motor in or something like that. 👍 great to see you and enjoy the build 😀
Hi Andy, as awesome as a decent handling Hornet will be, I don’t think it’s a good value kit, at around the £200 mark there’s better priced stuff out there, I just picked up a BH Wild One for £170
I'm building up some parts myself for this one. Damb I wish I could find a clear gearbox. Going with the 19t pinion with a hpi firebolt motor... Get rid of the screw pins. Alloy bumper and it's not going to be box art for this one.
Hi Mark , the clear gear box’s are hard to find or you have to break a very early super fighter G to get one. I’ve had this one sat in a draw for a good while now. My UGT motor arrived today but I might also go up to a 19 tooth as well. Enjoy your build
I’ve used frog ujs on mine with 42 mm shafts, then just add an m5 5mm spacer on the shaft in behind the hex adapter. With the 42mm shaft you no longer need the oring spacer in the cup
It is different but only a little bit , it has different cut out lines f oh r the front shock mounts and at the rear near where the spur gear cover sits on the gearbox in relation to the body shell the rest looks the same as far as I can see . :)
Cool Avante Earth Force you've got there. 👍
I was waiting for someone to notice that in the background ;)

Just ordered a Cougar 2 Works using your discount code, Cheers Andy 👍
Great stuff, cheers Martin :)
Great job Andy. Awesome giveaway.
Got mine today and I’m looking forward to the build. Been a while since I’ve been this excited to build a new kit

It's going to be a great build...I have one on order but it's been delayed (we are having a postal strike here in Canada...so no mail!) Looks great!
I don't blame you for bumping it up the que. I love the DT02 too and this Hornet is such a cool release. Great video Andy. Exciting stuff 👍🏻

Great fun looking kit 👌 and that clear gearbox looks mint 👍
Much appreciated ;) I’ve always like the clear gear cases on cars probably because you can see the internals etc. you don’t see to many about now
Awesome video andy and could feel your excitement about ❤ Enjoy the build and looking forward to seeing it in a later video 😊

Grayson loves his rising fighter with the dt01 rear axle.
That's an interesting release and can't wait to see it finished and runned ✌🤝
Hi
Just wondering is the competition open to the UK or just for Australia
Keep up the good work mate
Great videos
Love the Evo well done tamiya!
does the hornet evo you are giving away come with electronics & radio gear etc ?

I’m torn between one of these or a redcat mt18
Difficult choice , like the original hornet I think this variant will be awesome fun and just bring a smile to your face
Ok yes
Any idea if the driveshafts are the same as the dt02 ? I’m considering UJs for mine
Uj’s are definitely not the same as the dt02 , I reckon Tamiya and 3rd party makes will soon make some up though
@ will be interesting to see what comes out next year with regards to upgrades 👍
Thanks for reply 👍👍

Didn't it come with a ESC?
Hope I can win it. I talk to him too.
Body is different than the standard hornet

Wish it came with nicer wheels and decals not so plain.
I don’t mind it coming with the OG Wheels but not a fan of the livery, I’m not doing mine box art anyway ;)
