Nice video sjm. I don’t normally wear big headphones and usually daily some 2nd gen AirPod pros and they do work great. But, always nice to see 2 beefy headphones be compared to each other. Also, I was wondering if you could mod a DMG Gameboy by replacing the original lcd screen and putting a Gameboy pocket screen lcd in it. I have seen it been done before, but not commonly because of how hard and tedious it is. I would like to see you try it out.
This is a newer model of the cloud 2, made by HP. Compared to the older model (made by kingston) they are really bad. Might have to give the Eksa a try next time I need a new one.
@@sjm4306 I didn't either, until I got a new one. Quality is much worse. The HP ones are cheap plastic, worse quality. The Kingston ones still had metal in them. They're the pre-2019 (or 2020) models. People still sell these, new in box.
Generally if the audio device you are using doesn't have a great DAC or output amp stage then the analog output won't sound great (everything from distortion to just plain quiet output). This is especially true for mid/low end equipment and many computers (since they skimp on the audio circuitry since computers are meant for general purpose use). Getting a dedicated external DAC+amp can make a big difference when it comes to audio quality in these cases.

Digital to Analog Converter, it converts digital 1's and 0's to an analog voltage so we can actually hear it.
