The silhouettes being really bright might have to do with legal issues, since I think the mangaka for each of the Beyblade manga has part of the rights to the characters and the manga itself. I'm sure the mangakas would allow them being in the anime but it's probably too much of a hassle for what is ultimately a small reference.

@@zankye Yeah if you check the package of your Hasbro Beyblade X bey and take a look at the bottom left you'll find it says "©Homura Kawamoto, Hikaru Muno, Posuka Demizu, BBXProject, TV Tokyo" showing that those names own the copyright. The Japanese box probably has that on the back as well.
Japan doesn't have fair use from what I understand, so making references is risky. Osomatsu-san had its first episode taken down because the references were too on the nose.
The X anime really should have had more time to cook in the oven. An anime running on the heels of the manga does not end well.
Pacing wise, the recaps at the start were annoying. Everything else didn't bother me, especially since Quinn's dialogue was probably interesting from the bits I understood, we'll see more once the episode gets translated. I trust in Hikaru Muno, who wrote this episode (and is also writing the next ep).
And speaking of Hikaru Muno, he mentioned on Twitter that from the next episode and onward, he'll be taking over Kazuho Hyōdō's role as series composition. This means that Muno is now the head writer. As a reminder, Hikaru Muno is credited as writing the manga alongside his brother, Homura Kawamoto. He's also written many episodes for the anime and is credited as "script assistance". Muno as head writer is a good thing to me but the fact that it happened during the season is a bit worrying.
Nice storyboarding and great direction this episode. Masahiro Matsunaga storyboarded this episode and he usually does a nice job at storyboarding. And Mayu Tanimoto directed this episode, surprisingly (I figured she'd only work on Himitsu no AiPri since that's where her other coworkers are). She made her storyboard and direction debut with the first half of "The Apothecary Diaries" ep 18 and shocked the community with her skills. I don't know if she'll appear again but it'd be nice if she did.
One thing that did worry me though is that Yoshihiro Nagamori, one of the chief animation directors for this ep (having multiple CADs is an issue itself) is also credited for key animation. Nagamori mentioned he only did one cut but it's still worrying.
I think the issue is that they drag certain sections far more so it makes like a bit jarring, like she basically monologues a bit longer that she has this experience and that's OK but I feel like not much interesting was done, I feel a better direction could've been where it transition to a backstory for most of the episode then it ends with her approaching Kamen X that would make more sense, because I feel like next week we will basically have it where it has the last 3 mins of the episode put back in next week.
Episode had pretty good visuals I like it when the anime explores with the 4X system, I keep saying if the anime was able to have a bit more time in the oven could've been a step above the average we get per week.
I think next week should likely just be OK I feel they are dragging and assume next week is KAMEN VS QUINN then after two episodes on Kamen Y then they push to the end? I don't really know how else you get to 51

I assume we might get one more tournament before the anime ends, since there is the leaked Leon Crest + Phoenix which is also likely that might be anime only to appear?
@@zankye Either that or at least make it more visually interesting, since there's a lot of panning shots. Stuff like the mini flashback where we see all the bladers she fought and the screens zooms out to show how many bladers she fought, more stuff like that would be good.
And the anime's visuals will definitely improve over time. In fact, compared to the beginning of X I'd say the visuals are generally better now.
A big reason why the visuals of X aren't that good is because of mismanagement. Some of the stars of Beyblade Burst left OLM and created their own studio, Bug Films. And some were moved to work on The Apothecary Diaries (and now, Himitsu no AiPri). The rest were working on Beyblade Burst QuadStrike, Dark Gathering and Beyblade X (although QuadStrike has the staff that left to work on The Apothecary Diaries) all of which aired in 2023 and were 24-26 episodes long (except for Beyblade X).
This year, Team Masuda (the production line for Beyblade Burst DB, QS, and Beyblade X alongside a few other anime) only have one anime scheduled this year, a 12 episode anime called I Parry Everything (yes that's actually the name lol) and if you look at the trailers for that it shows the staff are capable of doing good work. And it also suggests that Team Masuda's workload is less than before. I don't think anything will get close to Burst's visuals since that's an exception among exceptions, but hopefully the next season will look better than X.

This is what happens when you release an anime that releases weekly so soon after a manga that only gets a new chapter once a month, you get trash pacing like this
They plan a year's worth of scripts though, and one of the manga's writers literally wrote this episode and is becoming the head writer for the anime starting from the next ep lol.
