My favourite thing about the view from up there is seeing the skyline growing. Every time I go up there it seems like the amount of skyscrapers has doubled! But I can appreciate the railfanning from up there too - enjoy it while you can since there is a proposal for a rail deck park between Blue Jays Way and Bathurst Street that will block that whole segment from view from above, although having the park there connecting the adjacent neighbourhoods will be super nice too! In fact, there's already one smaller one at the CIBC Square Elevated Park with awesome views of the trains! I highly recommend that spot for any railfans visiting Toronto 🙂
Thanks for the heads-up about the potential for that awesome train view to be lost, V! The news confirms for me the fact that this little channel of mine is partly an archival project, whether I like it or not. A park would be nice, for sure, and I will absolutely check out the one already there you mentioned with train views. Now I'm thinking I'll need to be back in Toronto for the sparkly nighttime views from the CN Tower sooner rather than later.
I lived in Trenton as a teenager in the 1970's and we would drive the 100 miles to Toronto on a Friday night for something to do. On one of these trips we went up the CN tower - I haven't been back there since.
