The song “Popular” is the most truthful song on the Wicked soundtrack. 🎵 “It’s not about aptitude, but the way you’re viewed.” 🎵 Most people are shallow af. It’s human nature so why not capitalize off of that.

Glinda halo aura makes it easier for her to social climb. Because she doesn’t really have to do much but portray kindness.

Don’t shy away from having a baby face y’all. It can go a long way when building relationships. People think you’re innocent and will genuinely help you but you can be plotting the entire time 😂😉 but all seriousness, some people will try to talk down on you and be condescending. It works out in the end though because they’ll be the bully and you’re the sweetie they tried to mess with. 😌

Chrissie, I am beyond happy you are putting blk girls and wmn on game, something very, very few are doing. Teaching us how to level up our imagery and control it.
Thank you for having the conversations that we do desperately need!!!

THIS is the conversation, strategy, game thats gonna upset the girlies. I remember explaining to a (blk) colleague that opportunism isnt all bad- the uproar my god lol. Stop living by a moral code that NO ONE else is following 🤷‍♀️ (But still be a decent human)

Exactly, this is the truth! I’ve come to realization that some people just don’t want to be adaptable and strategic to persevere in life. Unfortunately, they could end up left behind.

The amount of "Glinda's the real villain" takes really shows this. There's a whole fake wizard strategically using their reputation to fool the entire country and strip a group of their rights, but she's a villain for knowing how to be popular? If anything she's a good example of how to use opportunism without going too far (once she started actually caring about Elphaba)

Woke culture has fooled people (especially black women) to always taking a moral high ground, even when it’s against their best interest. Being competitive is okay (obviously there is a limit) but I wish more women took advantage of opportunities that come their way and use their charming personality/ looks to get what they want.

Glinda IS the villan of th story! She HAS the power to stop these terrible things from happening but is too selfish to try. That's IS the message of the story. Y'all are missing the whole point.

@mimia.4810 woke is just right wing dog whistiling If people took the moral high ground the world would be a better place. Wokeness is the reason black people have rights.

I have always been the outcast, and that taught me invaluable lessons. After my recent move back to a bigger city, I plan to use everything I learned over the years to re-cast myself into a more relatable person. Being an Elphaba teaches you inner strength and self-love, but being a Glinda opens doors and makes your life easier. Combine the two, and you have magic🧜🏽‍♀️🧜🏽‍♀️

This was a great positive take on Galinda. So far I have only seen negative commentary. Galinda was flawed as a “friend” to Elphaba, but she was definitely strategic and smart!

She was definitely a horrible friend lol. At the end of the day she got what she wanted. I think the point of this video is to take that approach for some scenarios in life to get ahead but definitely don’t take it literal and be a bad friend

@@dianasohn2515 I honestly don’t think her not going with elphie makes her a horrible friend. It just means they have different paths to take. And be for real. Irl if an opportunity comes won’t you grab it? Even if it means you’ll be a bad friend. Cause I’ll sure grab that opportunity. If you won’t. Wow that’s good for you. You’re a saint! 🙂

As an introvert it’s definitely easier to charm individual people or smaller groups over time, instead of the entire room at once. At least this way you can bounce from person to person at a social function. Look for the people that are standing by themselves charm them.

Glinda was always self- centred and only cared about her which is not a bad thing. One to thing I noticed is she was very desperate to be liked by Madame Morrible, and is always obsessed with being liked, which showed her insecurities something.

Interesting take on Glinda. Other key lessons that we can learn from her interactions with Elphaba is this:
    1. Apologize to someone through your actions, not just words.
    2. Sometimes your first impression of someone can be wrong. Try to get to know the person.
    3. It’s ok to not be liked by everyone. There are people who genuinely love you for you(this something Glinda is going to struggle with more as the musical continues).

Glinda=Public Relations queen(or propaganda term depending on how you see it), her song Popular says it all
"I remind them on their own behalf
    To think of
    Celebrated heads of state
    Or specially great communicators!
Did they have brains or knowledge?
    Don't make me laugh!
    They were popular!
    Please!
    It's all about popular
    It's not about aptitude
    It's the way you're viewed
So it's very shrewd to be
    Very very popular
    Like me!"

3:38- I love everything you said. However, being surface level is okay if it is a win-win situation. Nobody needs to know your true feelings or intentions. Let the moral nay sayers say nay if they so choose to. This kind of behaviour is a survival technique when you know life is not sugar and roses.

    • @FemStrategy
      @FemStrategy  Місяць тому +26

No, she doesn’t have actual powers in the movie. I used the term ‘’magic” to refer to her effective social skills and to go along with the theme of the movie.

    • @DreamsInBlue
      @DreamsInBlue Місяць тому +3

She had magical powers when she was in the bubble bc at that point she was "Glinda the Good."
She told the backstory on how she and Elphaba met and interacted while in school, and back then, she did not have any powers, or if she did she could not harness them yet like Elphaba could.
