- The Traverse is Chevrolet's 3-row SUV. Under the hood 3.6L V6 producing 310HP & mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. On the outside you will see this Traverse has the black accent package. On the inside you will find that the 3LT package brings a lot of technology and features. Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse a good SUV to BUY or wait for a redesign?

We ended up buying a new 2021 Traverse (Premium Redline Edition) last night for right under $40K! Thing is fully loaded and sharp looking!! Wifey shut the kids down quickly when they brought up what snacks fit where lol. Keep up the good work!

My wife just bought the 2021 RS version with a quite a few options. Very good daily family SUV that not only looks good, is comfortable, but also has a ton of space inside the vehicle for my daughters martial arts weapons and about 6000 Twinkies. Keep the reviews coming. Great job as always...

I love the storage and flexibility in terms of the 3rd row compared to something like the Sorento that would make you eat your knees in that third row. I do agree, definitely needs a redesign however not a big GM fan.
Hope you can get your hands on a Rivian R1S to review as well as the new Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer once available for sale.
Apart from the Rivian R1S and the Tesla Cyber Truck, the Grand Wagoneer is definitely up there in terms of tech.

A solid overview of the Traverse, terrific info on the current model! We just bought a loaded Chevy Traverse Redline Edition 2 weeks ago & love it, a great ride with all the best safety tech & the 360 degree camera system & rear view mirror, a Bose sound system, a comfy roomy SUV with all wheel drive & great styling! Our Premiere model has the heated & ventilated seats, power & heated steering wheel, lane assist & it maintains the speed of freeway traffic, the Redline has all gloss Black lower trim, all chrome is Blacked out including 20 inch wheels with Red stripes, a much sportier model with every option available. We got $10,500 off the $51,500 sticker price, a smoking deal!

You should’ve done the redline edition of the traverse! It looks way more sporty and better than this body style. I was really hoping for the redesign in 2020. It’s sad they pushed it back because they wanted to get the new Tahoes and Yukons out. They look good tho!
I have a 2017 and have been pleased. I like the newer look post 2017. Wish they didn't have the stop start feature. I will wait for the 2022 models to see what those look like.
I love my wife's 2020 Traverse RS. It doesn't look like a soccer mom car in that trim. Definitely comfortable, smooth, spacious and has enough power for what we need.

Just sold my 2016 Explorer for a 2021 Traverse Redline. Overall I'm happy with it, a few things were a bit off so it isn't perfect but I'd still recommend it.

I can say from experience with my 2016, the hard plastic on top of the doors is an improvement. Mine is soft and if I wasn't a careful taking care of as I am, it would be ruined in no time.

Amazing video! Is it possible to recline the third row seats like the second row? I know similar competitors do have that feature and I wanted to know.
The advantage of the space is real. I moved some bug objects with Traverse, and sometimes, they fit the trunk of the traverse with third raw down perfectly, meaning any SUV that is smaller than traverse in trunk space son't be able to fit it unless have second row down.

I’m looking at 3-row SUVs right now; my family has generally leaned GM, but I’m open to evaluating everything to find the right fit for me. If I go down this path, I’ll pick the Buick Enclave instead; it has the same engine and interior space, but it’s more comfortable and stylish IMO, and loading up the Chevy tends to close the price gap quite a bit.
I’m also currently digging the Cadillac XT6 (great lease deals for a premium brand right now), Mazda CX-9 (great-looking inside and out), Ford Explorer ST (a blast to drive), Acura MDX (the reliable choice, with great deals to be had on the outgoing version), and the Palisade/Telluride twins (but damn are they hard to pin down right now).

I’ll be buying another traverse, my 2013 saved my life when I shouldn’t have walked away from the accident. She did what she was meant to do and let me tell you what those traverse are packed with air bags.

Buick Enclave is the Traverse with a nicer interior. Pricing is similar with incentives. Bought an Enclave last year and love it! Biggest crossover SUVs on market....makes all competitor crossover suvs look and feel small. Amazing how small they drive too.
I like the outside design, but the infotainment and center cluster need a redesign, needs wireless Apple and Android CarPlay and a bigger LCD or full LCD for instrument cluster. Less hard plastic as well.
I wish you could’ve gotten your hands on a fully loaded traverse, but another great video like always! I like Chevy but I’m really not sure what all you are getting for $46k.. my mom’s car has everything this has plus more and was $35k brand new. Yeah it’s bigger (as hers is a car and this is a SUV) and has a v6 versus a 4-cylinder, but I really don’t think that’s $11k more. Can’t wait for the redesign though!
I'd wait for the refresh but tbh it's my favorite in the segment. I'd take it over the telluride or palasade

We have a 2020. Rides smooth and plenty of room about the only positive I can say. Indicator blinks service AWD system. Service emergency brakes. Recall spurrs in the gas line that restricts the amount of fuel flow to the motor. All this with less than 25k. This is the last GM product for me.
Joe, my hat is off to you. You review these without knocking OR promoting the competition, you just "site" this one or that, but very informitively and unbiast (ck sp on that word : ) . Me, on the other could never be so diplomatic, i sat myself in the 2021 Sorento X-Line Prestige on Saturday morning, and by lunchtime i owned it. To me, blows most to ALL of the competition away, and i've done about 100 test drives this month & watched a thousand vids! Keep up the great work, you twinkie, we love ya : ) AND i have no idea WHY i'm still watching vids on new vehicles that i'm not even interested in...lol BTC

I couldn`t help but notice the lights inside the center console compartment. Is that a common feature on new cars because I don`t think I have ever noticed these on any other reviews recently?
Test drove this a Explorer and a Pilot. We ended up with the Pilot, a lot more comfortable, Insanely reliable and cheapest out of all 3 we looked at and even had the most standard features 👍🏻
We own a explorer 😁 we were looking at every SUV in this segment and ford just gives the BEST DISCOUNTs
I can’t argue with that reliability and standard features it’s just we got like 6 or 7k off a car! Its probably because they wanna sell as much cars as possible but still discounts are cool 😎

I just lease surrendered an xt5 - dealer was pushing the xt6 but the numbers didn’t make sense and I wanted awd towing capacity and more room inside.
For the price the Traverse was a better move for me.
This is my future dream car maybe I can get it soon! I like the white lt :)
I’ve loved my 2012 and I’ve been looking at the 2921s until I just had to sink more money into my 2012 with less than 100k miles. Passing on the Traverse next time around and going for a Toyota Highlander. Not as sexy as a Traverse but more reliable.
Highlander 3rd row is UNUSABLE for adults
Great car I just got one best room and nice drive over all only cons are redesign could of happened in 2021 still old school feel for a 21 and other company is it’s a gas guzzler 13mpg on road and about 26 on the highway at average
what makes the Traverse competitive are dealer and mfg discounts that are always there. $46k with no ventilated seats or AWD? Nope. But you could probably find a High Country for $48k with everything. I still got a Telluride because the materials and fit and finish are better. Kia also has adjustable seatbelts and 2nd row sunscreens, something the Chevy doesn't have at all. I also got a HUD and ventilated/heated 2nd row seats.
