After seeing how much you enjoy the short stories, I started reading my first short story collection. I’m reading Skeleton Crew by Stephen King. It’s a lot of fun. It’s my first King book and short stories. I never would have given it a try if not for your videos. Thank you!

That’s one Stephen King book I don’t have but now I’m gonna have to get it 🤣 keep me updated when you finish. It’s easy to forget that a lot of classics started off as short cereals in magazine.

hi there, friend. seems like a long time since i commented. i've been traveling a bit visiting family and friends. but i'm back home in vegas and trying to get caught up on videos from my favorite content creators. that's you! ;)
wow. you really like the disc world books. i've never read them. they just don't appeal to me. it reminds me of the piers anthony xanth books. have you heard of those? they never appealed to me either. oh, well. i'm glad you are enjoying them.
ah, heart of darkness. i read that in high school and then i read it as an adult about thirty years ago. i never liked it. i understand that it's a classic but, once again, it did nothing for me.
borges? you may like him. he is considered one of the greatest writers, certainly one of the greatest spanish writers that ever lived. enjoy!
i watch the outlaw bookseller and love his videos. his walking ones as well. i must have missed when he mentioned his share of glory. then again, i need to get caught up on his recent videos. i know he has a big backlog but, alas, there is only so much time. i will have to add his share of glory to my endless tbr list
her smoke rose up forever is awesome. i can't recall if i told you that on one of my trips i came across a nearly brand new copy of an alice sheldon biography. i picked it up based on what you had said in a previous video. looking forward to reading about her amazing life
i just came back from visiting a close friend in new mexico and you are absolutely right that bless me ultima seems to be a must read for anyone who lives in new mexico. that's what he told me a few years ago. i've never read it and maybe now i won't. thanks for taking the hit for us! btw: i grew up in new jersey and i don't recall a specific book that everyone had to read.
apsara engine sounds interesting. thanks for putting it on my radar!
poe is awesome. and yeah everything seems to be derivative. it's hard for modern writers to come up with original stories when it seems it's all already been done. but that's their problem! ;)
greek mythology is essential if you are going to read western literature. as i recall the edith hamilton book is a classic for being introduced to greek mythology. it's kind of funny that there would be an introduction that says the first part is a slog. too funny.
13 may be an unlucky number because of the story of christ. judas was number 13 if i recall correctly
as for the news....the world is going to sh*t. nothing new there! a little bit of humor is needed. do you watch the juice media's channel? they are an australian group that puts out "honest government videos" that poke fun at crazy politicians and policies. hysterical! helps to keep us sane
that's all for now. until next time....

i wanna get more into Latino literature and borges seems right up my ally but i got so much on my tbr.
and yes the more ppl i talk to the more i hear the best author of (random state) is unusual, but what ever gets you lol
please let me know what you think about the Alice Sheldon book her life sounds so interesting
      I hope you're reading some good books💃🐧

Another great video, man! I commend you for your transparency and honesty regarding mental health. More people deal with it or have dealt with it than they admit. I hope you're doing great 🎉.🙏👊

Absolutely, man, we are actually on vacation at the moment. A much needed break from everyday life (work, etc...). I just recently found your UA-cam channel, and I have to. I appreciate your "realness", I also enjoy the news section as well. You're doing great, man, keep your head up and take it one day at a time 💪👍

Did you change your shelves? Or maybe I just haven't noticed lately. The backdrop looks really nice here regardless.
I read heart of darkness last year.. And didn't like it 😅 there is a book responding to it more recently tho, something like Exterminate all Brutes I think? Would be interesting to pair if you are thinking about a critical read.

Thanks for noticing, the book shelves are like a moving piece of art. 🧐
I did end up rereading heart of darkness and I really think I got it this time.
Exterminate all the brutes sounds like an interesting read, I never read a response book before.
      Thx for the recommendation
