Those Knights of the Black Rose got Bjuna'd, Bile trolled and Rot Knight charged. But they could not hear any Bell from inside those skull helmets.
Facts!
The bile trolls have some honestly wicked animations for what amounts gameplay wise to yet another troll reskin. Like one of their attack animations they reach down their mouth, yank out their guts and just wail on the enemy with it. Brutal.
Let's face it they are a troll CA wasn't going to go out of the way to make another troll unique
@@DavisJ-ln6fwbut op literally just finished saying they have their own animations. And its a new skin, audio and different statline & abilities. Its still a Troll at the end of the day but its had more effort put in than Stone Trolls

Literally any faction that isn't the latest DLC: "Do you see how powerful they are?!"
Warriors of Chaos who aren't related to the DLC at all: "For me? You shouldn't have!"
Not necessarily in campaign. Which will make Khorne harder to work with because they are bad in multi but in Campaing once you understand how they play he is completely busted.
Beastman (who had 1 dlc in total): why are we suddenly getting the grace of the dark gods?
Man gotta hand it to Lord, after his Hochland rifles were offline I'd wager a 100 bucks to him loosing badly, impressive turning it around.
Also what the flippers how did the stirlands do so good, absolutely crazy.
Agreed it looked over. Maybe it was the view Turin had through the replay but Empire never actually looked like they were winning until the very end.
Stirlands Revenge were absolute Chads and still one of my favourites.
They are rather deceptively good with AP shooting. And with the RoR statboost they are also somewhat decent in Melee too, not just "dont die immediately".
Dude won by 12 points, damn that's close.

Use poorhounds instead of rot knights to take out the Hogs!!!! The damage!!!! :O

One thing about bringing bile trolls is that they apply poison and their melee defense debuff, so they are really helping get the Nurgle army ability built up.
The capture points opening up immediately in domination is a great change. Excited to test out the new content next week.
Lets just hope there is no degenerate all speed build at the top of the meta now. Doesn't seem likely but you never know.
Finaly a domination game, nothing against a good landbattle, but i like thid mode way more.

Finally :). Land battles aren't bad but after watching only those for a whole week one can truly appreciate how much more exciting domination mode is.

Curious about the revert change of Domination mode... For those who don't know, it was already like that when the game launched, but the community asked for the points to be locked at the start of a game because fast factions had an edge over slower ones. We'll see if it stays that way, I haven't followed the competitive scene in a while so I don't know why player wanted it back.
And another note, I'm not sure the pigeon bombs should have infinite charges when I see the damage it does...
Yeah, I also feel bad about Gelt. In multiplayer battles, he's like a guardsman standing next to a spacemarine ( Elspeth)
Honestly a little on the fence about the objectives opening immediately. Maybe make it 30 seconds? Makes me wonder how slower factions like the dwarfs may be at a disadvantage to faster factions getting to the Obj’s quicker.
Dwarfs got some speedy units with slayer pirates dommseekers plus vanguard
Flesh to Stone is such an underused spell! It's awesome on glass cannons like flagellants or wild riders.
Depending on faction, I'd say Bile Trolls and a Pestigor core would be pretty good. Reducing Melee Defence by 6 is nothing to sniff at, and lots of debuffs for the faction abilities.
It's kind of disappointing to see Nurgle go from low mid to high mid, but we'll have to see how things shake out in the dom tournaments. Maybe there's some rotten strats yet to be found.
I don't know what it is, but whenever I see the rot Knights in gameplay videos, they seem kinda fragile? They seem to die super fast.
Low armor my friend. This game is all about armor. They need 100 armor at least or lower price. Rot knights got too much damage even from non ap units
Nurgle has the best update out of the three, not "the strongest" but "the best"
why on earth do Pestigors only have 26 MD with mark of nurgle? I do like what Nurgle's received, but definitely agree they came out in 3rd place in the dlc relatively speaking. Was also disappointed that nothing was done to beast of nurgle or rot flies, but I guess with the army ability change we might see the occasional beast in armies. Come to think of it, does the Nurgle army ability build off of spell debuffs as well?
Some UA-camrs says what now army ability open slowly. Thats absurd

In tabletop you only ignore regen save with fire if the target is flammable. If the target is not flammable, fire does nothing to the regen save.
I think the Skullcrushers/Bloodcrushers should have Strider like they had from tabletop (If I remember correctly) to make them perhaps a bit different from the Rot Knights here.
If (1500 - your tickets) < 0.5 * (1500 - opponent's tickets), or colloquially if your remaining tickets are less than half of your opponent's, you will win with one objective.
Is there a point to put Exalted heroes on Rot beast instead of horse since they don't get regen ?

Imo normal skullcrushers should function close to how Knights of the brazen throne do.
What do you think is the reason to take the Engineer on the mehcanical horse as opposed to the normal horse?

I know you mean stats wise, but, on a non mechanical note, the little canter the mechanical horses do is one of my favourite new animations. It always makes me smile

Wow really close game and a great showcase of the new units. Nurgle and Empire both looked quite different. Thank you. LOL pigeon bombs were terrible in 8th edition table top. If you roll badly they hit your own Empire troops.
I was recently looking at Nurgle in the Old World, they're not slow, they've still got M4 for Plaguebearers so they're just as quick as nearly every other faction other than Skaven and Beastmen, though they're definitely lacking their quicker pieces like Toads.

What a game. Definitely high level gameplay from both players. You show how pestigors are good if you use that unit right. Still think they need more speed because of too low melee defense. And just look at how much more units empire bring to the match. Looks like greenskins, you delete one unit, they bring another. In one moment i think omg why empire have so many troops and nurgle so outnumbered. Definitely shows what nurgle roster overpriced.
A landship instead of the Hochlands, burning heads vs pestis and Knights of the Blazing Sun probably would have done you in way sooner

Making skullcrushers be able to push through infantry would help them a lot. That would balance a bit their awful mobility.
has there been any additions to quickplay multiplayer map pools in 5.0 ?
In a 1v1 scenario, skullcrushers beat everything thats not Bear cavalry or Mournfang cavalry and trade pretty even with Grail Knights. Of course there is more to a 1v1 in a pitch fight, but they are not bad at what they are meant to do.
I love skullcrushers but the problem is their speed, makes it harder to get the engagements you want because most of the targets they'd trade well against can just avoid them
The only other cav as slow as them are the Bull Centaur Renders, which can beat them in sustained combat
I 100% agree with your take on the Empire rework, and it makes me very happy as a tabletop and WHTW Empire main. I wish the Staff of Volans had been given some WoM generation ability upon activation + a spell mastery bar like the new Lady Elspeth got. I’ll just grab some mod that does that for campaign but I would have liked some touch ups to him. Everything else for Empire is gnarly though.
I hope we get to see some forest+snipe plays with the long rifles in future.
Is it a release date thing or does Nurgle only have only one RoR in this DLC? I saw three for the Empire and Dwarfs and the blog said 3 for each but not seeing anything for Nurgle except the RoR Rot Knights.
THey have a ror Soulgrinder and Ror rot flies with death heads (i think that is what the grenades are called at least)

Rot knights feel insane to be honest. So glad to see those expensive cav units good, just like the grail or blood knights. Hope we see more "elite" cav getting some kind of buff or update. I mean rot knights cost 400 gold more than chaos knights and look at the difference..

Main issue with nurgle in this update is that the army ability charges so much less effectivelly
just so you know, your videos are consistently 20-40% quieter than all the other youtube videos. not sure if anyone has mentioned. not a huge deal but i dial up everytime i tune in
Just wait until the Vampires get a DLC and all gun factions are crying for Nurgle to come and out-grind the vampires for them lol

Id Like to See them Lean hard into all the Chaos gods Strengths and Weaknesses. try to stay away from Balancing them into being able to do anything... and make them into a Power rangers Magazord... like a puzzle, or like a team of, TANK, DPS, Ranged, and SPeed

Only Kayzk has it right now out of the lords and heroes, I believe. Probably an oversight.

It was probably a deliberate decision, Regen on Exalted Heroes would make them a lot better and they were already great.
Skullcrushers are 1700 so 100g less that the rot knights. But I still think the SC need a speed buff at least, and maybe -50g.

It's simple give khorne monstrous cav a bit better stats and healing when fighting in melee.
Seeing the units in Battle they seem better balanced then I feared, although the thunderbarge looks an abomination.
One thought on new units, its the civilisations they represent that should be important. One problem with Lizardmen for example is there are precious few troop types, CA should add a wide variety of troops to add spice to the game.

One of my favourite things is lords with HUGE MOUNTS. Even if it’s never competitive/good, I freaking LOVE lords on the big monsters.

Only Tamurkhan can take the Toad Dragon mount, Chaos Lords of Nurgle take a Rot Beast.
The Undivided generic lords will probably be the only ones with big monster mounts to give people in campaign an actual reason to use them.

Doesn’t going back to zero time for objectives to be active nerf all the slow factions again.
The whole reason we went to the inactive objectives was to allow slower factions to be competitive
If I remember correctly in the meantime the game duration has been tripled as well, so I don't think it's a huge deal.
Pestigors, Beastmen blessed by Papa Nurgle, have worse stats than Gors. Why the hell are is their MD 26?
How do you get access to the beta?
The caster having access to the rot beast mount makes the generic melee lord feel redundant. I'm guessing they have the same stats or just marginally worse ones on the caster. And the utility on the chaos lord of nurgle didn't seem particularly worthwhile, he doesn't get innate healing and bringing him with a caster hero is a lot more expensive.
Some of these recent games havent been really fair. It seems one side is wining overwhelmingly due to other side (in this game Empire) not playing very well.
Did you even watch the game till the end lol? I mean - I made a fair few mistakes the biggest ones on the build screen I think, though I don't think neither Turin nor me has played poorly this game.

I thought the point of delayed start was to help slow races not get triple capped for nothing.... Miss the days when Felkon was the best player now its some dude named chicken lord.... I'm getting old.
It’s going to be much better for gunline/slow factions. Previously the best way to beat them was often to spend a long time not engaging to build up a massive wave of troops .

Nurgle needs to lean into Damage through AOE... and the closer they are together the stronger the disease. Make them into TANKS that kill their enemies by just being near them.
Weak Melee, Weak Ranged.... OP with heals and AOE poisons. lean hard
Someone mentioned state troopers getting a cost increase and I think I agree. Empire can flood you with infantry to block or hold objectives. If they were as bad as Brettonia infantry then sure but a small increase might mean you have one or two less units on the field at once
You know people say that and it doesn't make sense. State troops are supposed to be numerous and decently cost effective.

i hope khorne pvp gets a no spell mastery caster hero of like fire and metal only. them not having magic is a huge negative to competitive multiplayer like no range for vampire counts. the game is so developed now every faction should have some option for every obstacle/playstyle even if over-priced or underperforming. the option helps with counterpicking and just overall flavor and playstyle of a faction

why don't u ever do normal land battles? You lost so many viewers due to it, just a friendly question.
Some folks may have stopped watching, but when it comes to content work you have to do what you enjoy/are into, or else it reflects in your work imo. I enjoy dom more, granted, I just posted like 5 LB videos. Many folks also like domination mode more than LB, so that pendulum swings both ways. I do have some plans for LB events in the future as well.
