I love this meme in context of fighting games since there's a moment in fighting games when you "download" your opponent and are able to read them perfectly
I think what also makes this funny for me is it's very similar to when Jotaro said something along the lines of "I've pretty much gotten the hang of this" to D'arby in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Can Confirm, this works for Souls-like bosses. I did a challenge run to take out Ibis in Armored Core Six with just my generalist AC, whose main armament was bazookas; blast the stagger bar full, then hop in for a melee hit. Thing is, bazookas are slow. However, I fished for timing windows where I could get a hit in, and when I found one, I was like, "Yeah, I got this." And beat it. I have since taken that build all the way through a full three runs of all 3 timelines.
Drop the build pls, I wanna try it. Also, yeah, literally me on my Revengence playthrough of MGR:R. At Armstrong with no medkits, a single hit spelled doom for me. I almost gave up and restarted the mission. But… then I understood it, and I beat his ass on my second attempt the next day.

This is honestly how it feels when watching sports and esports- anything with a 1v1 or team v team game. Anything from soccer to FPS games to car soccer (rocket league, especially rocket league) where its a best of 3 or more, and you get to see different playstyles match against each-other. One person will lose the first game, but then change it up in the second, and by the third if the opponent didn't adapt well then they're getting completely demolished by the one who did adapt.
