  • In this AP chemistry tutorial video, I explain how a weak acid problem differs from a strong acid problem. For a weak acid, the Ka is a measure of how much the weak acid ionizes. If given the Ka and initial acid concentration, you can solve for the pH by completing an equilibrium problem relating to the ionization of the acid or the dissociation of the acid. I show how you can solve this with both and ICE box and with an easy shortcut. If given the pH and the initial acid concentration, you can solve for the Ka by completing an equilibrium problem, again either with an ICE Box or shortcut equation.
