G-Body Cutlass - Cold Case Aluminum Dual Fan Radiator Upgrade

In this episode, we are installing a Cold Case dual fan aluminum radiator in the 1978 Cutlass Supreme. After fixing the ignition issues we had with the HEI system, we sprung a leak in the radiator after the test drive.

How is the radiator and fans working out did you ever figure out the CFM … I’m looking at the same setup for my 86 Monte Carlo

The fans and radiator set up works really well. However, I have not had a chance to test the new set up in warmer weather. Ambient temps were in the 50's and 60's when I was testing. As far as the CFM's, Summit has them listed as a combined 3,200 CFM rating. Overall very happy with the Cold Case install and I would recommend. High price point, but I was looking at some of the lower cost options and I wasn't happy with the reviews.

How did you delete the old cooling fan. Is there a kit that you can get? I'm looking to do the same thing to my 79 cutlass

Yes, Sir! The radiator comes as a kit with the two electric fans included. There is however, a separate wiring harness with temperature sending unit & relay that needs to be purchased to supply and switch the 12 volts to the fans. The parts were purchased from Summitracing.com and listed in the description. Have fun!
