Always loved earthships, since I was a kid. This is one of the best productions I've ever seen on them. Honestly, this is the best production I've seen on this. Thank you for sharing. Subscribed.
This is amazing! I've been finding my path recently and this truly inspired me. I'm living month to month, but I'm an artist and it's my life dream to just be completely self sustainable and escape this mind ****ery that we are living in, be in harmony again. How do you begin the process on a low budget? I ordered your kit today but ye of little patience 😂 Thank you for what you're doing. It's awesome to see a community of like minded people, been looking for y'all ❤
Yes! Any in depth tutorials you can make are HUGELY appreciated for people like me, who want to build one of these houses someday, but fear and lack of knowledge is stopping us. I'm learning so much already and I'm so inspired. I started looking at land already!
Loved every minute of this content ! I’ve been building out my 1998 E250 high top for the past 2 years all by my lonesome, just dreaming of freedom and the open road. It’s content like this that keeps me going! Almost gave up a few times 🙏🏼☝️🫵🙌✌️ Thank you ❤
I have been researching earthships and alternative housing for years and this is the first of your videos I've seen. I love it, how you edited and presented everything was spot on! I've been dreaming of building an earthship in a Northern climate. I hope to one day pick your brain and maybe see you on the job site. Keep up the good work my friend!
My father built an earthship inspired home in Upper Michigan! He used around 1500 tires, heavy gauge plastic pit liner and lots of logs he cut from his property. He sold the home in 1999 due to divorce. He died in 2015 and I sure would like to go back and see it.
Instead of aluminum cans between the tires, you could use tin cans. They are much stronger. They also are filling landfills, even though they can be recycled. Just a thought.
I too have been gathering knowledge on earth ship building , just got a job not that far from crestone co. , looking forward to going over the wolf creek pass to s meet Tom and helping him out wow I am excited been doing roofing, flooring , framing ,remodeling my whole life and I am no spring chicken just met a cattle rancher from Alamosa . May God be with you my friend , THANK YOU
OGG 👋 Ron mentioned 11 steps to build. But I only counted like 6 or 7? Have you done a video on the basic steps? This one had most of it. Would love to see one of the water recycling, how it's done, and the POM too. Thanks 🌻 😊
I'm inspired by your video especially greenhouses and aluminum roofing. Please door the roofing series. Insulation has been a concern and preparation of the underlining system.
The video would tour multiple homesteads that draw inspiration from Earthship principles, highlighting their unique features, construction methods, and eco-conscious designs.
Inspiring and a little disheartening to see how far away I am from where I want to be but that’s my own fault! Thanks for taking the time to spread info about these hardworking and lovely people who are really doing it baby 🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️✌🏻

Just wondering, have they figured out the issue of the walls when the tires start to balls because of a compression, I’ve watched several people who are the second owners of a new ship home having to redo the walls because they say the tires are studying the bulge and ruin the walls and they have to redo them?
Although i appreciate the psychedelic origins, I'm interested in seeing a more minimal aesthetic. I love the basic principles of the EarthShip philosophy, but I only see one specific interpretation. If possible, I would effect modernist or brutalist design. Are these builds reliant on volunteer work?
My idea of a GREAT home would be a very " earth ship " inspired construction . ( without all that very Volunteered free Labor from a small army of Twenty something's with strong backs' & free minds' ) If You could build a house with a inexperienced Labor force. AND without all the backbreaking labor and still get the same results at the same expense as a regular house build THAT would be a miracle ( plus it might be easier to get a home loan & permits for )
I grew up in NY! Came to VA 18 years ago. This is absolutely wonderful to watch! Is there a way to volunteer? My daughter is graduating high school next year, she’s volunteering for a progressive group right now in Virginia. I’m sure this is something she would love to be a part of during the break between hs and college and into the future…
I don't know if in the US this rule applies BUT in ONTARIO and NEW BRUNSWICK , if you have your water turned off perhaps waiting to sell a house example an estate property or you bought another house, the city still charges you for the water and sewage hook up that you are not using. They say it is because of the inferstructure that runs in front of the house, which I may say is on city property. Just goes to show you this system sets the rules, to go into your pockets and keeps on being money whores. I love earthships, sustainable living, growing your own food, responsible for your life and how you want to live. Free pockets of sustainable living is a way to get away from the the ruthless building codes that want to drain you for permits and products. Reuse, recycle, and use what's going into land sites ,lets the earth breathe . Respect for our planet, instead of lining CEO'S pockets. Yes, of course there needs to be some rules of proper waste management to keep safety but not at the cost of doing it naturally as nature would and have fees to pay out, just because someone has a closed mind and no understanding or willingness to understand how this works.
I have recently started learning about Earthships and so I loved watching this video….and yet even though it is your channel and it is a subjective thing, the music was just….too much. Especially the first half. It seemed like it would fit with going clubbing in the city somewhere….just a mismatch for me, with the content. Too loud, too irritating. Not sure why music was needed at all?!
IMHO Using old tires is dangerous because tires are extremely toxic. Tires continue to off gas extremely toxic vapors and they will not ever be less toxic. Have you ever walked into a big box store which sells tires? There is a distinct odor in the air and that is from the tires off gassing. Some day people will become aware of their huge mistake to ever use ground up tires on athletic fields, play grounds and other surfaces. Those that spend time on these surfaces will eventual endure health issues whether it be immediate or decades later. And for those that say, "The tires are covered or sealed". Unless the tires are fully encapsulated with a permanent vapor barrier... people living in such structures will be exposed to the toxins. Having said that... I am fully supportive of alternative building techniques with the exception of using tires.
The idea is to use the tires as a retaining wall, possibly to create a ventilated space, a utility room, between the living areas and the tires. I have seen that done.
Hahaha I wish! Actually, I have done it a few times in the sauna and then laying in snow ❄️ and also one time where there was both a warm pool and a freezing one, that was the best!

Awesome work!!! Omg!!! Just beautiful!!!👠🚌👠
Another cool idea i found a buddy of mine built a round house using a fish storing silo as a roof
Cool!
Amazing amazing video .... Thank u for sharing n planting seeds of love , we are so ready for our next chapter off grid 🤗
I like the flying arch gutters on the artist house.

Tin rusts but aluminum doesn't
@@rosegreen2787 the cans have no structural value. They are just filler. The honeycomb shape of the cement is what gives the support.
I have never heard of this! Ur video just popped up on my feed although I've been researching off grid for a while. Ty for this alternative.

If done properly, the tires are at compression when you plaster, then settling in the wall would be a result of improper compaction from the beginning
what is the purpose of the over-insullation? I don't think I heard one as I was wondering, while watching, why you were using so many panels
Can you still build like that there?
Is the earthship model kit still available?
