Love seeing the stern section of the wreck get some attention, very cool to see what still remains in this area of the wreck.
Fun Fact: Titanic was constructed before they figured out how to reverse a turbine engine. That's why if you watch the iceberg scene in the movie, you will notice the center propeller does not spin when the engines are engaged into reverse.
So how the Lusitania go in reverse if it have 4 turbines to run?
Titanic was NOT ordered into reverse at all. A "Full Stop" was given as to decelerate and begin the turn as efficiently as possible.
Calling Titanic into immediate reverse would cause a lot of unwanted turbulence and ultimately interfere with the turning.
Fun Fact #2 : Once the iceberg was spotted the command was "Hard Starboard" but the ship went to the left. In the Titanic movie they even show the pilot turning the wheel counter clockwise or to he left. Why the dependency? Back in those days directional commands on water that were being used still harkened back to the days of sailing and commands were given as tiller commands. Therefore a starboard command meant move the tiller to the right and thereby making the boat move to the left.

Every time someone talk about Titanic (or other steam ships) engines, they always refer to its reciprocating engines and/or turbine. Funny thing. If you look at the train steam locomotive, the tank engine, you'll see there a complex of machinery and the whole thing is the engine. Coal cart, fire box, boiler, smoke box, superheater, funnel, wheels (that act like flywheel as well)... And then those two small cylinders with pistons and steam valves, that are actually the engine. But everyone refer to the steam train engine as a whole machine! There is no steam engine without at least one boiler. It simply doesn't work!
That means, that Titanic engine is the whole complex of machinery too, including: boilers, coal bunkers, funnels, reciprocating engines, turbine, condensers, water injectors and three screws.
So next time you look at the image, scale model or 3D model of the Titanic, think of it as a huge steam engine with a little of hotel and boat skin around it. And it's amazing, how beautiful she is!

Wow, that's an interesting bug, that gives us a chance to explore a little more. I've been in A La Carte restaurant, Rudder gear room (no gear there), down at the aft close to center propeller. Interesting, that developers actually made many rooms and corridors there, but they not let player in there :(
On the Bow section i tried to get into the cargo #1 - there is a mess and no starboard side damage. Technically, there is no starboard side at all :) And the boiler room #3 is a huge empty space.
But guess what? I've been inside the 1st class Dining Saloon!
I wish developers had more resources and money to make entire ship, including all the rooms, that are not accessible in the real life. Or at least, those, that are accessible. Like screw stairs down to the firemen's passage on the bow, Scotland road, etc. Add TITANIC name on her sides and the stern, and maybe at least mark that hole, that is believed to be an actual damage from the iceberg.
It's a game about research after all. And the real Titanic is fading quickly. Soon there will be nothing to explore, except a pile of rusted metal and three anchors.
It's so cool watching you exploring the titanic while your're talking about what was there. I realy enjoy watching this video! You are so good!

It sounds like an editing nightmare, but it would be an interesting idea to do a "before and after" video for the stern section like the video you did for the bow section. Granted, there isn't much on the TitanicVR side and it would require a lot of manipulation of Demo 3 of Titanic Honor and Glory. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring with you Spammals! The stern section has always intrigued me and what lays inside the destruction. Fantastic video!
TitanicHG shows so little of the Stern area (except hacking) that there almost nothing to compare. At least for now.

I wish I could leave more than one like. I could watch these guided tours all day long. The developers did a brilliant job on this, even if there are a few errors. *cough* David *cough* lol Talk about a somber experience. I keep trying to imagine the forces exerted on the stern and I just can't. I think that's why it fascinates me so much. We will never know much about it because of the condition it is in.

I know no one has looked in the refrigeration rooms or sent a ROV into the stern at all, but I'd think the enclosed rooms and refrigerators on the lower stern would still have things in them like bottles, shelves, and tables.
4 years late, all of those rooms were filled with air when the ship slept beneath the waves, so the pressure in them must have been extreme, they were very deep inside and there was barely any places where water could get in them. So I can imagine that many artifacts like Champagne, Wine etc. probably got destroyed during the implosion. But you are right, there is definetly something to look in them for!
She's still beautiful as a wreck
the reason the stern is so destroyed and barren of decoration and such is because what is estimated to happen to the stern. It's theorised that while sinking, it could not fill slowly enough (like the bow) to fill completely with water, so there were airpockets. After the stern sank to a certain depth it imploded i most places, explaining the peeled off skin and missing decor. It all blew away into a debris field...

Their model is outstanding and I would really love one but it would likely cost a lot of money to post it.
There must be a feature where you can switch to before and after view from wreckage to intact (all the way like it was before sinking) by pressing just one button.

Spammals i just watched "saving the titanic" (spoiler alert the ship sinks) it is a docudrama featuring the men running the Titanic's engines in her final days. I am not sure how accurate it is but it is worth checking out if you have not already seen it.
