Hey all! Apologies about some of the audio clipping, I’m trying out some new things with mics etc it just didn’t work out this time. The incar shots I feel were little quiet watching back so I’ll watch for this again in future. I always welcome your feedback guys.
Jurgen Cassar Hey man, I use Final Cut Pro X on a Mac. (older one mind you) What I liked about FCPX was the fact it was a flat fee of £299 for the programme and free updates after that. Whereas other programmes cost £30 a month which obviously after 10 months just means end up paying lots more. Final cut also auto saves constantly so if I have power cut I’ve never lost anything! So user friendly too: if you have any questions ask away man.
That face he pulls at 5:08 tells me that he never gets bored of screaming it down the road 🤣 always liked the starlets, this video just made me like them even more, lovely car! Enjoyed watching this. Good work.

I remember when I was 19 years old, driving a 1.2 Corsa I really really wanted one of these but the cost of insurance was far too much for me, even on an EP91, it just wasn't feasible. Then a year later they were everywhere, so much power can be had from these cars. They have seen to have died off and I haven't seen any of them on the road. The definition of a pocket rocket in my opinion. These are going to head the same way as EK9's with their values sky rocketing soon enough.
just quick one, GT turbo rods are same thickness as Glanza ones, they both share the 4E-FTE engine. He may well be thinking of the 1996 Starlet that we got in the UK that has the 4E-FE engine, which has thinner con rods. Any who proper sick video, nice one :)
skaytan I do believe the glanza V did in fact have different material and different thickness rods compared to the GT both 4EFTE. It was something to do with the glanza had thinner rods that helped it rev faster but had less strength
Why young drivers? I'm 45. Got a Z32 Twin Turbo and Skyline R33 Neo and the Starlet is more brutal than both of them. Absolute killer car with some upgrades.

My best friend has one that he had imported to the state's role cage and all! He let me drive it and I was amazed & it Kept up with my mx5 miata I sold a while back quite nicely which my best friend was driving for the first time such as I in his starlet.

That is a lovely, quirky, and rare machine. Really like the wheels, the interior, and overall styling. Only thing that spoils it is the ridiculous exhaust, my car is 360bhp and both my exhausts together are not that big !
90s I drove lancias add 3 on the trott.then about 1997 Japanese imports started coming in ..early that decade you cud walk into Toyota dealership and buy a mr2 gt4 and supra ...now we got gt86 which needs a turbo and a BMW reject lol..maybe l lived through the best motoring time..
I ride the starlet version one, not the GT. Its fun to ride and starlet really have an impressive image and reputation. Especially if you treat it correctly.
Iv had both the gt and glanza v when I was younger. Since moved to Australia and would love to pick up one to rebuild but they are like gold dust over here.

My friend had one of these running just over 200bhp and my other friend had a glanza with around 250bhp with a td04 non hybrid running around 1.3 bar. I've been in both plenty of times so I know how quick they are

Andrew Johnson I’ll ask Josh mate. So many variables with insurance and company. Some only charge extra for power mods, some may insure it as a classic now. Based on location in country too. So many vairianles
KRs modeling unboxings and scale builds I was going to touch on them and Ireland actually. I’d heard they were super popular and easy to insure due to engine size. I can’t remember what laws are there. Is limits on engine size by age or something? So 1.3 turbo would be popular? Correct me if I’m way off
@@CJK20 anything 13 to 14 years old no-one will touch in insurance wise but there is 1 or 2 that mite still do it but it's costly now. once they know there turbo,d it doesn't be worth your while ye could get similar small new hatch backs Audie S3,s and wouldn't be much dearer than wat they'd want for the glanza /GT starlet is ther many old Gt turbo charades still floating around from ware your from they was great whistling sound wen they were boostiing
I have a 2001 JDM TOYOTA CALDINA GTT AWD WAGON (; - 3SGTE ENGINE (same as celica gt4 and mr2 turbos) its a bigger faster starlet - but i love these too, love all 90s early 2000s nuggets
@@CJK20 i love older jdm cars in particular, so much character and so much more engaging to drive, everything feels so manual and mechanical - sure maintaining one now means you must be somewhat of a DIYer changing little odds and ends that break due to wear and tear.. but overall i will never swap my nugget - besides i find working on my car even funner than driving it, never swap for anything newer , plastic cheapy built rubbish
Shreda125 Hilux 1 million % honestly. There’s nothing like an older car. I like having things to tweak and fix. All new cars feel and sound the same. Map them and you’ve got 500bhp + it’s to easy not earnt. All cars at meets are the same. Bring back the old school!

romie forde I would just type Toyota GT TURBO into Facebook and select groups. You’ll find plenty of buy and sells. Look for the ones with most people in!
Put a toyota cynos block in it they bolt straight in and its a 1500 cc that are identical in size so most mechanics wont even pick up on it having a engin swap 🤣
Really never heard of that. Literally going to have to google that block. What sort of power can they take? Do you need the Gearbox too? Or will Starlet one fit?
@@CJK20 same bolt patern as starlet its from a toyota cynos not sure if they were sold in uk or u.s but we've got them in new zealand pretty common upgrade here i had one with vfr turbo from a wrx sti and link g4 storm few other mods dyno at 230kw around 310hp
quinn henry yeah you get the 1.5 bottom end for a bit more capacity, but not as simple as bolting in lots of little headache jobs to get past in the process

Brought back memories! Had an ep82 back in 2004, ct9 hybrid turbo almost 220bhp, striped out to about 800kg, the most fun car I’ve ever owned. 👍🏻

Mk3 GT rods are the same as Glanza. Mk1/2 had thicker ones iirc.

@@CJK20 anything 13 to 14 years old no-one will touch in insurance wise but there is 1 or 2 that mite still do it but it's costly now. once they know there turbo,d it doesn't be worth your while ye could get similar small new hatch backs Audie S3,s and wouldn't be much dearer than wat they'd want for the glanza /GT starlet is ther many old Gt turbo charades still floating around from ware your from they was great whistling sound wen they were boostiing

I have a 2001 JDM TOYOTA CALDINA GTT AWD WAGON (; - 3SGTE ENGINE (same as celica gt4 and mr2 turbos) its a bigger faster starlet - but i love these too, love all 90s early 2000s nuggets

@@CJK20 i love older jdm cars in particular, so much character and so much more engaging to drive, everything feels so manual and mechanical - sure maintaining one now means you must be somewhat of a DIYer changing little odds and ends that break due to wear and tear.. but overall i will never swap my nugget - besides i find working on my car even funner than driving it, never swap for anything newer , plastic cheapy built rubbish
Shreda125 Hilux 1 million % honestly. There’s nothing like an older car. I like having things to tweak and fix. All new cars feel and sound the same.
Map them and you’ve got 500bhp + it’s to easy not earnt. All cars at meets are the same.

Put a toyota cynos block in it they bolt straight in and its a 1500 cc that are identical in size so most mechanics wont even pick up on it having a engin swap 🤣

@@CJK20 same bolt patern as starlet its from a toyota cynos not sure if they were sold in uk or u.s but we've got them in new zealand pretty common upgrade here i had one with vfr turbo from a wrx sti and link g4 storm few other mods dyno at 230kw around 310hp

quinn henry yeah you get the 1.5 bottom end for a bit more capacity, but not as simple as bolting in lots of little headache jobs to get past in the process
